Sophos named Torjus Gylstorff its chief revenue officer (CRO) on October 22, 2024. He leads the company’s global sales organization and its work with partners and customers, with a stated focus on growing revenue across Sophos’ cybersecurity portfolio.
Who is Torjus Gylstorff?
Gylstorff joined Sophos in October 2024 with more than 25 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity sales, channels and business development, according to Sophos’ appointment announcement.
Before Sophos, he was worldwide sales leader for Thales’ Application and Data Security business. Earlier roles included vice president of Worldwide Channels and Alliances at Symantec and emerging-business leadership at Blue Coat Systems. His career also includes Norman Shark, IBM and Lotus Software.
What does Sophos’ chief revenue officer do?
The CRO’s remit is global revenue growth. Sophos says Gylstorff leads its sales organization and partner and customer networks. The role connects sales strategy with the company’s route to market, including resellers, service providers and technology partners.

Why did Sophos appoint Gylstorff?
Sophos presented the appointment as a way to expand sales of its cybersecurity products and services, including Managed Detection and Response (MDR), endpoint, network, email and cloud security. The company said it wanted to extend its reach and deepen business with both existing and new managed service providers (MSPs).
The channel emphasis reflects Sophos’ view that partners can help it reach more organizations while helping customers obtain security services. CEO Joe Levy said: “The best and most efficient way to do this is by scaling with channel partners and MSPs.”

What could the appointment mean for Sophos partners and MSPs?
For partners, the announcement points to continued attention on channel growth and on helping resellers, service providers and technology partners deliver customer outcomes. Gylstorff described the goal as evolving Sophos’ channel business so partners can scale their security businesses. It signals strategic intent, not a specific change to partner terms, products, incentives or program requirements.
Sophos said in the 2024 announcement that it served more than 600,000 organizations. That is a company-reported figure from October 2024, not a current customer count; later Sophos messaging has used a higher figure.
