Some Verizon customers report receiving targeted discounts, but there is no verified universal loyalty offer for every existing customer. Treat any advertised savings as account-specific: check the terms in My Verizon and compare the net bill impact before accepting, especially if you have a grandfathered plan or phone-promotion credits.
What Verizon calls a loyalty discount—and what it may actually be
“Loyalty discount” can describe several different things. They do not all work the same way, and not all are rewards for tenure.
- Targeted retention credits: Individual customers report service discounts offered to selected accounts, sometimes after contacting support or considering a switch. The reports do not establish a nationwide offer or a public eligibility rule. A 2026 article describes targeted offers, but does not document a universal Verizon policy or independently verifiable terms: TechBloat’s report.
- Auto Pay and paper-free billing discounts: Verizon says qualifying plans can receive up to $10 per line per month when paid using an eligible bank account or Verizon Visa card. This is a plan-based billing discount, not an exclusive loyalty reward. Eligibility and amounts depend on the plan; see Verizon’s Unlimited Plus FAQ and Unlimited Ultimate FAQ.
- Public plan credits: Verizon’s plan materials show promotional account credits such as $10 for one line, $15 for two lines, or $20 for three or more lines in certain offers. These have their own terms and may expire after 36 months; they are not necessarily targeted retention offers. Check the current Verizon Unlimited plans terms.
- Device promotions: Trade-in and installment credits reduce the cost of a phone over time. They are not service discounts, and changing plans or paying off a device early can affect them.
- Verizon Shine: Verizon’s formal loyalty program offers rewards and Verizon Dollars. That does not mean every member receives a recurring reduction on the wireless bill. Review Verizon’s program details.
How much might a targeted offer save?
Verizon confirms that personalized deals can appear for existing customers, but it has not publicly confirmed a universal campaign matching the amounts customers have reported. The figures below distinguish documented offers from anecdotal reports.
| Offer type | What is established | Possible value |
|---|---|---|
| Auto Pay and paper-free billing | Official, plan-dependent discount | Up to $10 per qualifying line each month |
| Public account-credit promotions | Shown in Verizon plan materials; terms and expiration apply | Examples include $10 for one line, $15 for two, or $20 for three or more lines |
| Targeted retention credits | Customer reports and secondary coverage; not a verified universal policy | Reports commonly mention $10–$25 monthly |
| Targeted percentage discounts | Anecdotal customer reports | Some reports describe 25% off for six or 12 months |
| Verizon Shine / Verizon Dollars | Official rewards program | Rewards and benefits; not automatically a monthly bill discount |
Customer reports are useful clues, not guarantees. Recent reports describe a temporary 25% offer and questions about older credits ending: one report of a 25% offer and a discussion of removed “lifetime” credits. The amounts and terms that matter are the ones attached to your own account.

Who may qualify—and why tenure is no guarantee
Verizon does not publish a verified eligibility table for the latest targeted retention credits. Reports suggest that offers may depend on the account’s plan, line count, existing discounts and credits, account history, recent activity, and whether the customer appears to be considering cancellation. Prepaid and postpaid offers may differ. Years of service alone do not establish eligibility.
Verizon has offered selected customers account-specific deals through My Verizon. In a historical 2022 campaign, selected customers received a text about a $10 monthly discount; the offer was not universal. Droid Life’s report is an example of an earlier campaign, not proof that the same deal is available now.
How to check for a real offer
- Open the My Verizon app yourself and sign in as the account owner or account manager.
- Review the account dashboard, savings or benefits area, plan-management screens, and personalized offers. Search the signed-in account for labels such as “Offers,” “Savings,” “Benefits,” or “My Offers”; interface wording can change.
- Sign in at Verizon.com and check the account there as well. Verizon says customers can view special deals in My Verizon; see its device deals FAQ.
- For clarification, contact Verizon through support options reached inside the official app or website. Ask specifically whether there is an account-level service credit that works with your current plan.
Before asking, gather your latest bill; plan name for each line; number of phone, tablet, watch, and hotspot lines; Auto Pay status; qualifying employer or other discounts; device-payment balances; remaining trade-in credits; included perks; and any current credits with end dates.
Questions to ask before accepting
- What is the exact dollar or percentage amount, and does it apply per line or to the whole account?
- Which lines qualify, when does the credit begin, and when does it end? Is it recurring or one-time?
- Does it require a plan change, a particular payment method, or Auto Pay? Can it stack with my current discounts?
- Will it affect device-payment or trade-in credits, perks, hotspot data, international service, or other features?
- Are taxes and fees calculated before or after the credit? What happens if I upgrade, suspend, move, or cancel a line?
Save a screenshot of the offer and its terms, plus any chat transcript, plan-change summary, and confirmation. Check the next bill estimate and the first completed bill; if the credit was scheduled to start later, check the following bill too. Confirm that device credits and features remain intact. If the credit is missing, contact Verizon through its official app or website and provide your saved records.

Calculate the real savings, not just the headline number
Compare the offer with the bill you would actually pay, not just the stated discount. A useful 12-month calculation is:
Net savings = advertised discount − lost device credits − lost value of perks − added plan costs − required fees.
For example, if a $20 monthly offer requires a plan change that ends $25 in monthly phone credits, the change could leave you worse off while those credits remain. Assign a value to perks only if your household would otherwise pay for them, and include taxes and fees according to the offer’s actual terms. If phone credits continue beyond 12 months, compare the full remaining promotion term as well.
Plan and device-credit risks to check
Changing plans may stop device credits
Verizon says promotional device credits can stop if a customer moves to a nonqualifying plan, pays off a device early, or otherwise breaks the promotion’s terms. Confirm your specific offer before changing anything in the device deals FAQ and your account’s promotion details.

A cheaper plan can remove benefits you use
Compare hotspot data, international calling or roaming, streaming bundles, cloud storage, TravelPass benefits, upgrade eligibility, and watch or tablet discounts. Verizon warns that discounts can change when customers switch plans and that a new plan may not be compatible with an existing device promotion. Its Unlimited Plus FAQ explains plan-specific rules. Customers on older plans should also check which legacy features would disappear before moving to a current plan.
Do not assume a credit is permanent
Call a discount “permanent” only if its written terms clearly support that description. Customer reports include offers that end after six or 12 months and accounts where older credits were removed or replaced; these reports are not Verizon policy, but they are a reason to get the duration in writing.

A genuine targeted offer may arrive by message, but a message alone does not prove that an offer applies to your account. Do not click a suspicious link or call a number copied from an old article. Open My Verizon manually or type Verizon’s address yourself, then look for the offer after signing in. Never give an unsolicited caller a one-time verification code.
Should you take the offer, change plans, or switch?
Keeping your current plan and asking for an account review is usually the least disruptive first step if you value Verizon coverage or have financed devices and active trade-in credits. A plan change may make sense if the total bill and features improve, but compare the written plan terms with your current credits first.

Verizon’s Simplicity plan may suit customers seeking a different pricing structure, but it is not automatically a like-for-like replacement for myPlan. Verizon says customers who move to Simplicity while receiving a discounted device payment may lose that device discount; check its Simplicity FAQ.
Prepaid service may be worth comparing if your phone is paid off and you do not need postpaid financing, premium data, international features, or bundled perks. Visible, a Verizon-owned value-brand alternative, may fit customers with compatible unlocked phones and simpler service needs; it may not suit those who need traditional postpaid account support or specific postpaid promotions. Compare details at Visible.
If you are considering another carrier, include remaining device balances, lost credits, any switching incentives, coverage where you use your phone, and the cost of replacing perks. For households considering Verizon home internet, compare any available mobile-and-home savings with the standalone offer and confirm service availability at Verizon Home Internet. Do not add a service simply to chase a small discount.
