The properties total about 266,500 square feet, according to a report published the following day. The deal adds substantial office space in Apple’s headquarters city, but public reporting does not establish how the company plans to use it.
What Apple reportedly bought
AppleInsider reported that documents filed with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office showed a $216 million purchase of two office buildings. The report did not reproduce the underlying filings, so the price, payment terms and closing date are best treated as reported transaction details rather than independently confirmed here. It also does not establish whether the reported price covers only the real estate or includes other consideration.

The combined area is the sum of the two approximate figures reported by AppleInsider. Its report describes two office buildings; it does not establish whether they sit on separate parcels or form part of a larger property complex. AppleInsider’s December 12, 2025 report attributed the transaction details to county-record documents and said SiliconValley.com had identified the locations.
When the transaction closed
AppleInsider reported that the sale closed on December 11, 2025, and was paid in cash. The report appeared on December 12, 2025. This is a December 2025 transaction, not a new 2026 purchase.

Why the Cupertino location matters
Both addresses are on Stevens Creek Boulevard in Cupertino, the city where Apple is headquartered and Apple Park is located. The reporting presents the properties as additional office buildings, not as part of Apple Park. It does not provide a verified distance to Apple Park or establish that the buildings were occupied by Apple when the transaction closed.
What Apple says—and what it does not
Apple vice president of Global Real Estate and Facilities Kristina Raspe said the company continues to invest in facilities intended to support innovation and collaboration, and described the Santa Clara Valley as Apple’s home for nearly half a century. That is a general explanation of Apple’s facilities investments, not a building-specific account: the public statement reported by AppleInsider did not name teams or identify a planned use for these addresses.

How the purchase fits Apple’s reported 2025 acquisitions
AppleInsider said Apple’s property acquisitions during 2025 exceeded $1 billion, including a reported $350 million campus purchase and a $160 million Cupertino office-complex purchase earlier in the year. Those figures describe that publication’s reported tally, not a companywide audited ledger. The available reporting does not establish whether the tally includes every Apple property acquisition or how much of Apple’s Bay Area workspace is owned rather than leased.
What the purchase might mean for Apple’s workspace
Buying office property gives a company long-term control over sites, but the transaction alone does not show why Apple chose these buildings. Plausible explanations include adding capacity, securing property near existing facilities, creating specialized work areas, separating teams for operational or security reasons, or consolidating space that might otherwise be leased. None is confirmed as the reason for this purchase.

The $216 million price is significant as a local commercial-property transaction, while remaining small relative to Apple’s overall corporate scale. It should not automatically be read as a financial-return investment or evidence of a change in Apple’s capital strategy. The available reporting does not show an effect on Apple’s earnings, cash position or stock value.

- Which employees or business units, if any, will use the properties.
- Whether Apple plans renovations, redevelopment, a change in occupancy or any other construction work.
- Whether the purchase reflects hiring, consolidation, a move away from leased space or another facilities decision.
The reporting does not establish that Apple Park is full, that the deal was driven by a particular team or project, or that Apple plans to demolish or redevelop either building. The transaction confirms a substantial reported property purchase; it does not, by itself, reveal Apple’s workplace plans.
