In August 2026, $935 can still be compelling—but only if the listing is for a new US model with dependable US warranty coverage. Some listings at that price are international phones, and a newer Galaxy S26 Ultra now starts at the same official US price the S25 Ultra launched with.
What the original $935 deal actually was
The headline referred to a specific offer, not a permanent price: on July 11, 2025, deal coverage reported Amazon Prime Day pricing of $934.99 for the 256GB Galaxy S25 Ultra, reportedly in Titanium Gray. That was about $365, or 28%, below Samsung’s $1,299.99 launch price. The report called it an all-time low at that time; that does not establish an all-time low through 2026. Android Headlines’ July 2025 deal report covered that offer.
A listing you see now for $935 may be a different product, seller, storage size, or condition. In particular, a current marketplace result at roughly that price identifies a global 512GB SM-S938B/DS model, not the original 256GB US deal. The Walmart listing should not be treated as proof that the 2025 offer is still available.
Is $935 a good S25 Ultra price in 2026?
It is below Samsung’s listed US direct prices, but it is not necessarily the lowest market price—and the headline price alone does not tell you whether a listing is a sound purchase. Samsung’s US page lists the 256GB S25 Ultra at $1,299.99 and the 512GB model at $1,419.99. Price-comparison listings show North American 256GB offers from about $799 and 512GB offers around $935, but those figures do not establish that every offer is new, US-warrantied, in stock, or sold by an authorized retailer.

So $935 is a strong target for a legitimate, new US-unlocked S25 Ultra, especially if it is 512GB. But if a reputable seller offers a new US 256GB model materially below $935, paying more for the headline price makes little sense unless the higher-priced offer has a meaningful advantage, such as a better return policy or warranty. Compare final cost after tax, shipping and any required activation, rather than comparing search-result numbers alone.
What you get with the Galaxy S25 Ultra
The S25 Ultra remains a high-end phone, not an obsolete one. Its core hardware includes a 6.9-inch-class QHD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging and built-in S Pen. The rear cameras comprise a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP telephoto and 10MP telephoto; the front camera is 12MP. Samsung specifies IP68 water and dust resistance. Storage options vary by market and include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Samsung’s US package includes the phone, data cable and ejection pin, but not a charger. Why it can still suit the right buyer
- You use the S Pen: The built-in stylus is a practical differentiator for handwriting, marking up documents and precise on-screen input.
- You want camera flexibility: The high-resolution main camera and multiple telephoto options give you more framing choices than a phone with only a main and ultrawide camera.
- You value a large screen and battery: The expansive display and 5,000mAh battery suit media, multitasking and productivity use.
- You do demanding everyday work: The Snapdragon 8 Elite remains a flagship-class processor for gaming, photography and multitasking.
Those strengths explain why the phone remains attractive; they do not make every $935 listing a good deal. The listing’s model, condition, seller and warranty determine whether the price buys the product you expect.
When the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the better use of your money
Samsung lists the 256GB S26 Ultra at $1,299.99 in the US—the same official starting price listed for the S25 Ultra 256GB. That makes the comparison less favorable to the S25 than it was in 2025. The S26 is the newer generation and is the more defensible choice if the price gap is modest, you prioritize the newest processor and camera generation, or you want a longer remaining support runway and stronger resale prospects. The available price information establishes the starting price, not a complete technical comparison; check Samsung’s current specifications before choosing on the basis of a particular camera or feature.

At $935, the S25 is $364.99 below the S26’s listed 256GB starting price before tax. That gap can justify choosing the older model if you want to spend under $1,000 and value the S Pen and S25’s capabilities more than having the newest generation. If the actual S25 offer is only a little cheaper than a comparable S26, choose the S26 unless you have a specific reason to prefer the S25.
Check the model number before you pay
For a US buyer seeking an unlocked S25 Ultra, the key model designation is SM-S938U1. The global model shown in the $935 marketplace listing is SM-S938B/DS. Samsung’s US product page identifies the US unlocked model, while the marketplace listing identifies the global variant.

“Unlocked” is not enough to settle the question. A phone can accept another SIM yet still lack full support for a US carrier’s bands or features. International variants may differ in cellular-band support, eSIM behavior, regional firmware, Samsung Wallet availability, Wi-Fi calling, VoLTE and update eligibility. A global 512GB phone may look like better value than a US 256GB phone, but extra storage does not compensate everyone for uncertain warranty service or carrier features. If you are considering an international model, verify compatibility with your carrier and confirm which regional services and updates apply before buying.

- Read the exact model number. For a US unlocked S25 Ultra, look for SM-S938U1. Treat SM-S938B/DS as an international model, not an equivalent US listing.
- Confirm storage and condition. Make sure the listing explicitly says 256GB, 512GB or 1TB and clearly identifies the phone as new, refurbished or open-box. Do not infer condition from the price or product title.
- Inspect the actual seller. Check who sells the phone and who fulfills it; a retailer’s name or logo alone does not establish that the marketplace vendor is authorized or that Samsung US will cover the device.
- Get warranty terms in writing. Ask whether Samsung US warranty service applies and whether the phone is eligible for Samsung Care+. For a third-party or imported phone, confirm eligibility using its IMEI and purchase documentation before relying on US coverage.
- Check your carrier’s features. Confirm the specific model supports your carrier’s LTE/5G bands, eSIM or dual-SIM needs, VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling. Ask the seller whether “unlocked” means US factory-unlocked, not merely SIM-compatible in another region.
- Read returns and extra charges. Check the return window, restocking fees, shipping, taxes, import fees and any activation, financing or trade-in requirements. A displayed $935 is not necessarily the checkout total.
- Confirm what is in the package. Samsung’s US listing specifies the phone, cable and ejection pin, with no charger. Check that a marketplace listing includes the expected S Pen and accessories, and budget for a compatible USB-C charger if needed.
How to decide based on your priorities
Choose the S25 Ultra at $935 if
- It is new, US-unlocked SM-S938U1 stock from a seller with clear returns and credible US warranty coverage.
- You specifically want the S Pen, large display and versatile camera setup.
- You are comfortable buying last year’s flagship rather than paying more for the newest generation.
- The final delivered price remains close to $935, with no hidden activation or import costs.
Choose the S26 Ultra if
- The price difference from the S25 is small enough that you would rather have the newer generation.
- Longer remaining support, the latest processor and camera generation, or resale value matter more than keeping the purchase under $1,000.
- You are buying direct from Samsung and prefer a straightforward route to US warranty and Care+ eligibility.
Look for a cheaper S25 or skip a questionable listing if
- A trustworthy seller has a new US 256GB model materially below $935, or you are willing to consider refurbished stock only with a warranty and return policy you accept.
- The $935 listing hides its seller, condition, model number or warranty, or turns out to be carrier-locked or imported stock without clear US support.
- You need guaranteed US carrier features and Samsung service but cannot verify them for the specific device.
Account for protection and accessories
Samsung’s US S25 Ultra purchase page displays Care+ at $10 per month or $199 for two years, and Care+ with Theft and Loss at $15 per month or $279 for two years. Those are Samsung’s displayed US plan prices; imported or third-party devices may not qualify for the same enrollment terms. Confirm device eligibility and plan terms before treating protection as part of the deal.

Samsung’s US package does not include a power adapter. If you do not already have a compatible USB-C charger, include that cost in your comparison. A case and screen protector may also be worthwhile, but their prices depend on the products you choose and are not included in the phone’s advertised price.
