Coupert is a free shopping tool that can test coupon codes, surface cashback offers and show price comparisons. It is a legitimate service with official browser and app listings, but it does not guarantee a working coupon, tracked cashback or the lowest final price. Its usefulness depends on the retailer, your cart, tracking conditions and whether you are comfortable with the extension’s data disclosures.
What is Coupert?
Coupert combines coupon discovery and checkout testing with cashback offers and price-comparison information. It is available through a website, browser tools and mobile apps, although features and compatibility can vary by browser, device, retailer and region. The official product site describes its shopping tools at Coupert.
The basic extension is marketed as free. Coupert’s terms also mention optional Coupert Plus features, but a current price was not established. The Chrome Web Store identifies the developer as Coupert Science LLC. Its listing claims coverage of more than 200,000 online stores; that is a company claim, not an independently verified count. The listing’s version and ratings change over time, so check it directly for current details: Coupert on the Chrome Web Store.
How Coupert works
Coupon discovery and testing
At participating stores, Coupert may show an on-page prompt or checkout control and try available coupon codes. A code can be expired, limited to certain products or customers, restricted by region, or incompatible with another promotion. “Best code” means the best among the codes Coupert can access and test—not necessarily the best deal available from the retailer or elsewhere. Compare the actual checkout total: a percentage discount may lose to free shipping or a fixed-dollar offer.

Cashback offers
Cashback works through affiliate referrals. A retailer or affiliate network may pay Coupert a commission for a qualifying purchase, and Coupert may share part of that commission with the shopper. The Chrome listing discloses affiliate monetization, and Coupert’s terms describe conditions that can delay, reverse or disqualify rewards.
- Instant discount: A coupon reduces the merchant’s checkout total immediately.
- Pending cashback: Coupert has recorded a possible reward, but the retailer has not finished validating it.
- Confirmed cashback: The purchase has passed the applicable validation process. Returns, cancellations, exclusions or affiliate-network decisions can still affect eligibility under the terms.
Do not treat pending cashback as money already received. The available official information does not establish one universal payout timetable or minimum withdrawal amount for all reward types.

Price comparisons
Coupert may display other offers or lower listed prices, but a lower item price does not necessarily mean a cheaper purchase. Check the exact model and quantity, seller, shipping, tax, delivery estimate, warranty, return policy, stock status and any membership requirement. Coupert’s terms caution that comparison information may be incomplete or out of date and do not promise the lowest price.
How to install and use Coupert in Chrome
- Open the official Chrome Web Store listing.
- Select Add to Chrome. Review the permissions and store privacy information before confirming installation.
- Sign in or create an account if the feature you want requires one.
- Visit a participating retailer and look for Coupert’s coupon or cashback prompt. If cashback is offered, activate it before paying.
- At checkout, use Coupert’s coupon-testing control if it appears. Verify that any discount is reflected in the merchant’s order total.
- Save the order confirmation and check your Coupert account for a pending transaction or later status update.
A visible reduction in the checkout total is evidence that a coupon applied. A cashback activation or prompt is not proof that the purchase will ultimately qualify. Check the current listing for other browser support; compatibility and controls are not necessarily the same across browsers.

Does Coupert really save money?
It can save time by automating a search for codes and bringing offers into the shopping session. Whether it saves money on a particular order depends on what codes are available, whether one fits your cart, whether the merchant accepts the referral and whether a comparison is like-for-like.
Coupert’s app listing has advertised average annual savings of about $600. Treat that as a promotional company claim, not a guaranteed or independently established typical result. Likewise, the Chrome listing’s store-coverage figure is a claim, not proof that every listed store or product will produce an eligible offer.

- For coupons: Confirm the code changes the total and does not remove a more valuable promotion or free shipping.
- For cashback: Consider it a possible later reward, not an immediate discount.
- For comparisons: Compare the delivered cost and purchase terms, not just the displayed item price.
Why cashback may not track or may be reversed
Cashback depends on a referral being recorded and then accepted by the retailer or affiliate network. Coupert’s terms and regional terms describe conditions that may affect tracking or eligibility.
- Cashback was not activated before checkout, or the order was placed in another tab, app or marketplace.
- Another cashback portal, affiliate link or shopping extension received the referral credit instead.
- Ad-blocking, privacy software, browser settings or disabled cookies interfered with tracking.
- The item, merchant category, region or payment method was excluded; gift cards or store credit may be restricted.
- The order was returned, canceled, exchanged, partially refunded or otherwise changed.
- The merchant did not report the transaction, or its validation or compliance review rejected the reward.
For a missing transaction, check that activation occurred before payment, review the offer’s exclusions and confirm you completed the purchase in the same browser session. Keep the order confirmation, date, amount and item details. If it remains missing, contact Coupert through its official support route. If a reward later becomes ineligible, review the merchant’s reason and the offer terms before assuming it was a tracking error.

Is Coupert safe from a privacy perspective?
“Safe” depends partly on what data access you are willing to grant. Coupert’s privacy policy says the extension operates on supported shopping or subscription websites and processes information needed for shopping functions, such as the current page URL. It says it does not scan, read or store the full content of every website visited.
The Chrome Web Store disclosure, however, says the extension handles location, web history and website content. A store data-use disclosure and a company privacy policy describe different things: one identifies categories the extension may handle, while the other explains the company’s stated collection and use practices. Review both rather than interpreting “shopping-related” processing as no browsing data being involved.
- Install from Coupert’s official site or the relevant browser store, and review permissions before approving.
- Where your browser allows it, limit site access or disable the extension when you do not need it.
- Avoid running several cashback extensions for one purchase; competing referrals can prevent the service you selected from receiving credit.
Coupert versus Rakuten, Honey and Capital One Shopping
These services overlap, but their emphasis and reward formats differ. Choose by the task you care about rather than assuming one tool is best for every purchase.

For any cashback service, compare offers before checkout, select one referral source, disable competing extensions for that transaction, activate the chosen offer and retain the order confirmation. Coupert is a reasonable option for frequent online shoppers who want coupon testing and offer prompts without manually searching every store, and who are comfortable with the extension’s data disclosures and affiliate tracking. It is less suitable for shoppers who want guaranteed cash payouts or guaranteed lowest-price results, those who rarely shop online, privacy-sensitive users, or people already running several competing cashback tools. For expensive purchases, independently verify the seller, warranty, return terms and delivered price before relying on an automated comparison.
