The original promotion was limited-time; Verizon now markets a similar entry-level plan as myPlan Unlimited Welcome, with its own terms and temporary credit.
What Verizon offered in December 2022
Verizon’s promotion, reported on December 26, 2022, lowered the four-line Welcome Unlimited rate from a reported $30 to $25 per line per month when customers met the offer’s billing requirements. That is $20 less per month across four lines, or $720 over 36 months if all four lines kept qualifying for the full period. The calculation excludes taxes, fees, devices, insurance, perks, and other charges. Android Headlines’ contemporary report described the campaign as limited-time.
The same report listed lower per-line prices for smaller groups. These are historical promotional figures, not a current quote:

Each displayed rate was reported with a $5-per-line reduction. The source’s presentation of five-line eligibility is ambiguous, so no five-line rate is included.

What the three-year price lock did—and did not—cover
“Price lock” did not mean that a customer’s full monthly bill could not rise. Verizon describes its guarantee as protecting the base monthly rate for talk, text, and data. Its plan terms exclude taxes, fees, and surcharges, and optional benefits or other add-ons are separate charges. Verizon’s plan page explains the current guarantee and its exclusions.

As a result, the service rate could remain unchanged while the total due changed because of taxes, fees, or items added to the account.

Who qualified for the historical offer
The December 2022 account comes from a contemporary secondary report, rather than an archived Verizon offer page with complete original terms. Android Headlines reported that customers needed to bring a compatible phone, enroll in Auto Pay and paper-free billing, and keep qualifying lines and plan eligibility. It reported a four-line rate of $35 per line without Auto Pay and paper-free billing, rather than $25.
That report also said canceling, upgrading, or moving a qualifying line could end the guarantee. Because the complete original terms are not established here, treat those conditions as reported historical requirements, not a definitive statement of Verizon’s current rules. Anyone assessing an old account should check the offer details and confirmation attached to that account.

Is the $25 Welcome Unlimited deal still available?
The specific Welcome Unlimited campaign was a limited-time December 2022 promotion; it should not be treated as an offer still open for new sign-ups. Verizon’s current name is myPlan Unlimited Welcome. The reversed word order matters: Verizon’s FAQ distinguishes the current myPlan plan from the older Welcome Unlimited plan and says the three-year guarantee does not apply to the old plan. Verizon’s FAQ explains the distinction.
As of the Verizon plan materials reviewed for this article, a similar current promotion advertised four lines of Unlimited Welcome for as low as $25 per line per month with Auto Pay and paper-free billing. Verizon showed a standard rate of $30 per line for four or more lines, before the promotional credit. The current offer uses a temporary monthly account credit: $10 for one line, $15 for two, and $20 for three or more, expiring after 36 months. The four-line promotional base price is therefore $100 monthly versus $120 at the listed standard rate before that credit; taxes and fees are extra. Pricing and credits can change, so check the plan page and checkout terms before signing up. Verizon’s current plan page lists the rates and credit terms.

Do not assume that the current offer repeats the 2022 promotion’s eligibility rules. Verizon’s current Auto Pay support page says eligible myPlan unlimited lines can receive up to $10 per month off per line with qualifying Auto Pay and paper-free billing; payment-method requirements apply. Compare the recurring cost during the credit period with the cost after it ends. For four lines, the current page’s advertised $25-per-line figure equals $100 a month before taxes and fees. Once the $20 monthly account credit expires after 36 months, the listed four-or-more-line base rate is $30 per line, or $120 monthly before taxes and fees, assuming the listed rate and account configuration still apply. Device installments, insurance, perks, and other account charges add to either figure.

Who may find Unlimited Welcome a good fit
- Families seeking a lower Verizon base rate: The advertised per-line price depends on multiple lines; the four-line illustration is not a single-line quote.
- People bringing compatible phones: BYOD was reported as a condition of the 2022 deal. For a current signup, check the current offer’s device eligibility rather than assuming the old terms still apply.
- Price-focused users with modest feature needs: The entry-level tier may suit customers who do not depend on substantial hotspot use, premium international data, or higher-tier upgrade benefits.
When to look beyond the advertised price
- If you need new phones, include device financing separately; a plan price is not the full switching cost.
- If you often use hotspot or need extensive international service, compare the relevant higher-tier benefits and their added cost.
- If you may cancel or reorganize lines, verify how that affects the current promotion before making changes.
- If you do not want qualifying Auto Pay and paper-free billing, the advertised discounted price may not apply. Verizon’s current terms are on its Auto Pay FAQ.
- If you add a perk, account for it separately: it is not part of the protected base service rate.
What existing Verizon customers should check
Verizon says customers on an existing Mix & Match or Welcome Unlimited plan can choose to move one or all lines to myPlan; customers on some other legacy plans may need to move all lines. This current switching guidance is separate from the 2022 promotion. Confirm how a migration affects each line, any existing discounts, and the new plan’s credit and guarantee terms on Verizon’s plan page before changing service.
