You generally can’t change the country on an established eBay account’s registration address. If you only need an order delivered somewhere else, add a shipping address for that destination. If you’ve moved and need to sell from a new country, contact eBay before changing payout, identity, or tax details; eBay may need to advise whether your account can be handled in another way or whether a new account is required.
Which country do you want to change?
“Country” can refer to several separate settings. Changing one does not automatically change the others.

How to change the delivery country or shipping address
If you want an order sent to another country, you generally don’t need to change your account’s registration country. Add the destination address and confirm it for the purchase.
- Sign in to eBay and open My eBay.
- Go to Account → Addresses.
- Under Shipping address, select Edit to update an address or Add another address to enter a new one.
- Select Make primary if you want that address to be your default.
- At checkout, check the Ship to section and select Change if needed. Confirm the complete address before paying.

Check the total and delivery eligibility
A new destination can change whether the seller will ship the item, the shipping price, the estimated delivery date, and applicable customs or import charges. Review the final amount shown at checkout: international delivery estimates and charges can change when the delivery address changes. The shipping service shown—such as eBay International Shipping, the Global Shipping Programme, or another service—depends on the listing, seller, and destination. How to shop on another country’s eBay site
You can browse a regional marketplace such as eBay.com (United States), eBay.co.uk (United Kingdom), eBay.de (Germany), eBay.ca (Canada), or eBay.com.au (Australia). Visiting a different domain may show different listings, currencies, shipping options, or local terms; it does not migrate your account or change the country on its registration address.

For a purchase, use the delivery address you actually want and check whether the listing ships there. Import treatment and available shipping services depend on the item, destination, and checkout options. For sellers, transactions on a site other than the registration site may be subject to that site’s user agreement, policies, and applicable laws, as described in eBay’s international selling policy.
A different display currency—or paying with a card issued in another country—also does not change the account’s registration country. Seller-side conversion charges may apply in some circumstances; eBay’s fee details vary by seller and transaction. See eBay’s selling-fee information.

If you’ve moved and need to sell from a new country
Do not treat a seller account’s registration country as an ordinary profile preference. eBay says that country cannot be changed through its standard address process. Because seller payouts, identity verification, tax details, and eligibility may depend on account information, contact eBay support before changing those details and ask whether your existing account can be migrated or whether you need a new one.
- Contact eBay support and explain that you have moved, stating the countries involved and whether you sell through the account.
- Ask what to do with the existing account and whether eBay has a process for your specific circumstances.
- Have accurate current identity, residence or business address, payout, and tax information ready if requested.
- Wait for guidance before changing payout or verification details, opening another account, or closing the old one.
Do not use a borrowed or virtual address, mismatched bank details, or a VPN to make the account appear registered somewhere else. Those steps do not update legitimate identity, tax, or payout information and can create verification problems.

Before opening or closing an account
A new account may not automatically carry over feedback, purchase history, seller metrics, listings, or account age. Ask eBay what, if anything, can be transferred or linked; do not assume it can preserve them. Keep the old account open until outstanding orders, returns, refunds, disputes, payouts, and tax records are resolved. Do not rely on a particular email-address rule without checking eBay’s current registration instructions.

If you’ve already paid for an order
The address editor does not normally let you replace the delivery address on a completed order. Contact the seller promptly through the order’s delivery-information page and explain the problem. eBay’s address guidance advises contacting the seller when an address is wrong after payment.
Do not assume a seller can safely send the parcel to an address supplied in a message instead of the one shown on the order. If the seller cannot ship to the order address, ask what options are available. Cancellation and repurchase with the correct address may be safer, but the seller is not guaranteed to agree to cancel, and cancellation consequences depend on the circumstances and applicable policies.
Why the country option may be locked
If the country field for your registration address is unavailable, that matches eBay’s stated restriction: its standard address instructions do not allow changing that country. Updating other address details, adding a foreign shipping address, or browsing another regional site will not change the registration country.
For a buyer, the practical fix is usually to select the correct delivery address for the order. For a seller who has relocated, ask eBay about the account-specific options rather than trying to bypass the field. Sellers can separately configure international shipping or exclude countries through shipping preferences or listing settings; those controls do not change where the seller account is registered.
