Registration is free, according to TNT.
What to prepare before registering
Have your phone available to receive the OTP and take the required photos. TNT’s FAQ lists these details and documents; the live portal may show additional fields, so follow the form currently presented.
- Your TNT mobile number and SIM serial number, which TNT says Smart will provide.
- Your full name, birthday, present address, and gender.
- A valid government-issued photo ID and a selfie photo.
- Other fields shown by the portal, which may include nationality, ID type and number, an alternate contact number, and email.
TNT’s examples of acceptable IDs include a passport, PhilID, SSS ID, GSIS e-Card, driver’s license, NBI clearance, police clearance, firearms license, PRC ID, IBP ID, OWWA ID, BIR ID, voter’s ID, senior citizen card, UMID, and PWD card. TNT says its examples are not exhaustive; use a valid government-issued photo ID accepted by the form. See TNT’s SIM registration FAQ for its published guidance.
Register on the Smart website
- Open the official Smart SIM registration portal.
- Enter your TNT number. Read and accept the displayed terms and privacy notice to proceed.
- Request the OTP. Wait for the text message, then return to the portal, enter the code, and submit it.
- Complete the registration form with the requested personal details.
- Photograph and upload your government-issued ID, then take and submit a selfie for verification.
- Review the information populated from your ID. Correct errors before continuing, then check all details carefully.
- Attest that the information is true and submit the form.
- Save a screenshot of the control number and wait for TNT’s confirmation text.
The form submission and the operator’s confirmation are distinct steps. TNT does not state a guaranteed processing time on its registration page, so do not assume registration is complete until you receive the confirmation. Its page describes the process at smart.com.ph/simreg.

Use the GigaLife App instead
The GigaLife App offers a similar self-service process: enter the TNT number, verify it by OTP, fill in the requested details, submit ID and selfie images, review the information and address, attest to its accuracy, and retain the control number. Choose the app if it is more convenient to complete the photo and upload steps on your phone; both routes require access to the number for OTP verification.
Special cases: minors and foreign nationals
If the SIM user is under 18
TNT says a SIM used by someone under 18 must be registered in the name of a parent or legal guardian. A person who has turned 18 can visit a Smart Store to request an ownership transfer.

If the registrant is a foreign national
Foreign nationals must register too. TNT’s published guidance asks tourists for a passport, proof of address in the Philippines, and a return or other ticket showing the departure date and time. For other visa categories, additional documents may apply, including an Alien Certificate of Registration ID, an Alien Employment Permit, or school registration and ID, depending on the case. TNT says tourist-registered SIMs are valid for 30 days and may be extended with an approved visa extension. Requirements and validity rules can change, so check the live form and TNT’s current guidance for your status before submitting.
If online registration does not work
TNT lists Smart Stores, the Smart hotline, Facebook Messenger, and the GigaLife App as support or registration channels. Its published numbers are *888 when calling from a TNT number and (02) 8888-1111 from a landline; confirm current contact options on TNT’s registration page before calling, since support details may change.

Keep your control number available when seeking help. Do not post or send your OTP, ID images, selfie, or registration details in public comments or unverified messages. SIM registration involves personal data and ID/selfie images, as explained in Smart’s privacy policy.

TNT says SIM registration is free for both new and existing subscribers. A new TNT SIM must be registered before activation, and TNT warns that an unregistered SIM will be deactivated. The past registration deadline shown in some operator materials is historical, not a current deadline.
