Retailer listings reported on September 21, 2020, pointed to a 128GB Google Pixel 5 in black and white. They were preliminary catalog entries—not Google’s official specifications—and a conflicting German listing left a possible green version unresolved.
What the retailer listings showed
More Computers and BT reportedly had listings connected with the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. Computer Universe supplied a conflicting Pixel 5 color description. The entries appeared before Google’s planned September 30, 2020 online announcement, and the information was still incomplete or changing. The September 21 report described what retailers had listed, not a Google specification sheet.
| # | Preview | Product | Price | |

Google Pixel 6 5G, 128GB, Stormy Black - Unlocked (Renewed) | $186.66 | Buy on Amazon |

Google Pixel 8 5G,US Version, 128 GB Obsidian - Unlocked (Renewed) | $279.99 | Buy on Amazon |
The Pixel 5 entries pointed to 128GB of storage. They did not conclusively rule out additional storage configurations in other listings or markets.
Model numbers and the color discrepancy
| Retailer identifier | Listing description | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| GA01986-UK | 128GB, white | A UK retailer entry described this model as white. |
| GA01316-UK | 128GB, black | A UK retailer entry described this model as black. |
| GA01986-DE | Green | Computer Universe used the same core model-number family as the UK white entry, leaving the color uncertain. |
The black and white entries were the clearest indication of the initial apparent lineup. The green description should not be treated as equally strong evidence: the matching GA01986 core number appeared as white in the UK entry and green in the German one.
#1 Best Overall
- Google Pixel 6 powered by Google’s first-generation Tensor processor, enabling advanced on-device AI features such as more natural voice typing, quick language translation, and improved image processing without relying heavily on cloud services.
The listings do not explain the discrepancy. It could have reflected a catalog error, incorrect or placeholder color metadata, regional naming differences, a separate green variant, or a model-number mismatch. The available report did not determine which explanation was right. These retailer identifiers also do not establish universal consumer-facing names or prove that every color would be sold in every country.
What the reported prices did—and did not—mean
The Pixel 5 was listed at approximately £615 in the UK. That was a reported retailer price, not confirmed final Google pricing. The same report cited BT’s $499 price for the separate Pixel 4a 5G; that figure should not be attributed to the Pixel 5.
A possible US Pixel 5 price of around $699 was discussed as an expectation, not a confirmed price. Comparing £615 with a US price through currency conversion alone would also miss differences in taxes, distribution costs, and regional pricing.

What these listings left unanswered
The retailer entries did not establish the Pixel 5’s processor, display specifications, camera hardware, battery capacity, materials or design, 5G-band support, exact launch date, final regional availability, official color names, confirmed US price, or whether 128GB would be the only storage tier.

A retailer catalog entry can surface a planned configuration, but it can also contain incomplete or inaccurate metadata. The evidence hierarchy matters: an official Google announcement or product page would be stronger than consistent retailer listings, which in turn are stronger than a single retailer entry or an unverified rumor. This report rested on retailer listings, so its firmest useful takeaway was what those listings said—not what Google had officially confirmed.
