Kindle Click is Amazon’s separately sold Bluetooth remote for turning compatible Kindle pages without touching the e-reader. Amazon says it works with Kindle models released in 2024 or later; support for older models has not been established. At launch, the reported US price was $34.99, while Amazon Japan listed ¥5,180 including tax.
What Kindle Click does
Kindle Click pairs with a compatible Kindle over Bluetooth and lets you turn pages forward or backward from a handheld remote. It is intended for situations where reaching for the e-reader is awkward, such as reading under covers, using a treadmill, or propping a Kindle on an airplane tray table. The remote is sold separately.
GeekWire’s October 2026 launch report says the remote recharges over USB-C and has side buttons for adjusting brightness. Those are reported launch details; availability and product specifications can change.
Will Kindle Click work with your Kindle?
Amazon’s compatibility guidance specifies Kindle models released in 2024 or later. TechCrunch described support for new Kindle devices and models from 2024 onward. Neither Amazon’s announcement nor the launch reporting establishes compatibility with pre-2024 Kindles, so owners of older models should not assume the remote will pair or work.

How much does Kindle Click cost?
The launch prices vary by market. TechCrunch reported a US price of $34.99, and Amazon Japan’s October 1, 2026 announcement listed ¥5,180 including tax. These are market-specific announced prices, not a universal or guaranteed current price. Check the local Amazon marketplace for the price, stock, and shipping terms that apply to you.
Kindle Click versus Amazon’s buttoned cover
Amazon also announced a magnetic cover with physical page-turn buttons. Unlike the handheld remote, its buttons are part of the cover, and Amazon restricts it to the 2026 Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition.

| Option | Form | Supported models | Reported launch price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kindle Click | Separate Bluetooth handheld remote | Kindle models released in 2024 or later, according to Amazon | US: $34.99 (TechCrunch); Japan: ¥5,180 including tax (Amazon Japan) |
| Magnetic cover with page-turn buttons | Magnetic cover with buttons built in | 2026 Paperwhite Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature Edition | US: $79.99 (GeekWire); Japan: ¥11,980 including tax (Amazon Japan) |
Choose the remote if you want to keep the Kindle in its existing case or prop it up and turn pages from a separate control. The buttoned cover combines the controls and cover, but its model support is narrower. The prices above are launch-market reports and announcements, not a promise of current local pricing.
What about other e-reader remotes?
TechCrunch placed Kindle Click alongside Rakuten Kobo Remote and BOOX Tappy, reporting $29.99 for each competitor at the time of its 2026 comparison. Those figures are reported comparison prices, not verified current prices. The available reporting does not establish that either competitor works with Kindle; TechCrunch describes Tappy as made for BOOX ePaper devices.
