Is Koofr’s 1 TB Lifetime Cloud Plan Worth It? Check the Price and Terms

The $119.97 Koofr 1 TB lifetime price is a dated deal report, not a confirmed current checkout price. Here’s what to verify about cost, security, and continuity.

Koofr’s 1 TB lifetime plan was advertised for $119.97 with code KOOFR in a June 2025 deal report, but that is not a verified current checkout price. TechRadar’s page, crawled September 30, 2026, lists the plan at $159.97. Confirm the live price and redemption terms before paying; the offer is a one-time purchase, not a guarantee of storage for your lifetime.

What the $119.97 offer does—and does not—confirm

BleepingComputer Deals reported the $119.97 price for a Koofr 1 TB lifetime plan using code KOOFR on June 16, 2025. That is a dated offer report, not confirmation that the code or price still works. TechRadar’s comparison page, crawled September 30, 2026, lists Koofr’s 1 TB lifetime plan at $159.97. The StackSocial checkout destination was not available for verification, so neither listing establishes the amount you will pay today.

Before purchase, check the checkout page for the final price, whether KOOFR is accepted, who is eligible, how redemption works, and how the offer applies to an existing Koofr account. Do not assume a displayed deal price is guaranteed until checkout shows the applicable terms.

Lifetime deal versus Koofr’s standard plan

Koofr’s public pricing page lists its standard 1 TB XXL plan at €10 per month. Koofr says prices include 22% VAT, may vary by country, and are confirmed after billing information is entered. This monthly plan is a separate product and price reference; it does not establish the current price or terms of a lifetime promotion.

The standard XXL plan description includes 10 GB of additional free space, automatic mobile media backup, two-way synchronization, file versioning, 30-day deleted-file retention, five Vault safe boxes, up to 18 external cloud connections, and a 1 TB daily public transfer limit. Check the offer details to confirm which features and limits apply to the lifetime purchase.

What “lifetime” means for your money and files

A lifetime offer is a prepayment whose value depends on Koofr continuing to operate and honor the deal. It does not mean access is guaranteed for the buyer’s lifetime or under every circumstance. BleepingComputer warns that the deal would stop working if the company went out of business; TechRadar gives the same general caution about lifetime cloud storage.

That makes the deal a poor place for the only copy of important records, family photos, or business files. Koofr’s comparison document recommends using an external hard drive as an additional backup layer alongside cloud storage. A local copy gives you another recovery option if a cloud service becomes unavailable.

How Koofr describes security and privacy

Koofr says files transfer over TLS/SSL and are stored encrypted on its servers, with copies in at least three separate locations. It also offers TOTP two-factor authentication and passkeys. These are Koofr’s descriptions of its service and security measures; they should not be confused with client-side, zero-knowledge encryption.

Vault is a separate encryption feature

Koofr describes Koofr Vault as an open-source application that provides client-side, zero-knowledge encryption. That is distinct from the encryption model Koofr describes for ordinary cloud storage. If client-side encryption is essential to your decision, verify which files and workflows are covered by Vault rather than assuming every file stored in Koofr receives that protection.

Data location and connected accounts

Koofr says its servers are located in Germany in ISO 27001-certified data centers and that it does not use third-party tracking tools on its site or service. Its privacy policy says that, while Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive accounts are connected, Koofr stores metadata but not the underlying files from those accounts. These statements are Koofr’s own; review its current privacy policy and security information for details that matter to your use.

How to decide whether the deal suits you

  • Consider it if: you want a large cloud-storage allocation, understand that the purchase depends on the provider continuing to operate, and have a separate backup for files you cannot afford to lose.
  • Pause if: the checkout price or redemption terms are unclear, you need guaranteed long-term access, or you require client-side encryption across all stored files.
  • Compare on the details: current checkout price, one-time versus recurring billing, storage capacity, data handling, recovery and retention features, integrations, and continuity risk. TechRadar’s comparison also lists pCloud and Icedrive, but its prices and capacities are snapshots rather than verified checkout offers.
