CYE Acquired Solvo’s CSPM and CIEM Technology: What Changed

CYE’s 2025 acquisition covered Solvo’s CSPM and CIEM technology. CYE now calls the product Cye CSPM (formerly Solvo), with distinct AWS and Azure migration steps and important limits on what finding history transfers.

CYE announced on January 29, 2025, that it had acquired Solvo’s cloud-security technology for Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM). The announcement described an acquisition of technology, not necessarily Solvo as a company, and did not disclose a transaction value. CYE said it would integrate the capabilities with its Hyver exposure-management platform.

What CYE acquired—and what it said the technology would do

CYE’s announcement named Solvo’s CSPM and CIEM technology as the acquired assets. CSPM generally concerns visibility into cloud configurations and posture; CIEM concerns cloud identities, permissions, and entitlements. The announcement said the technology would give CYE deeper visibility into customer cloud assets and configuration gaps across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

CYE positioned the combination as a way to bring cloud context into Hyver so organizations could prioritize cloud weaknesses as part of continuous exposure management. Founder and CEO Reuven Aronashvili said the technology would add “native cloud-based considerations into organizational context.” Solvo Co-Founder and CEO Shira Shamban described the combination as adding mitigation and validation capabilities. These were the companies’ stated intentions, not independent evidence of customer outcomes.

What happened to Solvo’s product

CYE’s support documentation dated May 10, 2026, calls the product “Cye CSPM (formerly Solvo).” The guide says Cye CSPM monitors cloud configurations and detects policy violations through metadata-level scanning. It also documents a migration from CYE’s older native AWS and Azure cloud integrations.

#1 Best Overall
SonicWall TZ280 2.5 Gbps Next-Gen Firewall Appliance, HW Only
  • APPLIANCE ONLY: Hardware unit sold without a service subscription — security services, firmware updates and support are NOT included and must be purchased separately to activate protection.
  • PERFORMANCE: Up to 2.5 Gbps firewall inspection, 1 Gbps threat prevention and 1.2 Gbps IPSec VPN throughput driven by SonicWall's patented Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) engine.
  • CONNECTIVITY: 8x1GbE + 2x1G SFP in a desktop form factor; zero-touch deploy and manage on-box or via cloud Network Security Manager (NSM).
  • THREAT PROTECTION: SonicOS 8 delivers intrusion prevention, gateway anti-malware, application control, TLS/SSL decryption, Capture ATP multi-engine sandboxing (RTDMI) and reputation-based content & DNS filtering with an active service subscription.
  • BUILT FOR SMALL BUSINESS & BRANCH: Secure SD-WAN, IPSec and SSL VPN plus Zero-Trust Network Access through Cloud Secure Edge keep distributed sites and remote workers protected.

CYE also announced in April 2025 that its expanded partnership with ALSO would offer Hyver for MSP and Solvo CSPM through ALSO’s partner network across 32 European countries. That describes a specific distribution channel and geography; it does not establish universal availability.

How the documented migration works

CYE’s guide describes different migration paths for Azure and AWS:

Rank #2
SonicWall TZ280 2.5 Gbps Firewall, Secure Upgrade Plus Adv 2-Yr NGFW
  • SECURE UPGRADE PLUS PROGRAM (2-Yr, Advanced Edition): SonicWall upgrade path that bundles a new TZ280 appliance with the Advanced Protection Suite (APSS). REQUIREMENTS: for customers upgrading from an existing SonicWall firewall; a qualifying prior unit may be required at registration.
  • SERVICE BUNDLE – ADVANCED PROTECTION SUITE (APSS): all Essential services plus Capture ATP cloud sandboxing with patented RTDMI, advanced DNS security, cloud Network Security Manager (NSM) management, reporting & analytics, and 24/7 support — SonicWall's recommended all-in security suite.
  • PERFORMANCE: Up to 2.5 Gbps firewall inspection, 1 Gbps threat prevention and 1.2 Gbps IPSec VPN throughput driven by SonicWall's patented Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) engine.
  • CONNECTIVITY: 8x1GbE + 2x1G SFP in a desktop form factor; zero-touch deploy and manage on-box or via cloud Network Security Manager (NSM).
  • BUILT FOR SMALL BUSINESS & BRANCH: Secure SD-WAN, IPSec and SSL VPN plus Zero-Trust Network Access through Cloud Secure Edge keep distributed sites and remote workers protected.
Cloud provider What CYE says customers need to do Important implication
Azure CYE manages the migration without customer action. The guide does not describe a customer approval step for Azure.
AWS An administrator approves read-only IAM permissions by submitting a CYE-provided CloudFormation stack. CYE says the resulting cross-account role has read-only access and no write permissions.

These are CYE’s documented requirements. Teams should consult the current CYE guide and their own cloud administrators before making access or migration changes.

What happens to existing findings and annotations

The migration is not a simple transfer of the old finding history. CYE says Cye CSPM becomes the source of truth for ongoing cloud findings, while legacy and new findings are not merged. Finding categories and severity can also differ. The guide says historical state changes, linked Jira or ServiceNow tickets, comments, and manual overrides do not transfer.

For teams preparing to move, CYE recommends recording critical annotations and validating coverage before marking legacy findings irrelevant. In practice, that means preserving operational context outside the old records where necessary, checking that expected cloud assets are covered in the new view, and reviewing any changed classifications before closing or disregarding older findings.
