Accenture announced on July 8, 2024, that it had acquired Excelmax Technologies, a Bengaluru-based semiconductor design services provider. Accenture said the deal would add about 450 professionals and strengthen its silicon design capabilities; it did not disclose the purchase price or other transaction terms.
What Excelmax does
Excelmax provides custom silicon design services. In its announcement, Accenture described the company’s work as serving consumer devices, data centers, AI and computational platforms that enable edge AI deployments. It also identified automotive, telecommunications and high-tech among Excelmax’s client industries.
The work Accenture described spans high-level design through detailed physical layout prepared for manufacturing, as well as turnkey execution. The announcement presents Excelmax as a design services provider, not as a chip manufacturer.

Accenture said the acquisition would further enhance its silicon design and engineering capabilities. Karthik Narain, Accenture’s group chief executive—Technology, said: “Our acquisition of Excelmax enhances our expertise across every aspect of silicon design and development—from concept to production—so we can help our clients fuel innovation and drive growth.”

How the deal fits Accenture’s silicon design expansion
In a July 10, 2024 announcement about acquiring Cientra, Accenture noted that it had added Excelmax earlier that week and referred to its 2022 addition of XtremeEDA, an Ottawa-based silicon design services company. These announcements show Accenture building out silicon design services through acquisitions, but they do not establish comparative deal values or the success of the strategy.

What is known about the financial terms
Accenture did not disclose the purchase price or other transaction terms for Excelmax. No reliable transaction value is established in the cited announcement, so the company’s size or the approximate team figure should not be used to estimate what Accenture paid.
The July 8 announcement documents the acquisition and Accenture’s intended capability expansion. It does not establish Excelmax’s present-day operating status, employee retention after the deal, realized client outcomes or the acquired work’s financial performance.
