BurstNET Technologies announced growth financing arranged by Harbor Ridge Capital on January 19, 2012, to support a planned 30,000-square-foot data center and expansion into new markets. The announcement did not disclose the investment amount or identify the institutional investor.

Who funded BurstNET’s expansion, and how much did it raise?

Harbor Ridge Capital arranged the growth capital, which came from an unnamed institutional investor. Neither the investor’s identity nor the dollar amount was disclosed in the January 19, 2012 announcement by DataCenterKnowledge. The announcement described the financing as BurstNET’s first institutional capital after the company had bootstrapped its growth; it did not publish investment terms.

What did BurstNET plan to build?

BurstNET planned a 30,000-square-foot facility in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to replace its headquarters. The company said the financing would also support entry into additional markets where demand was high, along with more customer-service and software-development resources.

CEO Shawn Arcus said the larger facility and new capital would help the company pursue larger, more complex hosting and colocation clients. That describes the company’s intended use of the financing, not evidence that the building was completed.
