BlueFlag Security announced a $11.5 million seed round on March 21, 2024, as it emerged from stealth. Maverick Ventures and Ten Eleven Ventures led the round, with additional investment from Pier 88 Investment Partners. That was a seed financing—not BlueFlag’s latest announced funding: in March 2026, the company said it had closed a Series A and raised $28 million in total.

What BlueFlag announced in 2024

BlueFlag’s March 21, 2024 announcement combined its public launch with the seed financing. The company presented itself as an identity-centric security and governance provider for the software development lifecycle (SDLC), covering development through production.

Seed investors

Investor Role in the round
Maverick Ventures Lead investor
Ten Eleven Ventures Lead investor
Pier 88 Investment Partners Additional investor

Frank Timons, CEO of Pier 88 Investment Partners, said in the company’s announcement: “Supporting companies like BlueFlag aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of secure software development.” That is an investor statement carried in BlueFlag’s press release, not independent testing of the product.

Why the $11.5 million figure needs a date

The seed round belongs to 2024. BlueFlag’s March 23, 2026 announcement said the company had subsequently closed a Series A and raised $28 million in total. Therefore, describing $11.5 million as the company’s latest financing would be outdated; it is the amount of the announced seed round.

What BlueFlag says it is building

BlueFlag described one platform intended to address security and governance gaps across the SDLC. Its stated scope includes identity security, open-source software risk management and developer-tool posture management.

An identity-centered approach

The company’s pitch focuses on risk associated with developer and machine identities, rather than treating application security as only a code-scanning problem. In practical terms, that stated approach spans human users, non-human identities and the tools or services that participate in software delivery.

What the announcements do not establish

  • They do not provide independent product testing or comparative performance results.
  • They do not disclose pricing, valuation, financing terms or a complete customer list.
  • They do not establish audited financial results or independently verified growth figures.

What changed by 2026

In its 2026 Series A announcement, BlueFlag said it had added AI agent governance and developer behavioral risk analysis capabilities. The company also reported 300% year-over-year revenue growth in 2025 and a fivefold increase in Fortune 500 enterprise customers. Those figures are company-reported metrics; the cited material does not independently verify them.

BlueFlag’s newsroom also listed an MSSP offering with T-Systems dated April 28, 2026, and participation in Fortinet’s Fabric-Ready Technology Partner Program dated May 29, 2026. These announcements indicate business relationships reported by BlueFlag, not affiliate offers or investment opportunities for individual readers.

What this means for a personal-finance reader

There is no public-stock transaction here

A seed round is private-company financing. The announcement does not offer a public ticker, retail allocation or terms that would let an individual calculate a personal return. Readers should not treat the $11.5 million figure as a share price, valuation or recommendation to invest.

How to read the headline responsibly

  • Use “$11.5 million seed round” for the March 2024 financing.
  • Use “$28 million raised in total” only with the March 2026 Series A announcement and company attribution.
  • Keep BlueFlag’s revenue and customer-growth percentages labeled as management claims.
  • Separate the company’s product description from independent evidence of effectiveness.

Bottom line on BlueFlag’s funding

BlueFlag Security’s emergence from stealth was paired with an $11.5 million seed round led by Maverick Ventures and Ten Eleven Ventures, with Pier 88 Investment Partners also participating. The financing established the company’s initial public funding story in 2024. By March 2026, BlueFlag said a Series A had brought total funding to $28 million, making the seed figure historical rather than current.
