This retrospective records notable prices observed from July 2–4, 2026—not live offers—and explains which discounts were meaningful, which depended on a specific configuration or promotion, and what to check before buying.
Apple’s strongest markdowns generally appeared at third-party retailers, especially on accessories, AirPods, AirTags and selected iPads. Television and smart-home sales were broader, with deeper advertised reductions on some OLED sets, budget 4K TVs, cameras and robot vacuums. Inventory, sellers, coupons and membership requirements could change the final price.

These observations came from July coverage by 9to5Mac, AppleInsider and iClarified. They are historical signals, not a claim that any offer remains available.
Apple deals: where the value was concentrated
AirPods 4
The clearest Apple accessory example was AirPods 4 at $99 versus a listed $129. Confirm whether a listing is the standard model or the version with active noise cancellation; those are different products, so a lower price is not automatically comparable.

AirTag 2
A single AirTag 2 was reported at $27 versus $29, while AppleInsider reported an $89 four-pack. Compare the per-unit cost, and check that the listing is new, sold by an authorized retailer and for the correct generation.
M5 iPad Pro and M4 iPad Air
Coverage reported M5 iPad Pro savings of up to $350, including an 11-inch, 256GB example at $949 versus $1,199. AppleInsider reported iPad discounts as high as $400 across configurations. “Up to” applies to selected models, capacities and sellers, not every iPad Pro.
M4 iPad Air discounts and previous-generation inventory could offer better value when the newer model’s performance or display features are unnecessary. Compare storage, screen size, cellular connectivity and included accessories before treating two prices as equivalent. A modestly discounted high-storage configuration can cost more than a deeply discounted base model while serving a different buyer.

Macs and accessories
AppleInsider reported Mac savings of up to $650, but the maximum applied to particular configurations. Accessories were more consistently discounted: Magic Keyboard listings started around $86, and Magic Mouse listings were reported at $69–$80 depending on color and configuration. Cases, watch bands and charging products also appeared in retailer promotions.

Apple’s own store remains useful for trade-in processing, engraving and uniform support, but third-party retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and warehouse clubs more often supplied the lower cash price. A retailer coupon, membership price or gift card is not the same as an unconditional price cut. iPhone “deals” also commonly take the form of trade-in credits or carrier incentives rather than an outright reduction.
Smart TVs: choose the panel and platform separately
Budget 4K
The reported $129.99 Toshiba 43-inch 4K Fire TV was a strong historical entry-level signal. For a primary screen, 4K is generally preferable to 720p or 1080p, but low-cost sets can compromise on brightness, motion handling, speakers, processing and build quality. Check HDMI ports—three is a practical target if you use a console, soundbar and another device—along with the return policy and delivery fees.

OLED for contrast
Tom’s Guide’s July coverage reported OLED pricing from roughly $599. OLED delivers the best black levels and contrast, but a very bright room and prolonged static images can make Mini-LED a better fit. For gaming, check the exact model for HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rate and low-latency modes rather than assuming every OLED includes the same features.
Mini-LED for bright rooms
Mini-LED sets were reported from roughly $499. They can be brighter and less burn-in-sensitive than OLED, although local-dimming performance varies substantially by model. A previous-year flagship at a sale price may outperform a newly launched midrange television.

LG’s 2026 promotion advertised up to $700 off C6 and G6 OLED models, with a possible gift card of up to $250 and free installation under stated terms. The gift card is separate value, not an immediate reduction in the television’s cash price. Apple-friendly televisions
AirPlay lets an Apple device send content to a compatible television; HomeKit support can enable scenes and device control. Neither turns the television into an Apple TV, and support can differ within one product family. Check the exact model number for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, then value the panel separately from the built-in Roku, Google TV, Fire TV or webOS interface.

Security
The Blink Video Doorbell and Outdoor 4 bundle was reported at $104.99 versus $359.98, a claimed 71% reduction. Before buying, determine whether cloud recording requires a subscription, what works without one, whether batteries are included and whether a hub is part of the package. Prefer a listing sold and shipped by the retailer or an authorized seller.
Robot vacuums and mops
The Shark Matrix Plus was reported at $269.99 versus $699.99. The crossed-out price alone does not establish a bargain: verify the exact generation, dock, brush and mop attachments, floor-type support, navigation features, replacement filters, bags and pads, and warranty terms. Consumables and app features affect the total cost of ownership.

Lighting, thermostats and sensors
Recurring July categories include ecobee thermostats, Govee lighting and fans, Matter bulbs, meross accessories, TP-Link cameras and smart sensors, as documented in earlier July coverage. Those 2024 prices should not be reused as 2026 prices. For any current model, check HVAC compatibility, whether a lighting hub is required, Wi-Fi range, weather resistance and local-recording options.
Matter and ecosystem compatibility
Matter can improve cross-platform setup, but it does not guarantee that every advanced feature works in Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa. Confirm the exact model’s firmware and supported functions. AirPlay, HomeKit, Matter, Alexa and Google Home are separate compatibility claims.
Streaming and audio
The Fire TV Stick 4K Select was reported at $21.99 versus $39.99. Check the model generation, remote capabilities and supported video standards. A cheap stick can be worthwhile when a television’s built-in software is slow or no longer supported, but do not pay for a platform you will not use.
How to verify a July-style deal
- Compare the checkout price with the product’s recent street price, not only the crossed-out MSRP.
- Match the exact model number, screen size, storage, connectivity and model year.
- Identify whether the discount is automatic, coupon-based, membership-only, a trade-in credit or a gift card.
- Add shipping, installation, recycling, mounting and return fees.
- Confirm stock, delivery date and whether the seller is the retailer or a marketplace merchant.
- Check for refurbished, open-box or renewed condition.
- For cameras, doorbells and vacuums, calculate subscriptions and replacement parts.
- Verify Apple Home, AirPlay, Matter, Alexa or Google Home support for the exact model.
- Read warranty terms and confirm authorized-retailer status.
- Treat “all-time low” and “up to” claims as configuration-specific unless a reliable price-history record supports a broader statement.
Common traps and what to do instead
- Expired offer: Label it “was available July 2–4, 2026,” not “buy now,” and remove urgency language.
- Checkout price changes: Recheck coupons, membership status and the selected seller.
- Gift-card inflation: Show the cash price and gift-card value separately.
- Wrong configuration: Put storage, screen size and connectivity in the deal description.
- Subscription surprise: State what remains usable without a recurring plan when that information is confirmed.
- Marketplace risk: Prefer retailer-fulfilled or authorized listings and inspect return and warranty policies.
- Large-TV expenses: Include installation, mounting, haul-away and return logistics in the budget.
What the historical prices mean now
As of August 18, 2026, the Fourth of July promotion window has passed. The prices above are useful benchmarks for judging later retailer promotions, not promises of availability. If a listing has vanished, compare the same model—or a clearly identified prior generation—against its recent street price rather than assuming a new sale matches the July discount.
