These were historical TELUS Canada promotions from November 2021, not current offers. MobileSyrup reported on November 18, 2021 (updated November 26) that TELUS advertised a Lenovo Chromebook with a Motorola One 5G Ace, discounted financing on several phones, temporary Apple services and Samsung accessory discounts. The campaign has expired; use the figures below only to understand what was offered at the time.
MobileSyrup’s contemporaneous report described the Canadian Black Friday lineup. Historical TELUS campaign links may no longer work, and no current August 2026 pricing is established here.
The headline Chromebook promotion
TELUS advertised a Lenovo Chromebook with the purchase of a Motorola One 5G Ace. That means “free Chromebook” was shorthand for hardware included with a qualifying phone purchase, not an unconditional laptop giveaway.
The accessible coverage does not establish the Chromebook’s exact model or specifications, fulfillment timing, whether the phone had to be financed, the required wireless plan, activation or eligibility rules, inventory limits, taxes, or cancellation conditions. The historical Motorola campaign URL was TELUS’s Motorola One 5G Ace configuration page.

Why Bring-It-Back changes the apparent price
A Bring-It-Back payment is not automatically the phone’s full purchase price. The customer generally faces an end-of-term choice: return the device under the contract’s conditions or pay a deferred amount to keep it. The specific deferred balances and return terms were not provided in the accessible coverage.

- all device payments;
- taxes, activation charges and other fees;

“$0 down” describes only the upfront device payment. It does not make the phone free, and the low monthly amount may depend on an eligible plan.
Other TELUS promotions in the report
Apple services with an iPhone
The offer included up to six months of Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade with an iPhone purchase. These were temporary service inclusions, not permanent reductions in a wireless bill. The historical Apple campaign page was TELUS’s Apple offer page.
Samsung accessories
TELUS listed 20% off Samsung watches and 30% off Galaxy Buds2. The accessible page text did not expose the exact destination URLs for those two product links, so no more specific link or eligibility detail can be confirmed.
The $85-per-month 40GB plan
The report mentioned an $85-per-month 40GB plan but clarified that it had already existed for several weeks. November 30, 2021 was the stated promotional end date, not the plan’s launch date.

November 26 update
MobileSyrup’s November 26 update mentioned a further $5-per-month discount on unlimited plans and additional offers. The accessible record does not provide enough terms to reconstruct those additions fully.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who would have benefited?
Customers who already needed a TELUS phone and plan
The bundle could make sense for someone who wanted the Motorola One 5G Ace and TELUS service anyway. The Chromebook’s value would then be an added benefit rather than a reason to accept a more expensive plan.
Customers focused on ownership
Anyone intending to keep a phone should compare a standard financing contract or an unlocked retail purchase with the Bring-It-Back total, including its deferred balance. A low monthly headline can conceal a substantial final payment.
BYOD shoppers
Someone seeking the lowest ongoing wireless cost, or who did not need a new phone, should compare a bring-your-own-device plan and an outright phone purchase. A bonus Chromebook may not offset higher service and financing costs.

Accessory and streaming shoppers

What cannot be verified today
The original TELUS deal pages linked in the 2021 coverage were not retrievable for this historical record. Consequently, the Chromebook’s retail value, exact contract conditions, inventory, sales channel, customer eligibility, plan requirements and final Bring-It-Back balances remain unstated. Do not treat the old campaign links as live offers:
- Historical TELUS Black Friday deals hub
- TELUS deals and bundles (current destination, with no 2021 terms implied)
Any website presenting the 2021 prices as available now would be misleading without independently verified current TELUS terms.
Quick Recap
How to judge a similar carrier promotion
- Confirm the exact phone model, storage version and contract term.
- Separate standard financing from any return-or-pay arrangement.
- Request the deferred balance and device-condition rules in writing.
- Add plan charges, device payments, taxes and fees over the full term.
- Value temporary subscriptions and bundled hardware only at what you would otherwise pay.
- Compare the result with an unlocked purchase and a BYOD plan.
