Yes. Twitter’s former Super Follows feature is still available in a renamed form: X now presents it as Creator Subscriptions or simply Subscriptions. Eligible creators can charge a recurring monthly fee for subscriber-only posts, replies, Spaces and other access. It is not an open-to-everyone tip jar: X requires a Premium plan, identity and payment checks, 2,000 qualifying followers and 5 million organic impressions in the previous three months, among other conditions.
The original 2021 launch used the Super Follows name and advertised $2.99, $4.99 and $9.99 monthly options. Those were launch prices, not a confirmed current menu. X says creators select from the price points available in their account and can earn up to approximately 97% of gross subscription revenue before applicable deductions.

What Super Follows became on X
Twitter introduced Super Follows in 2021 as a monthly subscription for bonus content and closer conversations. X’s current documentation uses Subscriptions, and eligible profiles show a Subscribe button. The historical announcement is at Twitter’s 2021 Super Follows announcement; current creator instructions are in X’s Creator Subscriptions help page.
The rename matters when you try to set up the feature. Searching X for a button labelled “Super Follow” may lead nowhere; look in Creator Studio for Subscriptions instead.

What subscribers receive
X’s product is a recurring payment for access and content inside the platform. A creator can combine several benefits rather than simply hiding every post from non-subscribers.
Subscriber-only posts
Creators can publish posts restricted to subscribers. Public posts and previews can still promote the offer, so the free feed remains part of the conversion path.
Subscriber-only replies
A creator can leave the original post public while limiting replies to subscribers. This is useful for paid questions, community discussion or a members’ thread attached to a public announcement.
Subscriber-only Spaces
Spaces provide live audio access for paying members, such as private Q&As, briefings or office hours.

Subscriber badges appear beside a subscriber’s replies to the creator, helping identify paying supporters. X also provides subscription links that can be shared on and off X. A badge identifies membership; it is not itself exclusive content. See X’s subscriber help page for the subscriber view and purchase routes.

Who can apply?
X’s Subscriptions Policy sets a demanding baseline. An applicant must meet all of these published conditions:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have an account active for at least three months and have posted during the past 30 days.
- Maintain a complete profile with a name, biography, profile photo and header image.
- Use a verified email address and two-factor authentication.
- Maintain an active X Premium, X Premium Business or X Premium Organizations subscription.
- Have at least 2,000 active followers who have Premium subscriptions.
- Have at least 5 million organic impressions during the previous three months.
- Complete identity verification and connect a verified Stripe account.
- Remain compliant with X’s User Agreement, monetization standards and Subscriptions terms, without deceptive impersonation or a repeated record of violations.
“2,000 followers” therefore does not mean any 2,000 accounts. The Premium-follower qualification, impression threshold and other checks all apply. Meeting the figures does not guarantee approval; X can pause, limit, suspend or terminate access under its policies and Creator Subscriptions terms.
How to apply and configure it
- Open X’s sidebar and choose Creator Studio.
- Open Subscriptions and submit the application.
- Complete account, identity and payment requirements, including Stripe setup.
- Choose an available monthly price point and describe the subscriber benefits.
- Wait for X’s review and, if approved, publish the offer.
Menu names can differ by web, iOS, Android, country and account status. X says most subscription-price change requests—not necessarily initial applications—are reviewed within one to two business days. Applications and purchases are subject to payment-provider and regional availability.
How followers subscribe
A follower can open the creator’s profile and select Subscribe, use a shared subscription link, or select the subscription button shown with a subscriber-only post preview. They then review the offer and complete payment through X. Purchases are documented as available on iOS, Android and the web, subject to regional and payment restrictions.
How much can creators charge?
Creators select from the price points X makes available rather than entering any amount they want. The launch article listed $2.99, $4.99 and $9.99 per month in 2021, but X’s current public help text does not publish a complete price table. Check the live Creator Studio setup screen before advertising a price.

The creator’s subscription price is separate from the creator’s own required X Premium, Premium Business or Premium Organizations cost. X says Premium prices vary by region and are shown in its web or mobile purchase flow at the X Premium help page.
How much money does a creator keep?
X says creators can earn up to approximately 97% of gross subscription revenue. “Up to” is important: the figure is not a guaranteed net percentage of the price a subscriber pays.
- Apple or Google in-app purchase fees may apply.
- Third-party payment-processing fees may apply.
- Refunds and cancellations reduce revenue.
- Chargebacks can be deducted from estimated earnings, including related fees.
X’s Creator Dashboard documentation also says that after a creator reaches $50,000 in lifetime earnings across X monetization products, the rate may be up to 90% of the revenue X has earned after in-app purchase fees. Stripe processes payments, and Stripe determines payout eligibility and available payout methods based on the creator’s location.
Consequently, multiplying the sticker price by 97% is not a reliable payout forecast. Keep records for refunds, chargebacks, payment fees, taxes and the required Premium subscription. X’s FAQ topics also note that tax reporting, including possible U.S. Form 1099 obligations, may apply.
What should a paid offer include?
A sustainable offer gives subscribers something meaningfully different from the free feed, while staying within X’s rules. Examples include:

- This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied.
- Product may come in generic Box.
- Early analysis, previews or behind-the-scenes posts.
- Extra threads, research notes or educational explanations.
- Subscriber Q&As and recurring office hours.
- Subscriber-only Spaces tied to a predictable schedule.
- A smaller discussion group around a specialist topic.
- Subscriber-only replies to selected public posts.
Be specific about what is private, how often it appears and whether live access is guaranteed. Creators must own or have appropriate rights to third-party material, including music, clips, images and broadcast footage. X’s Creator Monetization Standards also prohibit using the monetization product for illegal goods or harmful activity, and it is not a substitute for delivering physical goods or services in exchange for currency.

The Subscriptions option is missing
Check Creator Studio or Monetization, confirm the eligible Premium plan, identity verification, two-factor authentication, Stripe connection, follower and impression thresholds, and regional payment availability. Review the Subscriptions Policy and monetization standards. If every requirement appears satisfied, contact X support; the interface may have changed or access may be restricted.
You have 2,000 followers but remain ineligible
The threshold concerns active followers with Premium subscriptions, not total followers. The 5-million organic-impression requirement and every account, activity, identity and policy condition still apply.
A subscriber cancels or files a chargeback
Refunds, cancellations and chargebacks lower revenue. X may deduct chargeback amounts and associated fees from estimated creator earnings.
You deactivate the offering
X warns that deactivation causes the creator to lose active subscribers. Re-enrollment requires meeting the eligibility criteria again.

A subscriber uses multiple X accounts
X says one X account can subscribe to and access a particular creator’s subscription, with additional restrictions linked to the relevant Apple ID, Google Account or web purchase.
A subscriber expects every post to be private
That is not how the product necessarily works. Public posts, public previews and subscriber-only replies can coexist with fully restricted posts and Spaces. State the exact benefits in the offer description.
Is X Subscriptions a good financial fit?
It is most defensible when the audience already spends time on X, the paid value depends on real-time discussion or Spaces, and the creator can consistently produce material distinct from the free feed. It is also a better fit for an established account already close to the unusually high thresholds.
Consider another platform when the audience is elsewhere, the business needs email ownership, downloadable products, courses, sophisticated member management or portable customer records, or when rights-sensitive material creates repeated copyright risk. X can pause or terminate access, so relying on it as the only customer relationship creates platform risk.

Bottom line
Twitter Super Follows is real, but the current product name is X Creator Subscriptions. It can turn an established, X-native audience into recurring revenue through protected posts, replies and Spaces. The high Premium, follower, impression, identity and policy requirements make it unsuitable as a beginner monetization shortcut, and the headline “up to approximately 97%” is not a guaranteed net payout. Verify the live price menu, calculate deductions and keep another way to reach customers before treating X subscriptions as a core income stream.
