Amazon’s reported early Black Friday promotion cut the unlocked Samsung Galaxy A36 5G with 128GB storage to $299.99, down from a listed $399.99. That was a $100, or 25%, reduction when Android Headlines reported it on November 21, 2025.
The evidence confirms a historical deal, not a live August 2026 offer. Check the retailer page for today’s price, seller, condition, shipping and return terms before buying. The reported $299.99 applied to 128GB—not the separately reported 256GB model.
What the reported deal included
| Configuration | Reported deal price | Reported regular price | Reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unlocked Galaxy A36 5G, 128GB | $299.99 | $399.99 | $100 (25%) |
| Unlocked Galaxy A36 5G, 256GB | $374.99 | $474.99 | $100 |
The $399.99 reference for the unlocked 128GB U.S. model is also listed in Samsung’s U.S. MSRP file. A reference price is not proof that the phone consistently sold at that amount immediately before the promotion, and there is no evidence here that $299.99 was an all-time low.
The original report did not establish an end date, stock level, seller identity, shipping promise, return policy or any Amazon-specific condition. Amazon listings can change between sellers, so confirm that the unit is new and unlocked rather than renewed, open-box or carrier-locked.

What you get for roughly $300
Display and design protection
- 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Up to 1,200 nits in high-brightness mode
- Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and rear
- IP67 dust and water resistance
Samsung’s IP67 rating refers to laboratory testing in fresh water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Samsung warns that resistance can diminish over time and does not recommend beach, pool or high-pressure-water use. It is protection against specified exposure, not waterproofing.
Battery and charging
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery capacity; the rated capacity is 4,905mAh. Battery-life figures based on test conditions are estimates, not a guarantee of multi-day endurance. The phone supports 45W wired charging, but the wall charger is sold separately.

Cameras, software and security

128GB or 256GB?
The reported historical gap was $75: $299.99 for 128GB versus $374.99 for 256GB. Choose based on how long you intend to keep the phone and how much media you store.
- 128GB: sensible for light-to-moderate app use, cloud photos and streaming.
- 256GB: worth considering for large games, downloaded video, extensive photos or several years of use.
Storage and memory configurations vary by market, carrier and region. The cited U.S. material does not establish a microSD slot, so do not assume expandable storage; verify the exact U.S. SKU before purchase.
Important checks before ordering
- Confirm the price date: the $299.99 report is from November 21, 2025. Do not present it as an August 2026 price without checking the live listing.
- Verify the configuration: make sure the selected item says 128GB if you expect the reported deal price; 256GB was a different listing.
- Check seller and condition: confirm “new,” unlocked status, warranty, return window and delivery date.
- Check carrier compatibility: unlocked does not guarantee every carrier’s 5G band, voice feature or certification. Verify the model with your carrier.
- Budget for charging: add a compatible 45W charger if you do not already own one.
- Account for checkout cost: the reported price excludes applicable sales tax and may vary by location.
Who should buy at $299.99?
- Shoppers who want a new, unlocked Samsung phone below $300.
- Buyers prioritizing an AMOLED screen, large battery, IP67 protection and long software support.
- Samsung ecosystem users with Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Watch or Samsung Wallet.
- Owners replacing an older Galaxy A-series phone who prefer a large display and extended update commitment.
Who should wait or skip?
- Heavy gamers who need sustained flagship-class performance.
- Camera buyers seeking premium zoom or independently verified low-light results.
- People who want a compact phone or an included wall charger.
- Anyone who requires expandable storage without verifying that the specific regional model supports it.
- Shoppers whose priority is the absolute lowest price; carrier promotions, Motorola or OnePlus models, Pixels, and refurbished flagships may offer different trade-offs.
Bottom line on the deal
If a live listing offers a new, unlocked 128GB Galaxy A36 5G for $299.99, it is a strong value for shoppers who care more about Samsung’s display, durability and support policy than top-tier gaming or cameras. The historical promotion itself is verified, but its end date and any current price are not. If the price has risen materially, compare newer A-series phones, carrier terms and competing midrange models rather than assuming the old Black Friday price still applies.
