For a $999.99 phone financed over 24 months, the equipment charge was approximately $41.67 per month. A $1,000 promotion spread over the same period was also approximately $41.67 per month, making the equipment charge appear to be zero after credits post.

When the offer could make financial sense
- You already have a qualifying premium plan and would keep it for all 24 months.
- Your trade-in is confirmed for the highest promotional tier.
- You are comfortable paying taxes on the full price and the connection charge upfront.

When buying unlocked may be cheaper
