There is no authoritative Kelley Blue Book (KBB) ranking of 10 pickup trucks for 2025. KBB’s 2025 Best Resale Value Awards identify three pickup category winners: the Ford Maverick (compact), Toyota Tacoma (midsize) and Toyota Tundra (full-size). KBB publishes a projected five-year retention figure for the Tacoma (64.1%) and Tundra (60.9%), but not a pickup-specific percentage for the Maverick in the release.
What KBB actually ranked in 2025
KBB’s awards measure how much of a vehicle’s original MSRP it is projected to retain after the first five years of ownership. The residual values used for the 2025 awards came from the January/February 2025 Kelley Blue Book Official Residual Value Guide.
KBB’s overall top-10 table is not a pickup-only list. It includes the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra alongside the Chevrolet Corvette, Toyota 4Runner, Ford Bronco, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Porsche 911 and Toyota GR Supra. Recasting that mixed-vehicle list as 10 pickups would be inaccurate.
The three 2025 KBB pickup winners
2025 Ford Maverick — compact pickup winner
The 2025 Ford Maverick won KBB’s compact pickup category. The 2025 release does not state a specific five-year retention percentage for the Maverick, so no defensible percentage should be assigned to it from this award.

2025 Toyota Tacoma — midsize pickup winner
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma won the midsize pickup category and appears in KBB’s overall top 10 with a projected 64.1% five-year resale-value retention. In practical terms, that projection says a Tacoma would retain about 64.1% of its original MSRP after five years under KBB’s valuation model—not that every Tacoma will sell for that amount.
2025 Toyota Tundra — full-size pickup winner
The 2025 Toyota Tundra won the full-size pickup category and has a projected 60.9% five-year retention in KBB’s overall top 10. That makes it the strongest full-size pickup in KBB’s 2025 category awards, although the release does not establish how many percentage points it leads other full-size trucks by.

How to interpret the percentages
They are projections, not guaranteed sale prices
The 64.1% and 60.9% figures are forecast residual values. They are not guaranteed private-party prices, trade-in offers or dealer transaction prices. Actual value depends on configuration, mileage, condition, accident history, location, incentives paid at purchase and market conditions when the truck is sold.

The percentage is tied to the original MSRP
A retention rate describes the share of the vehicle’s original manufacturer’s suggested retail price that KBB expects to remain after five years. It does not tell you the dollar amount without the specific truck’s original MSRP, options and equipment.
Category wins are not the same as a complete market ranking
Maverick, Tacoma and Tundra each won a class. The award does not provide a ten-model pickup table covering every compact, midsize, full-size and heavy-duty truck, nor does it publish a complete margin over every competitor.
Rank #4
Does the Tundra hold value better than other full-size trucks?
KBB’s 2025 award names the Tundra the full-size pickup winner and gives it a 60.9% projected five-year retention rate. That supports calling it KBB’s leading full-size pickup for the award year. It does not support a precise claim that it retains more value than every rival by a known margin, because the release does not provide a full competitor table.

iSeeCars describes a different depreciation analysis based on more than three million vehicles and separates results into small, midsize, full-size and heavy-duty categories. The truck page available for comparison is labeled 2026, so its results are methodological context rather than 2025 evidence. Combining those figures with KBB’s 2025 projections would mix both the measurement method and the model year.

What a genuine top-10 pickup list would require
A defensible ten-truck ranking should use one dated dataset that covers the same model year, defines resale or depreciation consistently, reports comparable classes and configurations, and identifies whether its numbers are forecasts or observed transactions. Until such a table is published, the accurate 2025 KBB answer is the three-winner list above—not a manufactured top 10.
