AMD lists a January 29, 2026 launch date for the 8-core, 16-thread AM5 chip. The clearest observed buying options were Overclockers UK at £374.99 including VAT, Memory Express in Canada at C$689.99 after an instant discount, and Canada Computers for location-specific pickup at C$689.98. US product pages exist at AMD and Best Buy, but the captured results did not expose dependable checkout prices or stock. Prices and inventory below are snapshots last observed on August 16, 2026 (Newegg Canada’s page was crawled about a month earlier), not guarantees for October 2026.
AMD’s product page identifies the processor as Zen 5, AM5, DDR5, PCIe 5.0, up to 5.6 GHz boost, 120 W TDP, and integrated Radeon graphics.

The AMD Store listing is the cleanest way to confirm the exact product identity and buy directly when checkout stock is available. The captured search result did not provide a dependable price, shipping promise, or stock state, so treat the page as a live check rather than proof of availability.

Best Buy
Best Buy’s US page exists, but inspect the seller field, delivery date, and return terms. A marketplace offer is not equivalent to inventory sold and fulfilled by Best Buy.
Other US stores
Do not assume Newegg or Amazon has current stock from an old search result. Micro Center is worth checking for local pickup or a bundle only when its own live product page confirms it; a Reddit deal report is not confirmation of current inventory.

- The world’s fastest gaming processor, built on AMD ‘Zen5’ technology and Next Gen 3D V-Cache.
- 8 cores and 16 threads, delivering +~16% IPC uplift and great power efficiency
- 96MB L3 cache with better thermal performance vs. previous gen and allowing higher clock speeds, up to 5.2GHz
- Drop-in ready for proven Socket AM5 infrastructure
- Cooler not included
UK: Overclockers UK is the strongest captured lead
The Overclockers UK listing showed in stock at £374.99 including VAT, reduced from £449.99 when captured. It identifies product number 100-100001973WOF, useful for avoiding a mix-up with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The page stated UK and Ireland availability and offered mainland delivery and collection options.
- Check the delivered total, not only the VAT-inclusive headline price.
- Confirm whether delivery covers mainland UK, Northern Ireland, or the Republic of Ireland.
- Verify that the item is a retail boxed processor rather than an OEM or tray part.
- Read the retailer’s warranty and return conditions before paying.
Canada: distinguish online stock from pickup
Memory Express
Memory Express showed online-store availability and quantities across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. The captured price was C$689.99 after C$30 instant savings (regular C$719.99), with the promotion stated to end August 23, 2026 at 03:59 EDT. Inventory information was explicitly not guaranteed; enter your postal code and read the online-order pickup rules before relying on a quantity.

Canada Computers
Canada Computers showed C$689.98, with online sales sold out but store pickup available at selected locations. The captured page showed three units at London, Ontario. Select a store or enter a postal code; a national product page does not guarantee stock at your branch.
Newegg Canada
The Newegg Canada listing showed C$689.99, sold and shipped by Newegg, with free 30-day returns displayed. Because that page was crawled roughly a month before the August 16 capture, recheck stock, tax, shipping, and the final cart total.

9850X3D or 9800X3D?
Both chips are 8-core/16-thread, 120 W AM5 processors with 104 MB total cache in AMD comparison material. The 9850X3D’s headline specification advantage is its up-to-5.6 GHz maximum boost. AMD comparison specifications do not by themselves establish a particular gaming-performance percentage.
- Buy the 9850X3D now when you already have an AM5 platform, want the higher-clocked X3D model, and can buy from a verified seller near the $499 US launch-MSRP level or its local equivalent.
- Choose the 9800X3D or wait when the premium is substantial, you still need a motherboard, DDR5 and cooling, or a faster graphics card would improve the build more.
- Consider a higher-core non-X3D CPU if productivity workloads outweigh gaming.
Compatibility and checkout checklist
- Confirm the title says Ryzen 7 9850X3D and the part number is 100-100001973WOF.
- Use an AM5 motherboard and check its manufacturer CPU-support list for the required BIOS version; AM5 alone does not guarantee immediate boot support.
- Budget for DDR5 memory and a separate CPU cooler—the 9850X3D includes no stock cooler.
- Check motherboard power delivery, case airflow, and cooler clearance for a 120 W processor.
- Verify the listing is retail boxed, not OEM or tray.
- Confirm whether the seller and fulfillment party are the retailer or a marketplace vendor.
- Enter your ZIP or postal code to validate delivery date or store-specific quantity.
- Review taxes, VAT, shipping, import or brokerage charges, return window, and warranty before submitting payment.
If the listing disappears
- Use the retailer’s stock-alert or wishlist feature.
- Recheck official AMD and country-specific retailer pages rather than relying on search snippets.
- For Canada and the US, test nearby stores individually for pickup.
- Remove an expired promotion from your budget instead of assuming the captured price still applies.
- Reject listings with an unexplained importer, missing part number, or unclear return responsibility.
AMD announced retail and system availability beginning in Q1 2026 in its CES 2026 release; the uneven retailer states above are normal for a product whose pages and inventory update independently.
The Bottom Line
The best verified captured deal was Overclockers UK at £374.99 including VAT. In Canada, Memory Express offered online and store availability at C$689.99 after its stated discount, while Canada Computers was a pickup-only opportunity in selected locations. US shoppers should begin with AMD direct and verify Best Buy’s seller and checkout status. In every country, match the 100-100001973WOF part number, confirm boxed retail fulfillment, and treat price and stock as live checkout data—not search-result promises.
