South Korea remains the center for advanced chips, displays and selected mobile production, while Vietnam, India, Brazil, Mexico, China, Europe, Southeast Asia and the United States handle different products and markets. The exact origin depends on the product category, model, sales region and production batch.
The figures below primarily reflect Samsung’s 2025 activity as reported in its 2026 Sustainability Report and production disclosures.
Samsung’s manufacturing network at a glance
This article concerns Samsung Electronics, the company behind Galaxy devices, televisions, appliances, semiconductors, displays and network equipment. It is not a map of every Samsung Group affiliate. Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Harman have distinct operations and ownership structures.
Samsung Electronics reported 221 sites worldwide at the end of 2025, including 33 manufacturing sites. The remainder included sales offices, research and development centers, design centers, purchasing centers and other facilities. The company reported 259,149 employees, operations in 76 countries and 2,473 suppliers. See the 2026 Sustainability Report.

- DS (Device Solutions): memory, foundry and system LSI semiconductors.
Samsung’s current operations page lists validated DX manufacturing locations in South Korea, Slovakia, China, India, Brazil, Poland, Egypt, Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand, the United States, Türkiye, Hungary and Malaysia. It separately lists DS locations in South Korea, China and the United States. That list reflects sites covered by Samsung’s Zero Waste to Landfill validation, not necessarily every supplier, affiliate, contract manufacturer or production line.
Where Samsung Galaxy phones are made
Samsung’s 2025 production disclosure identifies major smartphone production in Vietnam, India, South Korea and Brazil. It reported approximately 214.259 million smartphones in 2025. The production filing is available at this company-filing mirror.
Vietnam
Vietnam is one of Samsung’s largest smartphone and consumer-electronics hubs, with operations around Bac Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City and the Hanoi area. It is a major export base, but it is not the source of every Galaxy phone.
India
Samsung operates major Indian production, including Noida in Uttar Pradesh and Chennai. Samsung’s operations listing names both cities. Noida is an important manufacturing site, not proof that every phone sold in India or worldwide is made there.

South Korea remains important for higher-value and advanced production. Samsung’s disclosures identify Gumi as a major Korean smartphone location, alongside the country’s extensive semiconductor and research infrastructure.
Rank #2
Brazil
Brazil supplies smartphones and other electronics for Latin American markets. Regional production does not mean every Latin American Samsung product is made there.
Why one Galaxy model can have different origins
A commercial model family may be assembled in different countries according to sales region, tariffs, local-content rules, capacity, demand, certification requirements and component availability. The same phone name therefore does not guarantee one country of manufacture.
Where Samsung TVs and monitors are made
Samsung’s 2025 disclosure identifies major television, monitor and related-product production in Mexico, Vietnam, Brazil and Hungary, with approximately 44.361 million units produced in 2025.

| Brazil | Regional production for Latin American markets |
| Hungary | European television and monitor manufacturing |
Slovakia and other European locations also appear in Samsung’s validated DX footprint. A European television is not automatically made in Hungary or Slovakia; allocation varies by model and market.
Where Samsung appliances are made
Refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and cooking appliances use a distributed regional model. Samsung’s validated DX footprint includes manufacturing in Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil, India, South Korea, Thailand, Poland, Slovakia, Türkiye, Egypt, Malaysia and other Southeast Asian locations.

Samsung does not publish a single public country-to-model map for every appliance. For a reliable answer, use the product’s label, packaging or market-specific documentation rather than assuming that all appliances in a product family come from one plant.
Where Samsung chips and memory are made
South Korea’s semiconductor cluster
Samsung’s Korean semiconductor operations include Giheung, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, Onyang and Cheonan. These facilities support memory, foundry, system LSI and associated packaging, testing and research activities.

Samsung identifies Xi’an, Suzhou and Tianjin among its Chinese semiconductor operations. Its 2025 production disclosure places major memory production in South Korea and China, reporting approximately 2,245,908 million 1Gb equivalents of memory output.
United States: Austin and Taylor
Samsung Semiconductor identifies Austin, Texas, as operating processes from 65 nm to 14 nm. Taylor, Texas, is a newer large-scale foundry expansion intended to add U.S. capacity. Its construction, ramp-up and production status should not be confused with a claim that the entire site is already operating at full capacity. Details are maintained on Samsung’s manufacturing-sites page.
Memory, foundry and system LSI are different
Memory chips store data; foundry manufacturing makes chips designed by Samsung or other customers; system LSI covers logic products such as processors and image-related chips. Packaging and testing can occur at different facilities from wafer fabrication.
Rank #4
Displays and automotive electronics
Display panels
Display-panel manufacturing is associated primarily with Samsung Display, a separate Samsung affiliate rather than a simple extension of Galaxy assembly. Samsung Electronics’ wider disclosures identify South Korea as the core location for display-panel production. A phone assembled in Vietnam or India can therefore contain a panel made elsewhere.

Harman automotive products
Harman, a Samsung company, makes audio, connected-car and digital-cockpit products. Samsung’s 2025 product summary identifies Harman digital-cockpit manufacturing in Mexico, Hungary and China. These products are part of Samsung’s broader electronics story but are not ordinary Samsung-branded phones or televisions.
What “made by Samsung” actually means
Manufacturing origin is only one stage of a product’s supply chain:
- Design and research: engineers define the product and its software, hardware and manufacturing requirements.
- Component production: displays, memory, processors, camera modules, batteries and other parts may come from Samsung affiliates or outside suppliers.
- Final assembly: a Samsung facility or manufacturing partner combines the components.
- Testing and quality control: finished units are inspected and certified for the intended market.
- Packaging and distribution: products move through regional warehouses, importers and retailers.
“Made in Vietnam,” for example, generally identifies the legally recognized final manufacturing or substantial-transformation origin. It is not a complete bill of materials. Samsung also uses external suppliers, so not every part in a Samsung-assembled product was made by Samsung.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Samsung still making products in China?
Yes, but the answer depends on the product. Current disclosures identify China as a significant location for memory semiconductors and selected Harman and other operations. Recent smartphone disclosures emphasize Korea, Vietnam, India and Brazil instead. That distinction is more accurate than saying either that all Samsung phones are made in China or that Samsung has no manufacturing there.

How to check where your Samsung product was made
- Inspect the rear label, frame or engraved regulatory marking.
- Check the product box for “Made in” or “Manufactured in” wording.
- Record the exact model and serial number; regional variants can differ.
- Review importer, distributor and certification labels required in your market.
- Compare the result with Samsung’s regional support or warranty documentation.
Do not infer origin from the Galaxy model name, chipset, carrier or country where you bought the product. The label normally identifies final assembly or legally recognized origin, not every component’s source.
Environmental and labor information about the sites
Samsung reported Platinum Zero Waste to Landfill validation for 22 DX sites and 10 DS sites in 2025. It also reported a 94.8% renewable-energy transition rate for the DX Division in 2025 and a goal of 100% across business sites by 2027. These are company-reported site and electricity-accounting metrics, not proof that every product is carbon-free.
Samsung says Vietnam, China, India, Türkiye and Egypt expanded power-purchase-agreement procurement, while its Brazilian and Mexican Latin American manufacturing sites reached stated 100% renewable-electricity transition levels in 2025. Such claims can include PPAs, renewable-energy certificates, green pricing and related accounting methods.
The company also describes supplier labor-rights monitoring and Responsible Business Alliance audits. Those programs indicate Samsung’s stated governance processes; they do not independently certify every supplier or factory condition.
The practical answer
Samsung’s footprint is best understood as a regional manufacturing system. Korea concentrates advanced technologies, semiconductors, displays and selected mobile production; Vietnam and India are major phone bases; Brazil, Mexico, Europe and Southeast Asia serve regional consumer-electronics demand; and China and the United States support selected semiconductor and specialized operations.
For a specific device, the only dependable answer is the “Made in” or “Manufactured in” information on that unit or its market documentation.
