Best clean deal: Samsung lists the unlocked 128GB Galaxy S25 at $699.99, reduced from $799.99. Samsung also shows trade-in credit of up to $582 on that configuration, but the actual amount depends on your phone and its condition. Carrier promotions can produce a lower effective price, including $0 monthly payments, but usually require an eligible trade-in, plan and months of bill credits.
This guide covers U.S. offers visible around August 16, 2026. Prices, inventory and promotion terms can change without notice, so confirm the final cart and checkout terms.

Best overall: the unlocked Galaxy S25 from Samsung
The $699.99 128GB unlocked S25 is the strongest verifiable uncomplicated offer. It is a one-time device price, does not require maintaining a carrier plan for credits, and gives you a factory-unlocked Samsung phone. Samsung’s product page presents taxes and shipping separately from certain payment displays, so budget for those costs.
#1 Best Overall
- MULTIPLE TASKS WITH ONE ASK: Streamline your day with an assistant that gets you. Ask it to Google search for a pet-friendly vegan restaurant nearby and text it to your friend— your Galaxy S25+ handles multiple tasks with a single ask.¹
- START THE DAY SMARTER: Stay one step ahead with a phone that gives you the info you need before you even know you need it with Now Brief.²
- REDUCE THE NOISE. REVEAL THE MAGIC: AI Camera with Audio Eraser lets you capture vibrant videos in low light and minimize unwanted noises so you can relive your favorite moments with fewer distractions.³
- BRING OUT THE BEST IN EVERY FACE: Capture every portrait with clarity and confidence on the Galaxy S25+ Series. The advanced portrait features adjust skin tones and preserve natural textures, giving every shot a polished, professional look.
- MORE POWER TO YOU: Reimagine what’s possible with the Galaxy S25+, featuring our most powerful processor yet. Effortlessly translate your calls, slow down a video, or edit your photos without skipping a beat.
The 256GB page shows $799.99, reduced from $899.99. Because Samsung’s pages can show different promotional states, select storage, color and unlocked status and verify the final total before paying.
Samsung’s broader offer page advertises “up to” trade-in amounts for the S25 family. Those are maximums for selected devices, not guaranteed values for every customer.
Best no-trade-in deal
If you have no eligible phone—or want to keep or sell your old phone—the $100 direct reduction is the clearest no-trade-in saving. It can beat a larger advertised carrier discount when that discount requires a more expensive plan, a new line or three years of bill credits.
- Choose no trade-in when you may change carriers soon.
- Choose it when your old phone is worth more in a private sale.
- Choose it when you do not want inspection, shipping or credit-reversal risk.
Samsung lists discount programs for eligible students, teachers, government employees, military members and corporate employees, with savings of up to 30% depending on eligibility and the item. Check the program terms before assuming the discount stacks with another promotion.

Best trade-in approach: compare three real values
Get a quote from Samsung, your carrier and a reputable private-sale or buyback service. Compare the final value after fees and commitments, not just the largest headline.
Samsung instant trade-in
Samsung applies the anticipated credit during checkout. Its S25 terms generally require that the old device:
- powers on and holds a charge;
- has a functional display without prohibited cracks or damage;
- has no liquid damage or blacklist status;
- is factory-reset with personal data removed;
- has account locks and software locks disabled; and
- is owned by you rather than leased.
Samsung says the device generally must be shipped within 15 days of receiving the new phone. If it is late or fails inspection, Samsung can charge back the anticipated credit; its terms also describe a possible $25 deduction in certain failed-eligibility situations. Photograph the device, IMEI or serial number, working screen and shipping receipt before mailing it.
Carrier bill-credit trade-in
A carrier usually applies the promotion over time rather than reducing the purchase price immediately. Use this calculation:

Effective phone cost = device payments − total promotional credits + taxes, activation or upgrade fees and any required plan premium.
Future credits can stop if you cancel the line, change to an ineligible plan, upgrade early, fail the trade-in inspection or otherwise break the promotion rules. Verizon explicitly says credits end when eligibility requirements are no longer met; see its promotion FAQ.
Retailer trade-in
Retailers may combine a lower price, gift card, activation incentive and trade-in. Do not add every advertised number together unless the specific terms expressly permit stacking.
What “up to $500+” really means
Samsung’s maximum applies only to selected devices and conditions. Model, storage, condition and the active promotion can change the quote, and Samsung says eligible devices and credit amounts may change at its discretion. A cracked or damaged phone may receive less or be rejected unless a particular cracked-screen offer applies. Save the quote shown for your exact device before ordering.

Are Galaxy S25 gifts actually free?
Samsung currently lists a six-month SiriusXM offer for eligible Galaxy S25-series purchases. It is a subscription benefit, not a free pair of earbuds or watch. Samsung says the subscription can automatically renew at the then-current rate unless cancelled. Check the trial length, renewal price and cancellation deadline.
The S25 offers page also contains older or limited-date benefits, including LumaFusion and Storyblocks language. Do not treat those, or physical accessories, as current entitlements unless the gift appears in your cart or order summary. A gift card, Samsung Credit, accessory discount and subscription trial are not equivalent to free hardware.
Samsung direct versus a carrier
Samsung direct is better when
- You want an unlocked phone immediately.
- You prefer an immediate trade-in reduction over future credits.
- You may switch carriers before a promotion ends.
- You want a transparent one-time device price.
A carrier is better when
- You already have the qualifying plan.
- You will keep the line for the entire credit period.
- The plan premium is lower than the device savings.
- You accept activation, upgrade, tax and payoff rules.
A phone advertised as free can still require a trade-in, new line, higher-tier plan and 24–36 months of service. Paying off the device early does not necessarily preserve future credits; read the particular promotion’s payoff language first.

Galaxy S25+
Consider the S25+ when the price gap is modest and you value a larger display, larger battery or more storage. Samsung advertises up to $500+ trade-in credit for it, but the exact quote is device-specific.
Galaxy S25 Ultra
The Ultra costs more but can make sense for buyers who specifically need its premium camera system, larger display or other top-tier hardware. Samsung’s current offers page shows an advertised maximum of up to $520+ trade-in credit. A high quote can narrow the gap, but test it with your own phone.
Galaxy S25 FE
The FE is a value alternative within the S25 family. Samsung’s offers page lists up to $500+ trade-in credit, but do not assume that maximum applies to your device or that FE pricing matches the base S25.
Use this Samsung trade-in checklist
- Select the model, storage and unlocked or carrier version.
- Choose “Yes” for trade-in and identify your old phone.
- Answer every condition question accurately and record the quote.
- Place the order only after checking taxes, shipping and any financing terms.
- Wait for the new phone, then back up data and transfer authentication apps and eSIMs.
- Remove Apple, Google and Samsung account locks, factory-reset the old phone and photograph it.
- Ship it within Samsung’s stated deadline and retain tracking information.
- Watch for the inspection result and follow the dispute process if the quote is changed.
Do not send a phone that is still financed or leased until the payoff and trade-in rules clearly allow it.

The S25 is a rational purchase if its discount is substantial, you do not need the newest processor or features, and the price gap to the S26 matters more than having the newest generation. Compare the final S25 checkout total—including trade-in conditions—with the S26 price, rather than comparing launch prices.
Choose the S26 when the remaining price difference is small enough to justify newer hardware for your use. Confirm current software-support information on Samsung’s official product or support pages before relying on longevity as a deciding factor.
Recommendations by buyer type
- Unlocked, uncomplicated purchase: Samsung’s $699.99 128GB S25, checked at checkout.
- No trade-in: Take the direct $100 reduction and compare eligible Samsung discount-program pricing.
- Existing carrier customer: Use a carrier promotion only if the plan premium and full credit period still produce the lowest total cost.
- Excellent-condition recent flagship: Compare Samsung instant credit, carrier credits and private-sale proceeds.
- Cracked or damaged phone: Get an actual inspection-based quote; never assume the headline maximum applies.
- Need larger display, battery or storage: Price the S25+ against the base model at checkout.
- Camera-focused buyer: Price the Ultra with your exact trade-in, then compare the remaining premium with the value of its hardware.
