The $199 Amazon price was real—but it was a December 11, 2025 deal, not a confirmed current August 2026 price. Amazon cut the standard AirPods Pro 3 with MagSafe Charging Case from Apple’s $249 U.S. list price to $199, a $50 (about 20.1%) reduction. MacRumors described it as a new low at the time and noted that the listing could disappear and return during the day.
Later tracking recorded an $184 Amazon price and promotions as low as $169 at other retailers, so $199 is no longer safely described as the all-time low. It remains a strong price when the listing is new, correctly configured and backed by a trustworthy seller.
What happened to the AirPods Pro 3 price?
MacRumors reported the Amazon U.S. deal on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The standard AirPods Pro 3 (with MagSafe Charging Case) was listed at $199 instead of Apple’s $249 price—a $50 saving, or approximately 20.1%. The report said that was about $20 below the reported Black Friday price. MacRumors’ December 11 deal report also warned that the offer fluctuated during the day.
That date matters. The headline’s “new low” was accurate in December 2025, but it should not be read as a live August 2026 price or an all-time record.

Is $199 still the lowest price?
No firm current low can be claimed without checking the live listing. Historical signals show that AirPods Pro 3 later sold for less:

Apple’s current U.S. product page lists AirPods Pro 3 at $249. The feature set includes:
- Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio and Transparency mode.
- Heart-rate sensing during workouts, used with supported apps and Apple devices.
- Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking.
- Hearing Test, Hearing Aid and Hearing Protection features where approved and available.
- Live Translation, subject to device, software, language and regional requirements.
- Up to eight hours of listening with ANC under Apple’s test conditions; Apple lists up to 6.5 hours with heart-rate sensing during workouts.
- USB-C MagSafe Charging Case, Find My support through the case speaker, H2 chip, Voice Isolation and Siri interactions.
MacRumors characterized ANC as approximately twice that of AirPods Pro 2 and cited improved audio and a revised fit. That is coverage’s characterization, not an independent measurement. Apple uses a different comparison, claiming up to four times more noise cancellation than the original AirPods Pro and AirPods 4 with ANC. Compatibility limits to check before buying
They work as Bluetooth headphones with non-Apple devices, but Apple says functionality may be limited. Live Translation requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone running iOS 26 or later, compatible AirPods firmware, supported languages and a supported region. Workout heart-rate sensing depends on compatible Apple hardware and apps. Hearing features are regulated and vary by country.
That makes the deal most compelling for people already using an iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple Fitness or Apple health features. Android users, owners of older iPhones and buyers who need full cross-platform controls may get less value.

How to verify an Amazon listing
- Open the intended Amazon listing and confirm the title says AirPods Pro 3, not AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro 2.
- Select the standard model and MagSafe Charging Case variant, then check the price after the selection.
- Confirm the item is new, not renewed, used or a warehouse return.
- Inspect “sold by” and “shipped by.” Amazon fulfillment alone does not establish who the seller is.
- Review delivery date, return eligibility and warranty information for your location.
- Check whether a clipped coupon or checkout-only promotion is required.
- Recheck seller, condition and the final total in the cart before placing the order.
Prices can differ by account, region, inventory, seller and time. If $199 disappears, refreshing the page or checking the cart may reveal a changed offer, but there is no guarantee it will return.
Who should buy—and who should wait?
Buy at $199 if
- You want Apple’s premium ANC and ecosystem integration now.
- You use compatible Apple health, workout or translation features.
- The listing is new, correctly identified and has acceptable seller, return and warranty terms.
- A $50 saving from Apple’s $249 price matters more than waiting for an uncertain promotion.
Wait or compare if
- You are targeting the lowest historical price; later evidence shows $184 Amazon pricing and lower non-Amazon promotions.
- You use Android or do not need Apple-specific health and translation features.
- AirPods Pro 2 are substantially cheaper and meet your needs.
- You prefer the non-silicone fit of AirPods 4 with ANC or want broader cross-platform controls from another premium brand.
Bottom line on the “new $199 low”
The December 11, 2025 Amazon offer was genuine and excellent for its time: $199 was $50 below Apple’s list price and a new low then. By August 2026, later discounts mean it is not an all-time-low claim. Treat $199 as a good purchase price for an Apple-focused buyer who has verified the live listing—not as a reason to ignore seller details or assume a better sale cannot appear.
