Short answer: Samsung and retailers have listed a new Galaxy S25 Ultra 256GB at $999.99, down $300 from its $1,299.99 US MSRP. That is a genuine reduction when the exact configuration is available, but the offer is not automatically universal or permanent. Samsung’s newer Galaxy S26 Ultra has also appeared at $1,049.99, so the S25 Ultra is worth choosing only after checking model status, warranty, stock and the final cart price.
Prices and availability change quickly. The $999.99 evidence below is an observed/listed promotion, not a guarantee that every S25 Ultra configuration remains at that price on October 1, 2026.
The $300 S25 Ultra deal at a glance
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Phone | Galaxy S25 Ultra, clearest evidence for 256GB |
| US MSRP | $1,299.99 |
| Observed price | $999.99 before tax |
| Nominal saving | $300 |
| Availability | Samsung and a Best Buy search result have shown the reduction; inventory and terms can change |
| Key qualification | Samsung’s clearest $999.99 product evidence was an AT&T-linked listing, so it does not by itself prove an unlocked offer |
Samsung’s featured-offer page has also advertised up to $580 or more in instant trade-in credit. That is a separate, device-and-condition-dependent credit, not a guaranteed $580 discount for every customer. See the Samsung featured offers page for the live terms.
Is the $300 discount real?
Yes, the arithmetic is real for the qualifying listing: $1,299.99 minus $300 equals $999.99 before sales tax. Samsung’s March 2026 US MSRP file lists the 256GB S25 Ultra at $1,299.99 and marks it end-of-life, which is consistent with clearance-style pricing as remaining stock is sold.

- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
The observed Samsung product page was for an AT&T 256GB model. Before paying, confirm all of these details in the product page and cart:
- 256GB storage, rather than 512GB or 1TB;
- unlocked status or the specific carrier restriction;
- new condition, US model and Samsung US warranty;
- the $999.99 price after selecting color and configuration;
- whether activation, financing, a Samsung account or eligibility requirement is involved.
Do not assume the same $300 reduction applies to every storage tier, color, carrier version or refurbished listing.

Amazon and carriers
Historical coverage reported a $999 Amazon price, but that does not establish a current offer. On Amazon, verify the seller, condition, model number, network bands and Samsung US warranty. Carrier promotions can reduce monthly payments through bill credits rather than lowering the purchase price immediately; they may require a new line, qualifying plan, port-in or a multi-year installment agreement.

The newer phone changes the value calculation. Samsung has listed the Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB at $1,049.99, only about $50 above the observed S25 Ultra price. That comparison is before tax, trade-in, financing and retailer incentives.

Who should buy the S25 Ultra?
- Value-focused buyers: the final price is $999.99 or less on a new, normally warranted phone.
- S Pen users: the stylus is built into the phone.
- Owners of older phones: you want Ultra-level cameras, display and battery without paying current-generation pricing.
- Contract-averse buyers: the deal is available unlocked rather than through carrier credits.
- Buyers comfortable with clearance inventory: the preferred color or storage may disappear.
Who should choose the S26 Ultra instead?
- The price gap is about $50 and you plan to keep the phone for many years.
- You want the newest processor, camera aperture changes or Privacy Display.
- The S25 offer is carrier-locked, refurbished, out of stock or tied to complicated financing.
- You want maximum resale value or the longest possible remaining support period.
- You need more than 256GB and the higher-capacity S25 discount is not comparable.
Calculate the real cost
Separate the advertised price from other forms of savings:
- Sale price: an immediate reduction from MSRP, before tax.
- Trade-in credit: depends on the old phone’s model, lock status, condition and required components.
- Carrier credits: usually arrive over time and can stop if you cancel or change the qualifying line.
- Samsung credit: store value is not the same as cash and may have expiration or product restrictions.
- Financing: changes payment timing, not necessarily the total price. A $999.99 listing showed an example of $41.67 per month for 24 months, subject to eligibility and terms.
Budget separately for sales tax, a charger, case and screen protection. Current Samsung flagship listings state that a charger is not included. Samsung accessories are listed at Samsung’s accessories page.
Ten-point checkout checklist
- Confirm the exact model number and 256GB storage.
- Confirm unlocked status or the named carrier.
- Verify the final product price in the cart.
- Check that the $300 is deducted before tax, not replaced by a credit.
- Review delivery date and stock status.
- Read trade-in grading, lock and return requirements.
- Check the return window and any restocking fee.
- Confirm charger and accessory requirements.
- Compare the final total with the live S26 Ultra price.
- Avoid treating “up to $580+ off” as a universal trade-in amount.
Bottom line for US buyers
The Galaxy S25 Ultra at $999.99 is a legitimate $300 reduction from its $1,299.99 MSRP when the exact new configuration is actually available. It is compelling only if the deal applies to the unlocked or otherwise suitable model you want, with normal US warranty coverage and no costly carrier commitment. Since Samsung has shown the newer S26 Ultra 256GB at $1,049.99, paying roughly $50 more for the current generation is often the better long-term choice. Treat the S25 Ultra as the value option, not Samsung’s current flagship, and verify the live cart before ordering.
