Bottom line: CrowdStrike and AWS now have a strategic cloud-and-AI security alliance, not just an endpoint product sold through AWS Marketplace. Since September 2025, their announcements have added AI-runtime controls, AWS telemetry and SIEM integrations, easier consumption-based buying, frontier-AI risk coordination and broader AI-lifecycle coverage. Those moves make Falcon worth evaluating alongside AWS-native services—not as an automatic replacement for GuardDuty, Security Hub CSPM or Inspector.
The five developments below are the most consequential publicly announced moves through August 16, 2026. Availability, supported Regions, licensing and preview status can differ by Falcon module, AWS account and service.
1. Falcon expanded AI-runtime protection for Bedrock, Kiro and Strands Agents
On June 17, 2026, CrowdStrike said Falcon AI Detection and Response (AIDR) protections were expanding to AI applications built with Amazon Bedrock, Kiro and Strands Agents. Operationally, this shifts the conversation from securing only servers and endpoints to observing and responding to behavior inside AI applications and their surrounding cloud environment.
What changes for security teams
- Teams can evaluate whether AI agents, tools, identities and workloads are generating security-relevant behavior.
- Bedrock, Kiro and Strands Agents become named targets in an AI-runtime security strategy rather than separate development concerns.
- The announcement links product integration with AWS Marketplace trials, making a controlled evaluation easier to start.
CrowdStrike’s announcement does not establish that every AIDR capability is generally available in every Region, Falcon edition or account type. Buyers should request a service-by-service availability matrix and clarify whether a control is preventive, detective or response-oriented.

2. AWS joined the expanded Project QuiltWorks frontier-AI coalition
Also on June 17, 2026, CrowdStrike announced that AWS was joining the expanded Project QuiltWorks initiative. The coalition is intended to address the cloud attack surface around frontier AI through discovery, prioritization, remediation and risk-transfer participants.
Why this is different from a connector
AWS’s role places the relationship in ecosystem coordination and systemic AI-risk management, not merely software integration. It gives CrowdStrike a platform for organizing defenses around AI infrastructure vulnerabilities and exploitation paths.
QuiltWorks is not described as a standalone CrowdStrike product. The announcement provides no quantified risk reduction, customer entitlement, pricing, implementation requirements or measured incident outcomes. AWS participation therefore signals strategic alignment, not automatic protection for AWS customers.

3. CrowdStrike, AWS and NVIDIA selected 35 cybersecurity startups
On January 5, 2026, the three companies selected 35 startups for the 2026 Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator. The program offers mentorship, partnership support and investment opportunities focused on AI-driven cloud-security innovation.
What customers should—and should not—read into it
AWS contributes cloud and Marketplace reach, NVIDIA contributes AI infrastructure and ecosystem leverage, and CrowdStrike contributes security-product and threat-intelligence positioning. Startups could become future partners, Marketplace offerings or integration targets.
This is ecosystem development, not an immediate protection feature. Existing customers do not receive a new control merely because a startup entered the accelerator. The announcement appears in CrowdStrike’s newsroom dated January 5, 2026.

4. Quick Start, pay-as-you-go access and Athena federation made Falcon SIEM easier to adopt
At AWS re:Invent on December 1, 2025, AWS and CrowdStrike announced an enhanced Marketplace onboarding flow for Falcon Next-Gen SIEM. The guided Quick Start connects Falcon with AWS CloudTrail, AWS Security Hub and Amazon GuardDuty. The release also described pay-as-you-go access for Falcon Next-Gen SIEM and Falcon Cloud Security, Amazon Athena access to data in S3, and EventBridge-powered response workflows.
Technical effects
- Guided onboarding: reduces manual configuration when connecting AWS accounts and security sources.
- EventBridge response: can automate supported actions instead of relying solely on batch workflows; exact actions and latency need documentation checks.
- Athena federation: permits investigations against S3-resident data without re-ingesting or duplicating that dataset in Falcon’s store.
Cost edge case
Pay-as-you-go is a procurement model, not a promise of low total cost. S3 storage, Athena queries, CloudTrail and CloudWatch collection, EventBridge, retention, cross-Region transfer and Falcon consumption can all remain billable. Model costs with real account count, log volume and retention.

5. CrowdStrike broadened integration across the AI lifecycle
At Fal.Con on September 15, 2025, CrowdStrike described AWS collaboration spanning AI development, testing, deployment and runtime, including Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock and AWS Marketplace.

Why the sequence matters
This announcement supplied the strategic bridge to the more concrete 2026 AIDR and cloud-operations releases. It positioned Falcon as a security layer around models, workloads, data and applications rather than only an endpoint agent.
The release is broad and ecosystem-oriented. It does not mean every SageMaker or Bedrock configuration has one integrated Falcon control plane. Confirm supported architectures, licensing and whether each capability is preview or generally available in current documentation. See CrowdStrike’s release and its investor-relations version.
What the partnership includes—and what it does not
| Role | Evidence in the announcements | Practical meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud infrastructure | AWS services host the workloads and data. | Falcon remains a third-party SaaS platform deployed on and connected to AWS. |
| Technical integration | Connectors for CloudTrail, CloudWatch, S3 access logs, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Security Lake and other services are listed in CrowdStrike’s catalog. | Telemetry can feed Falcon workflows, but connectors may belong to different modules and onboarding paths. |
| Marketplace channel | Quick Start, private offers, pay-as-you-go announcements and named trials. | Procurement friction may fall; AWS infrastructure charges still apply. |
| AI ecosystem | QuiltWorks and the 35-startup accelerator. | These are coalition and ecosystem initiatives, not automatic customer controls. |
The CrowdStrike AWS integration catalog is an inventory, not proof that every connector is included in one Falcon SKU.
Should AWS customers add Falcon or rely on native AWS security?
| Buyer situation | Likely evaluation |
|---|---|
| Already standardized on Falcon endpoint, identity or workload protection | Strongest case for testing shared telemetry, cross-domain investigations and consolidated response. |
| Small, AWS-only environment | Compare GuardDuty and Security Hub CSPM first; a second console and SIEM may add unnecessary cost. |
| Multi-account or multi-Region SOC | Test Quick Start behavior, finding deduplication, account coverage, Athena queries and EventBridge response. |
| Building Bedrock-based applications or agents | Demand a demonstration showing what AIDR observes, blocks, investigates and remediates, with Region and preview status. |
| Cost-sensitive procurement team | Separate Falcon licensing from AWS ingestion, storage, query and transfer estimates; “free trial” does not mean zero AWS cost. |
| Existing Splunk, Sentinel or other SIEM | Compare migration and duplicate-ingestion costs with keeping the current SIEM and forwarding AWS findings. |
How Falcon and AWS-native services can coexist
AWS Security Hub CSPM consolidates findings from services such as GuardDuty, Inspector and Macie, while AWS provides cost-estimation tools. GuardDuty offers a 30-day trial in each Region when first enabled, followed by usage-based charges. Security Hub CSPM advertises a 30-day trial and a perpetual free tier for 10,000 findings ingested per account per Region per month; verify the applicable plan because AWS naming and pricing change.
Best Value
- FIDO2 & Passkey Ready: Business-ready and FIDO2 L1 certified. This key is supported by major management suites and is ideal for both individual and enterprise deployment. Works seamlessly with Gmail, Facebook, GitHub, Dropbox, Coinbase, and more.
- Universal Connectivity (USB-A ): Features a built-in USB-A connector—simply unfold the key and plug it into your compatible PC or laptop for seamless authentication on the go.
- Dedicated Manager App: Use the Thetis Manager App for the initial hardware PIN setup. Setting the PIN on the device first ensures a smooth registration process. Once the PIN is configured, you can begin registering the key across your favorite FIDO2-compatible online services.
- Ultra-Durable & Portable: Featuring a rotating metal cover, this key is water, crush, and tamper-resistant. It fits easily on a keychain and requires no batteries or network connectivity.
- Check FIDO2 compatibility before purchase - Known limitations: ID Austria is not supported (requires FIDO2 Level 2). Windows Hello login only works with Windows Enterprise editions that support Entra ID, and NFC is NOT supported.
Falcon’s proposed differentiator is cross-domain context: endpoint, identity, cloud workload, threat intelligence, SIEM and response in one vendor platform. That can complement AWS-native detection, but it can also create overlapping severity models, policies, identities, consoles and support channels.

Procurement and trial checks
- Review the Falcon Platform Marketplace listing; it shows custom pricing and private-offer purchasing rather than a universal public price.
- Confirm which module—Next-Gen SIEM, Cloud Security, Endpoint Security or another Falcon product—is covered by the offer.
- Check Region, GovCloud, organization-account and preview restrictions.
- Estimate AWS costs for CloudTrail, CloudWatch, S3, Athena, EventBridge, storage, retention and transfer.
- Set trial end dates, usage alerts and teardown procedures. AWS explains that Marketplace free trials generally cover seller software charges, while infrastructure charges remain the buyer’s responsibility in its free-trial guidance.
Final verdict
The CrowdStrike–AWS relationship is becoming a cloud and AI security operating model: AI-runtime protection, AWS-scale telemetry, SIEM workflows, Marketplace procurement and ecosystem coordination now reinforce one another. The case is strongest for enterprises already invested in Falcon, operating complex AWS estates or building AI applications. It is weaker for small AWS-only environments that need straightforward native detection.
Evaluate Falcon alongside GuardDuty, Security Hub CSPM and Inspector. Treat each announcement as a capability or distribution signal—not proof of universal availability, lower cost, exclusive AWS endorsement or a complete replacement for AWS-native security.
