Search your phone for Yahoo Finance before reinstalling it. If it opens from search, the app is still installed and only its shortcut is hidden or misplaced. If it is absent, check the iPhone App Library or Android app drawer, then reinstall it only from the official App Store or Google Play. Afterward, sign in with the same Yahoo account. A missing app icon and a missing portfolio, holdings or subscription are separate problems.

Restore Yahoo Finance on an iPhone
Find an installed app in App Library
- Swipe left past every Home Screen page to open App Library.
- Search for Yahoo Finance, or browse the categories.
- Touch and hold the icon, then choose the option to add or move it to the Home Screen if shown.
Removing an app from the Home Screen does not necessarily delete it from App Library. Apple documents this behavior at Apple Support.
Check the iOS 18 or later Hidden folder
- Open App Library and scroll to Hidden.
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- Touch and hold Yahoo Finance.
- Tap Don’t Require Face ID, Don’t Require Touch ID or Don’t Require Passcode, as applicable.
A hidden app is removed from ordinary Home Screen and App Library views and placed in this protected folder. See Apple’s instructions at Apple’s Personal Safety guide.
Unhide a missing Home Screen page
If several icons vanished together, touch and hold an empty Home Screen area, tap Edit, choose Edit Pages (or the page dots), re-enable any unchecked page and tap outside the editor. Apps on a hidden page remain in App Library; Apple explains the process at Apple Support.

Redownload the app
- Open the App Store and search for Yahoo Finance.
- Tap Get or the redownload icon and authenticate.
- Open the app and sign in.
The redownload control means the app was previously obtained with the current Apple Account; Apple describes the process at its iPhone guide.
If it is missing from Apple purchases
- Confirm the Apple Account currently signed into the App Store.
- Check App Store → account picture → Apps (or Purchased, depending on the interface).
- Open App Store → account picture → your name or Apple Account → Hidden Purchases and unhide Yahoo Finance.
- Consider Family Sharing, device compatibility and whether another Apple Account obtained the app.

Restore Yahoo Finance on Android
Check the app drawer and launcher
- Swipe up from the Home screen to open the app drawer.
- Search for Yahoo Finance.
- If it appears, touch and hold it and drag it to the Home screen, or choose Add to Home screen.
Also inspect launcher folders, the launcher’s hidden-app list, Settings → Apps → Yahoo Finance, a work profile and any secure folder. Names differ among Samsung, Pixel, Motorola and other Android devices.
Use Google Play to identify its status
- Open Google Play Store and search for Yahoo Finance.
- Open means it is installed; use the app drawer or launcher settings to restore its shortcut.
- Install means it is not installed. Tap it, complete the device prompts and sign in afterward.
Yahoo’s Android guidance is to search Google Play and tap Install: Yahoo Help.

Find a previously installed app
On newer Play Store versions, try profile picture → Manage apps & device → Manage, then change the filter from Installed to Not installed and install Yahoo Finance. Labels vary by device and version; if that list is unavailable, search the store directly. The Not installed route is also described in this Google Play Community answer: Google Play Community.
If the app is not available in the store
Do not conclude automatically that Yahoo discontinued it. Check the exact name, the Apple or Google account in use, operating-system compatibility, country or region, available storage, parental controls, workplace management and whether the store itself is working. A managed or child device may require its administrator or family organizer to restore access. You can also check Yahoo Finance at finance.yahoo.com.

Do not sideload an APK or use an old-version download site. Unofficial packages can be modified and expose your Yahoo credentials or device to malware. Reinstallation normally provides the current store version, not an older “classic” interface.

- Open Yahoo Finance and sign in with the Yahoo account previously used.
- Confirm the displayed email address or username before changing anything.
- Check the correct portfolio, watchlists, alerts and holdings; a different portfolio view can look empty.
- Compare the account on Yahoo Finance on the web. If data is present there, the issue is app-specific or a sync/display problem.
- Check whether a linked brokerage feed has stopped updating.
Deleting or reinstalling the app is not the same as deleting a Yahoo account or cloud portfolio. However, locally cached or unsynced settings may not survive an uninstall, so verify your Yahoo password and recovery email or phone before removing the app. If necessary, sign out and back in only after confirming the account.

If Yahoo Finance Plus or another subscription disappeared
Yahoo says mobile in-app billing is handled by Apple or Google rather than directly by Yahoo. In Yahoo Finance, tap the Upgrade Badge, then Restore Purchase, and make sure the device is signed into the Apple Account or Google account that originally paid. Follow Yahoo’s instructions at Yahoo Help. This restores store recognition; it does not fix a missing Home-screen icon.
If the app is installed but will not open
- Force-close and reopen Yahoo Finance.
- Restart the phone.
- Update Yahoo Finance and iOS or Android.
- Check internet access and free storage.
- On Android, clear the app cache through the device’s Settings → Apps controls; menu names vary.
- Reinstall only after confirming your Yahoo credentials and account-recovery access.
