$199 is a good sale price for AirPods Pro 3, but it is not their all-time low. MacRumors called $199 a record on March 10, 2026; Amazon later reached a reported $169 on June 17. Best Buy’s captured listing showed new earbuds at $199.99, although prices and stock can change before checkout. Compare the seller, condition, protection plan and return policy—not just the headline discount.
What the $199 price actually means
Apple’s reported standard price is $249. A $199.99 purchase is about $49.01 off, or roughly 20% below that price, before tax, shipping or location-specific fees. The $169 promotion was $80 off, approximately 32% below the $249 list price.
The March deal was genuinely an all-time low when it was reported. It is outdated to describe $199 as the lowest price ever without that date qualification.

Those are reported historical prices, not a guarantee of the live checkout price. Promotions can end without notice, and the June $169 Amazon price reportedly fluctuated.

Where to buy
Best Buy: straightforward new-stock purchase
Best Buy’s product page showed new AirPods Pro 3 at $199.99, sold by Best Buy, with AppleCare+ listed separately at $39 for two years: Best Buy product page. Local pickup and a clearly identified retailer seller can be useful if convenience and returns matter.
The same page can also show open-box, refurbished and marketplace offers. Before paying, confirm that the condition says new, the seller is Best Buy, the model is MFHP4LL/A, and the applicable return terms are acceptable. Adding the displayed $39 AppleCare+ price would bring a $199.99 purchase to about $238.99 before tax.

Costco: potentially better value when the bundle is active
Costco previously listed AirPods Pro 3 at $199.99 with two years of AppleCare+ included. The cited promotion was stated to run through July 26, 2026, so do not assume it is still available. Costco says warehouse and online availability and pricing can vary: Costco comparison page.
For a Costco member who wants coverage, that bundle can be worth more than a $169 or $199 standalone purchase. It is not automatically the best choice if you do not have a membership, do not want AppleCare+, or are shopping after the promotion ended.

Amazon and Walmart: verify the exact seller
The $169 record was associated with Amazon and Walmart promotions in June, but retail pages can combine retailer inventory with marketplace, refurbished, used and open-box offers. Check that the listing is new, identify who sells and ships it, review the return window, and confirm that the serial number will be eligible for Apple support. Do not treat an unusually low marketplace price as equivalent to factory-sealed retailer stock.
What you get for the money
Apple and retailer specifications list the H2 chip, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB-C MagSafe charging case and battery life of up to eight hours under specified conditions. Apple claims active noise cancellation can reduce up to twice as much unwanted noise as AirPods Pro 2. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent test result; battery life varies with volume, listening mode and features, and ANC depends on fit and ear-tip selection.

Reasons to wait or skip
- AirPods Pro 2 owners should upgrade mainly for stronger claimed ANC, the revised fit, heart-rate sensing or newer software features; the jump is less compelling otherwise.
- Android phones can use the earbuds as Bluetooth headphones, but the full Apple-specific feature set requires compatible Apple hardware and software.
- Budget shoppers can find adequate ANC and sound for less.
- Anyone focused only on the lowest possible price may prefer to wait for another major promotion because the product has already reached $169.
- Open-box and refurbished units may have shorter coverage, missing accessories, uncertain battery condition or less favorable returns.
How to avoid a bad listing
- Prefer Apple, Best Buy-sold, Costco or clearly retailer-fulfilled inventory.
- Read the seller and condition fields immediately before checkout; “new” is not the same as “open-box,” “refurbished” or “like new.”
- Compare warranty and return terms, not just the item price.
- After delivery, inspect packaging, pair the earbuds with an iPhone and confirm that Apple device information and warranty status appear normally.
- Keep the receipt until authenticity, fit and return eligibility are settled.
Should you buy at $199?
Buy at about $199 if you need AirPods Pro 3 now and the listing is new, retailer-sold or reliably fulfilled, with acceptable returns. It is a meaningful discount and a sensible price for an iPhone owner who will use ANC and Apple integration.
Wait if you are price-sensitive and can monitor Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Costco around major sales. A return to $169 is possible but not guaranteed, and a deal page’s price may disappear before you click through. If AppleCare+ is important and Costco’s $199.99 bundle is genuinely active, it may be the strongest total-value option.
