Best Black Friday GPU Deals 2025: What Was Actually Worth Buying

The best 2025 GPU bargains were value wins, not always the biggest markdowns. Here is what the RX 9070 XT, RTX 5070, RTX 5080, RTX 5060 Ti and RX 9060 XT offered—and which cards were poor value.

Archive note: This is a historical guide to prices observed during Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2025. Those offers are not presumed active as of August 18, 2026. Black Friday fell on November 28, 2025, and Cyber Monday followed on December 1.

The best purchases were not always the cards with the biggest advertised markdown. In most cases, value came from combining a realistic street price with enough VRAM, suitable performance, reliable stock and the features you actually use.

Quick recommendations from the 2025 sales

GPU Best for Lowest observed price VRAM Value judgment Status
Radeon RX 9070 XT 1440p and affordable 4K raster gaming About $599.99; other listings $635.99–$649.99 16GB Best overall value when stock was available Historical, expired
GeForce RTX 5070 Nvidia features at 1440p About $499.99–$529.99 12GB Strong Nvidia buy; often near MSRP rather than deeply discounted Historical, expired
Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB 1080p/1440p value About $349–$370 16GB Excellent memory and raster value Historical, expired
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB VRAM-conscious Nvidia buyers About $400 16GB Good if DLSS, ray tracing or CUDA justified the premium Historical, expired
GeForce RTX 5080 High-end Nvidia 4K About $1,000 at Newegg 16GB Attractive mainly because availability was difficult; not automatically a large discount Historical, expired
GeForce RTX 5060 Strict 1080p budgets About $279 8GB Roughly $20 below Nvidia’s stated MSRP, but limited headroom Historical, expired
GeForce RTX 5090 Uncompromising performance About $2,700–$2,850; some listings $3,100+ 32GB Fastest-class specialist product, not a value deal Historical, expired

Price snapshots come from dated Black Friday and Cyber Week coverage, including PC Gamer’s Black Friday tracker, PC Gamer’s Cyber Week roundup, Windows Central and the archived Newegg promotion. They are not current quotations.

Best overall: Radeon RX 9070 XT near $600

The RX 9070 XT was the clearest value winner when a 16GB card could actually be bought for about $599.99. Listings at Newegg and Walmart reached that level, while other retailers showed approximately $635.99–$649.99. That combination of strong conventional rendering, 16GB of VRAM and a price below competing high-end options made it the most compelling broad recommendation.

#1 Best Overall
Sale
GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16G Graphics Card, PCIe 5.0, 16GB GDDR6, GV-R9070XTGAMING OC-16GD Video Card
  • Powered by Radeon RX 9070 XT
  • WINDFORCE Cooling System
  • Hawk Fan
  • Server-grade Thermal Conductive Gel
  • RGB Lighting

Its advantage was greatest in rasterized 1440p and entry-level 4K gaming. AMD’s trade-offs were weaker ray-tracing performance and less mature upscaling and frame-generation support than Nvidia’s ecosystem. Board-partner differences still mattered: check cooler size, noise reviews, power connectors, warranty and whether the advertised low price was sold by the retailer itself. The cheapest listing had limited stock, so the lowest observed price was not necessarily the easiest deal to obtain.

Best Nvidia value: GeForce RTX 5070

The RTX 5070 appeared around $499.99 on Amazon and $509.99 at Newegg, with other listings near $529.99. That made it one of the most attractive Nvidia purchases, although the exact comparison with MSRP depended on the board partner and the market reference being used.

Rank #2
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming OC 16G Graphics Card, 16GB 256-bit GDDR7, PCIe 5.0, WINDFORCE Cooling System, GV-N507TGAMING OC-16GD Video Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  • Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
  • PCIe 5.0
  • WINDFORCE cooling system

Choose it for DLSS 4, Nvidia’s ray-tracing performance, CUDA-dependent applications, established creator software and supported frame-generation features. Nvidia describes the RTX 50-series as using Blackwell architecture, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, fourth-generation RT Cores and DLSS 4; those are capabilities, not guaranteed gains in every game. Its 12GB memory is comfortable for much 1440p use but gives less long-term 4K headroom than a 16GB alternative. If an RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT was only slightly more expensive, AMD could deliver more raw performance and memory for ordinary gaming.

High-end choice: RTX 5080 versus RX 9070 XT

An RTX 5080 listing around $1,000 at Newegg was worthwhile mainly because RTX 5080 stock and pricing had often been difficult. The exact card matters: a premium factory-overclocked model can erase the benefit, and a reference-level price should not be confused with a universal discount. The 5080 brings Nvidia’s software, ray tracing and creator advantages with 16GB of VRAM, while the RX 9070 XT generally offered substantially stronger value when its price was near $600.

Rank #3
ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card
  • AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
  • OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
  • A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis

For either card, verify case clearance, power-supply capacity and connector requirements before ordering. The RTX 5090 was faster still, but its observed $2,700–$3,100-plus listings made it a specialist purchase rather than a sensible sale bargain.

Best budget and midrange deals

RTX 5060 at about $279

Coverage recorded the RTX 5060 near $279, approximately $20 below Nvidia’s stated $299 MSRP. It was a sensible 1080p option if the model was a conventional two-fan card rather than an expensive triple-fan design that consumed the saving. Its 8GB VRAM can work at 1080p, but newer games, ultra textures, ray tracing and mods may require compromises.

Rank #4
ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX™ 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition Graphics Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing.
  • Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
  • 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads

RX 9060 XT 16GB at $349–$370

The 16GB RX 9060 XT was one of the strongest budget choices. At roughly $349–$370, it offered more memory headroom and often better raw performance per dollar than the RTX 5060. Nvidia remained preferable when DLSS, ray tracing, frame generation or CUDA mattered. Prefer the 16GB version when the premium over 8GB is reasonable; reported 8GB prices around $330–$370 left too little separation to justify the compromise.

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB near $400

An approximately $400 RTX 5060 Ti 16GB was a good Nvidia-oriented VRAM deal. Retail and editorial references for MSRP varied by market snapshot and exact model, so do not claim one universal discount. The card uses a PCIe x8 interface; a modern motherboard and correctly configured primary slot help avoid platform-related limitations. The RX 9060 XT 16GB could be faster per dollar, making Nvidia’s software features the main reason to pay more.

VRAM should be part of the discount calculation

Eight gigabytes remains usable for lower-resolution gaming, but it leaves less room for ultra textures, ray tracing, mods and future releases. Twelve gigabytes is more comfortable at 1440p without being a blanket 4K guarantee. Sixteen gigabytes provides substantially more headroom for texture-heavy games. Compare capacity and the actual price gap, not just the percentage shown beside a crossed-out price.

When Nvidia made more sense—and when Radeon did

Priority Usually the better fit Reason
DLSS quality, supported frame generation or ray tracing Nvidia RTX 50-series Broader Nvidia feature and software support
CUDA, AI or Nvidia-specific creator applications Nvidia RTX 50-series Application compatibility can outweigh raw gaming value
Raster performance per dollar Radeon RX 9000-series Often more performance and VRAM at the same sale price
16GB at a lower cost RX 9060 XT 16GB or RX 9070 XT More memory headroom for demanding games

Frame generation increases displayed frames but does not replace adequate base rendering performance. Latency, image artifacts and game support vary, so treat generated frames as an additional feature rather than equivalent native frames.

Cards that were easy to overpay for

  • RTX 5090: its performance was exceptional, but sale listings were still extremely expensive and often far above reference pricing.
  • 8GB models: avoid paying nearly the same as a 16GB version.
  • Premium AIB designs: a $30–$100 cooler premium is poor value if it moves the card close to the next performance tier.
  • Unclear marketplace stock: savings disappear when seller identity, warranty or return rights are uncertain.
  • Rebate-only discounts: a mail-in rebate is not the same as an instant checkout price.

How to verify a GPU deal

  1. Confirm the exact GPU, board-partner model and VRAM capacity.
  2. Compare the checkout price with reference MSRP, that model’s own list price and its recent street price.
  3. Separate instant savings from coupons, memberships, credit-card offers, bundles and mail-in rebates. Newegg’s archived terms noted that displayed final prices could include applicable savings and rebates.
  4. Check whether the seller is the retailer, a marketplace merchant, open-box inventory or refurbished stock.
  5. Read the return period and confirm manufacturer-warranty eligibility.
  6. Measure card length, thickness and connector clearance; verify power-supply requirements and motherboard slot placement.
  7. Compare the next-faster Nvidia and AMD cards before deciding that a percentage discount is meaningful.
  8. Record the retailer and date. Black Friday, Cyber Monday and post-event prices were often mixed together in updated deal pages.

Buy immediately when the card has the desired VRAM, is at or below a credible MSRP or normal street price, and is sold new by a reputable retailer. Wait when the saving is only $10–$20, the card is an unattractive 8GB model, or a premium cooler pushes it into a faster card’s price range.
