Apple Business Connect was Apple’s free system for managing how a company appeared in Apple Maps and related Apple services. Businesses could claim locations, correct addresses and hours, add photos and logos, publish promotions, and connect customers to booking, ordering or other actions.
That standalone product is no longer the current destination. Apple Business launched on April 14, 2026, and Apple moved Business Connect’s location and brand-management functions into it. Older guides may still use the name “Apple Business Connect,” but new users should use Apple Business.
Apple Business Connect in one sentence
Apple Business Connect was Apple’s first-party listing and brand-management platform for controlling a business’s place card—the information panel customers see in Apple Maps and related Apple experiences.
It was not a customer relationship management system, website builder, review platform or complete booking engine. Its main job was to give businesses a direct way to submit accurate information to Apple instead of relying only on third-party data.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Is Apple Business Connect still available?
No—not as a separate service. Apple announced Apple Business on March 24, 2026, and made it available April 14, 2026. Apple said Business Connect, Apple Business Manager and Apple Business Essentials would no longer operate as separate services after the launch.
Existing Business Connect information—including claimed locations, place-card details, photos, organization information and account details—was scheduled to migrate automatically. Apple’s current terms are organized around organizations, brands, locations, place cards, showcases and insights.
Legacy support pages, legal documents, partner documentation and older articles may continue to mention Business Connect. The practical route for a new account is Apple Business’s brand and location-management area.
Current answer: If you want to manage an Apple Maps listing, look for Apple Business—not a separate Business Connect dashboard.
What businesses can manage
Place-card information
A verified organization can submit or edit core information such as:
- Business or brand name
- One primary category and up to 19 additional categories
- Street address and map coordinates
- Phone number, including the country code
- Official website or an eligible official social page
- Regular, holiday and special hours
- Description and location-specific details
- Official business-app information where applicable
Apple says the website should belong to the organization or be an appropriate official social page, not a third-party site. Phone extensions are not supported. See Apple’s location-attribute guidance.
Photos, logos and cover images
You can add a brand logo, location photos and a cover photo. Apple’s current cover-photo guidance lists HEIF, JPEG and PNG files, a minimum size of 1,600 × 1,040 pixels and a maximum of 4,864 × 4,864 pixels. Apple may crop the image differently in Maps and Apple Wallet, so check the current specification before preparing a large rollout.

Submitted images and text can be reviewed. Avoid prohibited promotional text, watermarks or clip art, and use photographs that genuinely represent the location. The cover-photo guide contains the current requirements.
Showcases
A showcase is a promotional module attached to a location’s place card. It can feature a new product, sale, event, seasonal offer or other time-sensitive message, with an image and call-to-action button. Apple approval is required, and a showcase can run for a defined period such as 30 days.
Showcases are not a substitute for an advertising campaign. Editing one while it is under review can delay approval. Details are in Apple’s showcase instructions.
Custom actions
Custom actions place buttons or links on a place card for actions such as:
- Ordering
- Reserving
- Booking an appointment
- Scheduling a service
- Opening a preferred website or app
Apple does not automatically provide the underlying reservation, delivery or ordering operation. The button may send the customer to your website, app or an approved third-party provider. Availability depends on the action, country, implementation and, for some features, an API or partner integration. See Apple’s partner-action documentation.

Apple describes insights that can show how people discover and interact with a presence, including searches, place-card views, taps on actions and showcase interactions. Availability and detail vary. Do not treat these reports as a complete sales-attribution system, keyword-rank tracker or revenue dashboard.
Brands, locations and delegated access
Apple Business is designed to manage multiple brands and locations with roles, permissions and partner access. An agency can manage a client’s locations after it registers as an Apple third-party partner and receives authorization.

Where the information appears
Apple Maps is the primary destination. Depending on the field and the customer’s country or region, Apple also describes distribution through Siri, Apple Wallet, Mail, Safari, Spotlight and other Apple apps or features.
Every field does not appear on every surface. Apple’s feature-availability table is the authority for regional differences.
Who should use Apple Business?
Strong candidates
- Restaurants, retailers, salons, clinics, hotels and professional services with public locations
- Multi-location brands that need consistent names, hours, photos and contact information
- Businesses whose customers use iPhone, iPad, Siri, Apple Maps or Apple Wallet
- Agencies managing Apple listings for clients
- Some online or virtual businesses that meet Apple’s eligibility rules
Apple says no Apple hardware is required to manage the account. Eligibility and features still vary by country.
Limited-use cases
- A business with little or no Apple-user audience
- A company seeking review monitoring and response workflows
- A marketer who needs broad citation distribution, duplicate suppression or advanced local-rank reporting
- A business looking for a complete CRM, loyalty, messaging, ordering or booking system
How to set up an Apple Business presence
- Sign in: Go to Apple Business with an Apple Account used for business.
- Enter organization details: Provide the legal and contact information Apple requests, accept the terms and begin the setup.
- Verify the organization: Choose document review, DNS TXT-record validation or, for eligible companies with an associated app, App Store Connect verification.
- Create or select a brand: Organize the location under the correct brand.
- Add or claim a location: Search for an existing listing or create a new one.
- Correct the map position: Put the pin over the building, not on a road, sidewalk, intersection, parking-lot entrance or access point.
- Complete the place card: Add the official name, category, address, country-code phone number, website, hours, holiday hours, description and photos.
- Submit for review: Apple may review information, images, showcases and other content before publication.
- Add actions and showcases: After verification, connect supported booking, ordering or other destinations and publish approved promotional modules.
- Maintain the listing: Update temporary closures, holiday hours, photos, links, categories, phone numbers and expired promotions.
Apple’s initial setup overview is available in its getting-started guide.
How verification and claiming work
Organization verification
Apple documents three routes:
- Document review: Submit a business license, utility bill or comparable document showing the organization’s name and address.
- Domain validation: Add a TXT record to the organization’s DNS.
- App Store Connect: Available to eligible companies with an associated app; Apple says this route is not for third-party partner agencies.
Requirements are explained in Apple’s company-verification guide.
Existing-location verification
For a location Apple already has on file, phone verification may send a four-digit code through a call to the number Apple has recorded.

When another account controls the listing
Do not create a duplicate. Request a transfer, contact the current administrator or provide supporting documents. Apple says a transfer review can take up to five business days. The location guide describes the available process.

Agency access
An agency must register as a third-party partner, complete Apple’s verification process and receive client authorization before managing brands or locations. Start with Apple’s agency-registration instructions and its partner directory.
What does Apple Business cost?
Apple says Apple Business is free to get started, including core brand and location management. That is the relevant cost answer for a business that only wants to claim and maintain an Apple Maps presence.
Separate costs can apply to:
- Additional iCloud storage or AppleCare+ for Business
- Third-party listing-management platforms or agencies
- Booking, ordering, delivery or reservation providers
- Any separate advertising product
Apple’s homepage currently displays U.S. add-on examples of $0.99 per month for 50GB, $2.99 for 200GB and $9.99 for 2TB of iCloud storage per user. It also displays AppleCare+ for Business starting at $6.99 per month for one device or $13.99 per month per user for up to three devices. These are add-on signals, not fees required for Apple Maps listing management, and prices can vary by region.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Apple Business and Google Business Profile are complementary
Apple Business controls Apple’s ecosystem. Google Business Profile controls Google Search and Google Maps. One does not replace the other.
| Need | Apple Business | Google Business Profile |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Maps visibility | Primary fit | Not the primary channel |
| Google Search and Maps visibility | Not the primary channel | Primary fit |
| Apple-oriented brand presentation | Strong fit | Limited relevance |
| Review workflows | Limited native scope | More central to the platform |
| Broad directory distribution | Usually needs a partner | Focused on Google’s ecosystem |
| Basic listing cost | Free to get started | Check Google’s current official terms |
Most location-based businesses should evaluate both channels, then add a paid listings or reputation platform only when its automation, monitoring or distribution solves a real operational problem.

Verification fails
Check that the legal name, address, phone number, submitted documents and domain ownership match. A malformed DNS TXT record, an Apple Account associated with another organization or an unreachable business phone can also delay review. Apple may require a separate business Apple Account in some situations.
The location is already claimed
Use a transfer request and prepare a business license, utility bill or comparable proof. Creating another listing can create duplicates and confusion.
The map pin is wrong
Move the coordinates onto the building itself. A pin on the street, sidewalk, intersection or parking access point may be rejected or mislead customers.
A showcase is stuck
Apple approval is required. Avoid repeatedly editing a showcase while it is under review, because Apple says that can delay approval.

The action may be unavailable in the market, require an API or approved partner, have an ineligible destination or still be under review.
Apple Business is updated but Maps is not
Publication can require review and synchronization time. Check the public listing after approval; if the discrepancy persists, contact Apple Business support rather than creating a duplicate location.
What Apple Business does not replace
- Google Business Profile for Google Search and Google Maps
- Review monitoring and response software
- Broad directory or citation distribution
- Advanced local-rank tracking
- CRM, loyalty, messaging and conversion-attribution systems
- The actual booking, ordering, delivery or reservation service behind a custom-action link
Accurate information can reduce customer confusion and improve the quality of an Apple presence, but Apple’s published material does not guarantee better rankings.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Apple Business Connect was Apple’s free Apple Maps listing tool; its current home is Apple Business. Claim and maintain it if Apple users matter to your business, use it alongside Google Business Profile, and consider an agency or API partner only when many locations make manual updates impractical.
