Which model offered the best value?
For most buyers: 14-inch M4
The $1,399 configuration delivered a meaningful $200 reduction and was described by MacRumors as only a few dollars above that model’s all-time low at the time. It suits office work, coding, photo editing and moderate video work while retaining the Pro line’s active cooling and ports. Its 512GB SSD can become restrictive for large photo or video libraries, and the base M4 is less appropriate for sustained professional workloads than M4 Pro or M4 Max.
For demanding mobile work: 14-inch M4 Pro
The 14-inch M4 Pro options provide more compute headroom for development tools, virtual machines, creative applications and heavy multitasking without the bulk of the 16-inch chassis. Compare the 24GB/512GB and 24GB/1TB versions carefully: the extra storage may matter more than the relatively small price difference for your workflow.

For a desktop replacement: 16-inch models
The larger display, battery and thermal capacity make the 16-inch models better suited to primary-workstation use. They are less portable and cost substantially more, especially with M4 Max.
For specialized creative workloads: M4 Max
M4 Max makes sense when high-resolution video, 3D, large software builds or other professional applications can use its additional graphics and compute resources. The $3,599 model was the promotion’s largest absolute discount, but a large discount does not make it economical for ordinary productivity.

Amazon new versus Apple Certified Refurbished
Historical forum comments associated with the promotion reported Apple Certified Refurbished prices below Amazon’s for comparable machines, including $1,359 for the base 14-inch model and $3,399 for the high-end 16-inch model. Those figures were user-posted observations, not verified Apple price records, and should not be treated as current.

- Match the configuration: Confirm chip, memory, SSD capacity, screen size, color and finish. Amazon listings may group several variants under one product page.
- Check condition: Make sure the item is new, not refurbished or used.
