Bell’s $70 roaming passes: current prices, coverage and how to avoid surprise charges

Bell’s $70 Travel Passes are regional, fixed-duration options—not unlimited-data roaming. Here are the current prices, activation codes, coverage checks and break-even math versus Roam Better.

Bell’s original $70 Travel Passes were launched on June 18, 2025: a seven-day Europe pass and a 14-day Mexico-and-Caribbean pass. They include destination-and-Canada talk and text, but they do not add unlimited data. Instead, roaming data comes from the data allowance on your existing Bell plan.

Bell’s lineup has changed since that launch. Prices below are in Canadian dollars before applicable taxes and reflect Bell’s listed options as of August 16, 2026; check the live destination selector and your line in MyBell before buying.

What Bell actually launched for $70

Region Price Validity Activation code
Europe $70 7 days EURO7
Mexico and Caribbean $70 14 days CARIBMEX14

These were regional, fixed-duration Travel Passes—not a single $70 product that works worldwide. Bell’s promotional page describes the two original offers and their inclusions at bell.ca.

The effective prices are about $10 per valid day for the Europe pass and $5 per valid day for the Mexico-and-Caribbean pass, before tax, if you use the entire validity period.

Bell’s current Travel Pass lineup

Bell now lists additional durations and regions. The following prices and codes were shown on Bell’s coverage page on August 16, 2026:

Pass Price Validity Code
United States $30 3 days US3
United States $60 14 days US14
United States $80 30 days US30
Europe $70 7 days EURO7
Europe $75 14 days EURO14
Europe $90 30 days EURO30
Caribbean and Mexico $70 14 days CARIBMEX14
Asia $75 14 days ASIA14
Asia $90 30 days ASIA30
International $100 14 days INTL14
International $120 30 days INTL30

Regional names are not guarantees that every country in that region qualifies. Verify each destination with Bell’s live lookup at bell.ca/mobility/coverage_map; eligible countries and partner networks can change.

What a $70 pass includes—and what it does not

  • Use of the data included in your existing Bell rate plan.
  • Unlimited talk within the eligible destination and back to Canada.
  • Unlimited text within the eligible destination and back to Canada.

The pass does not create a new unlimited or high-speed data bucket. If your domestic allowance is small or already used, your plan’s normal reduced-speed or overage rules still govern. “Unlimited talk” also does not mean calls to every country: calls from the roaming destination to countries other than that destination and Canada may cost extra.

How to add a Travel Pass

  1. Sign in to MyBell.
  2. Select the mobile line that will travel.
  3. Choose the Travel Pass matching the destination and duration.
  4. Alternatively, text the relevant code to 4400: EURO7, CARIBMEX14, US3, US14, US30, INTL14 or INTL30.
  5. Add it on the departure day or immediately before arrival, then wait for Bell’s confirmation message.

Activation is immediate. The pass expires at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on its stated expiration date, not exactly 24 hours after you land. Turning it on several days early can consume part of the paid period. Travelling across time zones can also make the expiry appear earlier or later locally.

Bell allows customers to add a pass after arriving, although it recommends doing so before travel. Until activation is confirmed, keep data roaming off if you want to minimize accidental charges. If the phone does not connect after confirmation, restart it or toggle airplane mode, then verify the active feature and expiry date in MyBell.

Travel Pass versus Roam Better

Bell’s current Roam Better daily rates are $13 per day in the United States and $16 per day internationally. A daily charge applies on days with chargeable roaming use, while a Travel Pass starts its fixed validity period as soon as it is added.

Option Price basis Data Best fit
Europe Travel Pass $70 for 7 days (about $10/day) Existing plan data A trip using most of seven days
Mexico/Caribbean Travel Pass $70 for 14 days (about $5/day) Existing plan data A trip using most of 14 days
Roam Better $13/day U.S.; $16/day international Existing plan data; after 5 GB in a day, speeds reduce to up to 512 Kbps until midnight Eastern Time Very short or irregular-use trips

For example, seven international Roam Better days would cost about $112 before tax, versus $70 for the seven-day Europe pass. Fourteen international days would cost about $224, versus $70 for the Mexico-and-Caribbean pass where that destination is eligible. Those comparisons only hold when the pass covers the country and you actually use most of its validity; one light-use day can make daily billing cheaper.

Eligibility, lines and billing details

  • Travel Passes are available with most eligible monthly and Small Business plans. Check the specific line in MyBell; prepaid, corporate and incompatible plans may not qualify.
  • Prepaid Bell plans do not support U.S. or international roaming.
  • A pass is added to the travelling mobile line. Do not assume one purchase covers every member of a Share group.
  • Taxes are extra.
  • When a pass ends, the line returns to the applicable roaming option, such as Roam Better or eligible voice/text pay-per-use rates. A second pass can be added after the first expires; do not assume automatic renewal or overlap.

Important policy changes since the 2025 launch

Bell discontinued Data Travel Passes on March 19, 2026, and pay-per-use data roaming on May 1, 2026. Current Travel Passes still use data from the customer’s rate plan. Ending pay-per-use data does not make all roaming free: voice and text charges can still apply when no pass or included plan feature covers them. Bell also says consumer roaming services are unavailable on cruise ships and flights.

Coverage and performance limitations

Bell’s broader roaming service reaches more than 230 destinations, but a particular pass only works in its listed countries and coverage areas. Local partner networks, terrain, congestion and available technology can affect signal and speed. Check every country on a multi-country itinerary rather than assuming a regional label covers the whole trip.

When another option makes more sense

Use an included-roaming plan

If you travel several times a year, compare the total annual cost of a plan that includes U.S., Mexico or international roaming with repeated passes. Compare domestic data, hotspot rules, speed limits, taxes, promotional credits and the exact countries included.

Use a travel eSIM

An eSIM can be cheaper for data-focused travel when your phone is unlocked, eSIM-compatible and able to run dual SIMs. Providers such as Airalo, Holafly and Nomad offer data-oriented alternatives. Their prices vary and are not quoted here. A data eSIM may not provide your Bell number’s traditional calls or SMS, so you may rely on WhatsApp, FaceTime, Signal or iMessage.

Compare another carrier

Frequent travellers can compare Bell’s offers with current Canadian plans at Bell Mobility and other carriers. The meaningful comparison is not just the monthly price: check included countries, domestic data, hotspot allowance, calling boundaries, speed limits and whether credits expire.

Practical checklist before departure

  • Confirm the exact country and partner coverage in Bell’s destination selector.
  • Check that the travelling line and plan are eligible.
  • Estimate whether you will use most of the pass period.
  • Check how much data remains on your domestic plan.
  • Add the pass on the departure day, not days earlier.
  • Keep data roaming off until Bell confirms activation if avoiding accidental charges matters.
  • Remember that cruise ships and aircraft are outside Bell’s consumer roaming service.
