Reebee is worth trying if you want searchable Canadian flyers, deal discovery and a cross-store shopping list. It was founded in Kitchener, Ontario, but it is no longer an independent startup: Flipp acquired it in June 2022. The app remains a separate Reebee brand on iOS and Android, while its website experience was combined with Flipp’s.
The important qualification is that Reebee is primarily a digital-flyer and shopping-planning service. Some listings are coupon-like offers, but many are simply advertised sale prices. It does not guarantee stock, automatic redemption, universal retailer coverage or a successful price match.
What Reebee actually does
Reebee collects participating retailers’ flyers and makes them searchable. You can browse by store or category, search for an ingredient or product, compare advertised prices, save offers, build lists and receive deal alerts. The Canadian Apple App Store and Google Play listings also describe watch lists, loyalty-card storage and price-match support at participating retailers.
| Feature | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Digital flyers | Retailers’ weekly or upcoming promotional circulars in app form. |
| Product search | Search an item or ingredient across the flyers available for your location. |
| Shopping lists | Save products, organize them by store and check them off while shopping. |
| Saved deals and watch lists | Keep offers for a planned trip or monitor items for future promotions. |
| Loyalty cards | Store supported cards for convenience; retailer account terms still apply. |
| Price-match help | Show a qualifying flyer offer as evidence where the retailer’s own policy permits it. |
That distinction matters. A flyer listing may require a loyalty card, a minimum purchase, multiple units or a specific date range. It may not be a printable manufacturer coupon, a barcode that scans at checkout or an automatic discount.

Why Reebee can be called Canadian-made
Y Combinator lists Reebee as a Kitchener, Canada company and identifies Tobiasz Dankiewicz as a co-founder who exited in 2022: Y Combinator’s Reebee profile. That supports describing the app as Canadian-founded or Canadian-born.
It is not accurate to imply that Reebee is still an independent Canadian startup. Flipp acquired Reebee in June 2022. Flipp says the Reebee and Flipp apps remain separate, while the web experience was consolidated: Reebee’s acquisition and website update. A later Reebee help article documents post-acquisition app changes: update 49.0.0 changes.
How to use Reebee for a grocery trip
- Install the Canadian app. Reebee’s help page lists iOS 16.0 or newer and Android 7.0 or newer: download instructions and requirements.
- Set your postal code or location. This determines which local flyers and retailers Reebee can display.
- Choose the stores you use. Examples in current listings include Walmart Canada, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Sobeys, Giant Tiger, Costco, Super C, Staples and Canadian Tire, although availability varies by area.
- Start with a fixed list. Search high-cost or frequently purchased items first rather than browsing every promotion.
- Compare the advertised offers. Check package size and unit price, not only the headline price.
- Read the conditions. Note loyalty-card requirements, quantity limits, dates, participating locations and exact brand or size.
- Save items and group them by store. This turns the search into a usable trip plan.
- Use a Watch List for repeat purchases. Alerts can help you wait for a better promotion when the item is not urgent.
- Keep evidence for a price match. Save the relevant flyer page or clipping, then confirm the retailer’s current policy before checkout.
- Verify urgent items independently. Reebee displays promotions; it does not guarantee that a particular store has stock.
A practical strategy is to use one primary store and add another stop only when the combined savings justify it. The relevant calculation is:

Which stores and categories appear?
Reebee’s app listings describe hundreds of local retailers and categories such as groceries, pharmacy, electronics, home and garden, general merchandise, office and school supplies, hardware, automotive and department stores. The Canadian listings include examples such as Walmart Canada, Giant Tiger, Real Canadian Superstore, Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, No Frills, Costco, Super C, Staples and Canadian Tire:
Those examples are not a promise of nationwide coverage. A chain may publish different prices or dates by province, and a regional retailer may appear for one postal code but not another.

Why a store or flyer may be missing
Reebee’s help centre says a missing store can mean there is no current flyer, the retailer is not in Reebee’s network, the user is outside the relevant distribution area or the postal code does not qualify for that flyer: why a store may not appear.
This limitation is especially relevant for rural shoppers, regional chains, Atlantic Canada and Quebec, and anyone whose preferred retailer distributes promotions through a separate loyalty or coupon system. If a store is absent, check the retailer’s own app or website rather than assuming there is no promotion.
Does Reebee really save money?
It can improve the odds of saving money, but the app cannot guarantee a lower final bill. Its strongest benefits are convenience and planning:
- Finding advertised prices without opening many separate flyers.
- Building a trip around several sale items.
- Preparing documentation for a permitted price match.
- Tracking recurring purchases until they go on sale.
- Reducing impulse buying by shopping from a planned list.
Your final result still depends on stock, taxes, loyalty conditions, package size, quantity limits and travel. A listed price may not be the lowest unit price, and a promotion may apply only to a particular flavour or size. Retailers—not Reebee—control substitutions, expired-flyer handling, regional exclusions and price-match decisions.

Price matching: useful evidence, not a guarantee
Reebee can help you locate a competing flyer and display it at the counter. Whether that evidence is accepted depends entirely on the retailer’s policy. A cashier may require an exact product match, a valid date, proof that the item is in stock or the original flyer format rather than an app screen.
Before travelling or planning a large purchase, read the retailer’s current price-match terms. Do not assume that every store accepts digital clippings, that loyalty prices qualify or that a national policy applies identically in every province.

When Reebee is the better tool
- You want one searchable view across multiple retailers.
- You compare weekly flyers before choosing where to shop.
- You need a shared or store-organized shopping list.
- You want alerts for items you buy repeatedly.
When a retailer-owned app is better
Retailer apps are usually the place for account-specific loyalty pricing, personalized digital coupons, points, pickup, delivery and online ordering. Their drawback is fragmentation: you may need several apps to cover your regular stores.
When a manufacturer-coupon program is better
Printable coupons, digital coupon clipping, rebates and rewards are separate systems. Reebee can help you discover a sale, but it is not a complete replacement for those programs.

Cost, compatibility and privacy details
Reebee is listed as free in the Canadian Apple App Store. Google Play identifies the app as containing ads. Store-generated figures change, but the listings observed in June–July 2026 showed approximately 393,000 Apple ratings with a 4.7 rating and more than 1 million Google Play downloads with a 4.7 rating. Google Play localized listings showed Android updates dated June 17 and June 25, 2026, respectively; the differing dates illustrate why version information should be checked in your own store.
Google Play also says the app may collect or share categories of data including location and personal information. Review the current store privacy and data-safety disclosures, and grant location access only if its local-flyer convenience is worth it to you: Google Play disclosures.
Common failure points
- Slow loading or freezing: Check the official Reebee Help Center for troubleshooting steps.
- List synchronization or sharing problems: Confirm that you are signed into the intended account and that the app is current.
- An unavailable advertisement: The flyer may have expired, been removed or be unavailable for your postal code.
- A disputed price match: Stop and review the retailer’s policy; the app cannot override it.
Who should install Reebee?
Reebee is a good fit for Canadian shoppers who regularly compare flyers, buy enough sale items to plan a trip and want a single cross-store list. It is less suitable for someone seeking a complete printable-coupon database, guaranteed inventory, automatic checkout discounts or one app that replaces every loyalty program.
