AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) did reach $99.99, but that was a historical promotion—not a price confirmed as live today. MacRumors reported the new Amazon deal on November 21, 2025, cutting Apple’s $179 U.S. list price by $79.01, or about 44%. Later Walmart holiday coverage reported the same price, while other $99.99 reports involved certified-refurbished units.
Deal status: $99.99 was a past promotion
The clearest new-product offer was Amazon’s $99.99 price reported by MacRumors on November 21, 2025. MacRumors described it as a new record low for the product at that time. A later TechRadar Walmart holiday report also listed $99.99.
Those promotions should not be treated as continuously available. The latest indexed summer 2026 deal coverage listed $144.99 as a second-best price (MacRumors deals roundup). Check the retailer’s checkout page for current stock, seller, shipping, taxes and final price before buying.

Make sure you are buying the ANC model
Retailers commonly show both AirPods 4 versions on one page. The standard AirPods 4 launched at $129, while the ANC model launched at $179. Confirm that the listing explicitly says “AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation” and that the selected configuration includes the wireless-charging case.

The important compromise: open-fit ANC
AirPods 4 with ANC use an open-fit design rather than silicone ear tips. That can feel more comfortable for people who dislike a sealed ear canal, but it provides less passive isolation and the fit depends heavily on ear shape. You may hear more surrounding sound than you would with AirPods Pro even when ANC is on.
They are therefore a lower-cost, open-fit ANC option—not an AirPods Pro equivalent. Apple’s comparison page positions AirPods Pro 3 above AirPods 4 with ANC, with an in-ear seal, stronger isolation positioning and additional hearing-related features.

- WORLD’S BEST IN-EAR ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION — Removes up to 2x more unwanted noise than AirPods Pro 2* so you can stay fully immersed in the moment.*
- BREAKTHROUGH AUDIO PERFORMANCE — Experience breathtaking, three-dimensional audio with AirPods Pro 3. A new acoustic architecture delivers transformed bass, detailed clarity so you can hear every instrument, and stunningly vivid vocals.
- HEART RATE SENSING — Built-in heart rate sensing lets you track your heart rate and calories burned for up to 50 different workout types.* With iPhone, you will have access to the Move ring, step count, and the new Workout Buddy,* powered by Apple Intelligence.*
- LIVE TRANSLATION — Communicate across language barriers using Live Translation,* enabled by Apple Intelligence.*
- EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE — Get up to 8 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation on a single charge. Or up to 10 hours in Transparency using the Hearing Aid feature.*
New versus refurbished: why the condition matters
A $99.99 headline does not always describe the same product condition. In April 2025, 9to5Mac reported $99.99 Best Buy Geek Squad Certified Refurbished AirPods 4 with ANC. That is not equivalent to a new retail pair.
- Check whether the listing says new, open-box, renewed or certified refurbished.
- Verify “sold by” and “shipped by,” especially on marketplace pages.
- Read the return period, warranty and battery-condition terms.
- Confirm the exact model and case included before payment.
- Expect price, shipping and inventory to change by location or membership status.

When the price is worth buying
- $99.99 new: an exceptional historical price for Apple users who want open-fit ANC.
- $119–$129 new: still a strong purchase from a reputable retailer.
- About $145: reasonable, but no longer a record-low deal.
- $169–$179: compare current AirPods Pro promotions before committing.
- $99.99 refurbished: potentially good value only after checking condition, warranty, return policy and seller.
Who should buy—and who should wait
Buyers who benefit most
- iPhone users who value automatic Apple pairing and ecosystem integration
- Listeners who prefer earbuds without silicone tips
- Commuters seeking ANC, Transparency mode and wireless charging at a deep discount
- Owners replacing aging AirPods batteries
Reasons to skip or compare further
- You need the strongest possible noise cancellation or a secure sealed fit.
- You prioritize the longest ANC battery life.
- You use Android and would not benefit from Apple-specific features; Apple notes that functionality can be limited on non-Apple devices.
- You are considering refurbished stock but cannot verify battery, seller or warranty terms.
What to check before paying
- Open the product details and select the ANC version, not standard AirPods 4.
- Confirm condition, seller and fulfillment method.
- Check the final cart total, shipping date, taxes and any membership requirement.
- Verify the return window and warranty.
- At checkout, make sure the $99.99 price still applies; holiday listings can remain visible after inventory disappears.
AirPods can function as Bluetooth headphones with non-Apple devices, but Apple-exclusive features may be limited. Features such as Voice Isolation also require compatible hardware, operating systems and firmware.
