Its headline features are 1,152 Mini LED dimming zones, DisplayHDR 1400 certification, 4K at up to 160Hz, and a 1080p competitive mode reaching 320Hz. The reported China launch price was ¥3,299.
That price is not a U.S. MSRP: no verified official U.S. launch or international retail price has been established. Buyers outside China must also account for shipping, taxes, reseller margins, warranty limitations, and a significant model-number problem. Later Chinese listings use the G7 Ultra name for a seemingly different 2,304-zone monitor with 4K/180Hz and 360Hz modes.
Launch date and availability
Hisense announced the monitor in China in September 2025, with reports identifying September 26, 2025 as the retail release date after a preorder period. The original product is commonly identified as model 27G7K-Ultra. The launch was China-focused; contemporary coverage did not establish an official U.S. or broader international release (TCL Central; Notebookcheck).
Import listings may exist, but an importer’s stock is not the same as an authorized local launch. Before ordering, confirm the seller, delivery country, power accessories, firmware language, dead-pixel policy, return route, and warranty jurisdiction.

China launch price and the real cost of importing
The reported launch price was ¥3,299 in China. A contemporary conversion put that at roughly $462, but that was a currency conversion, not a U.S. retail price (Notebookcheck).
An overseas buyer’s actual cost can be higher because of:
- international freight and insurance;
- import duty, VAT, sales tax, or customs brokerage;
- foreign-exchange and payment fees;
- the importer’s margin; and
- return shipping or repair costs if the unit arrives damaged.
Do not treat ¥3,299 or the approximate dollar conversion as an all-in price outside China. A reported three-year on-site warranty applies to China-market information unless Hisense or the local seller confirms coverage in your country.

What the Mini LED and HDR claims mean
1,152-zone local dimming
Compared with an edge-lit IPS monitor, 1,152 independently controlled zones can produce much stronger HDR contrast. The backlight can dim large parts of the screen while bright highlights remain intense. Hisense also claims algorithms that reduce halos.

- HI - QLED MINILED: Striking contrast and vivid, lifelike color put every scene in a new light. Whether it's a sunny landscape or a candlelit drama, the picture leaps off the screen. Mini-LED backlighting uses hundreds of precise light zones to enhance contrast across the screen. Paired with Hi-QLED technology, every color comes through with stunning depth and accuracy
- NATIVE 144HZ REFRESH RATE: Fast breaks, high-speed chases, live finales — every frame stays crisp and fluid, so the action is always exactly where you need it to be. Native 144Hz refresh performance keeps movement fast and sharp, reducing blur during gameplay and live sports. The quick response helps you stay in control during competitive gaming while making rapid camera shots in shows and movies easier to follow
- BUILT-IN SUBWOOFER: Immersive deep bass from the built-in subwoofer pulls you into the heart of the moment, from the rumble of an explosion to the thump of your favorite song. Feel like you’re a part of the action
- ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
- UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
Zone count is not a complete quality test. Blooming can remain around subtitles, mouse pointers, stars, and other small bright objects on dark backgrounds. Desktop windows and mixed bright-dark scenes may reveal the IPS panel’s limitations.
Peak brightness versus sustained brightness
The “up to 2,000 nits” figure describes a reported peak condition. It does not establish full-screen brightness, long-term brightness, tone mapping, or performance in every HDR game. DisplayHDR 1400 is a certification level, not a guarantee that every highlight reaches 1,400 nits.
IPS contrast and OLED comparison
The reported native contrast ratio is 1,000:1, typical for IPS LCD technology (PCOnline). Mini LED improves effective HDR contrast, but it does not provide OLED’s per-pixel black control. OLED and QD-OLED monitors generally avoid traditional Mini LED halos and have exceptionally fast pixel transitions; the Hisense can offer higher peak brightness and no comparable OLED burn-in mechanism. The better choice depends on room brightness, content, burn-in tolerance, and sensitivity to blooming.
How the dual-refresh modes work for gaming
4K at 160Hz
This is the image-quality mode for detailed single-player games, general PC use, and high-refresh 4K play. Reaching 160 frames per second at 4K requires a powerful graphics card, a game that can produce those frame rates, and a cable and output path that support the selected mode.
1080p at 320Hz
The competitive mode prioritizes frame rate and motion responsiveness. At 27 inches, 1080p is substantially less sharp than native 4K, so it is most sensible for esports titles where latency and very high frame rates matter more than fine detail. It is not equivalent to a native 1080p esports monitor in sharpness.

Launch coverage consistently identifies the original mode as 320Hz, although one secondary headline uses 330Hz. Treat 320Hz as the reliable original-model specification unless the exact product documentation says otherwise.
What “1ms” does and does not tell you
The 1ms GtG number is a claimed pixel-transition rating. It does not measure input lag, overshoot, consistency across transitions, or motion clarity at every overdrive setting. Those require instrumented testing, which was not established in the launch reports.

Ports, USB-C, KVM, and desk use
DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 are intended to support modern high-refresh sources, while USB-C can carry video and provide up to 90W of power to a compatible laptop. The USB hub and KVM can let one keyboard and mouse switch between two connected systems. However, HDMI or DisplayPort version labels alone do not prove that every advertised resolution-and-refresh combination works: GPU support, cable quality, firmware, and the monitor’s exact bandwidth implementation all matter.
The height-, tilt-, swivel-, and pivot-adjustable stand makes the display practical for a single-monitor desk, and reported VESA support allows an arm or wall mount. Confirm the exact VESA pattern and port layout in the seller’s manual.

On paper, the gamut claims are unusually broad for a gaming monitor: 100% Adobe RGB, 99% DCI-P3, and 99% sRGB, alongside a reported ΔE<2 factory-calibration claim. That combination could suit photo, video, and design work as well as games.

Wide gamut is not automatically accurate in every application. Unmanaged software may display sRGB content oversaturated unless the monitor offers a dependable sRGB clamp or the application uses color management. Ask whether the calibration report is supplied for the individual unit, install the correct ICC profile when appropriate, and remember that gamut coverage and color accuracy are different properties. No independent color measurements were established for this launch model.

Do not buy on the name alone. The original 27G7K-Ultra is the 1,152-zone, 4K/160Hz, 1080p/320Hz model described above.
Current Chinese marketplace pages also show a G7 Ultra-branded product described with 2,304 Mini LED zones, 4K at 180Hz, and a 360Hz dual mode. Those specifications should not be merged with the original launch model. Check the model number, zone count, native refresh rate, dual-mode resolution, seller photographs, and specification sheet before payment. Who should consider it?
Potentially good fit
- China-based buyers who can use local service and returns.
- Experienced importers seeking bright 4K Mini LED HDR.
- Players who want one monitor for 4K gaming and an esports refresh mode.
- Laptop users who can use USB-C video and 90W charging.
- Creators who can manage wide-gamut color and verify calibration.
Poorer fit
- Anyone requiring an official U.S. warranty or simple local returns.
- Users who demand OLED-like blacks without blooming.
- Competitive players who prefer native 1080p or 1440p high-refresh panels.
- Buyers who cannot calculate import taxes, shipping, and repair exposure.
- Anyone unwilling to verify whether a listing is the original or newer G7 Ultra revision.
Alternatives by priority
- OLED or QD-OLED: choose for per-pixel blacks, minimal blooming, and very fast transitions.
- Another 27-inch 4K Mini LED dual-mode monitor: compare zone count, HDR certification, ports, and warranty in the same region.
- Conventional 4K 144–160Hz IPS: choose for lower complexity and easier local support when HDR is less important.
- 1440p esports monitor: choose when native competitive resolution and sustained high frame rates matter more than 4K detail.
- Larger OLED or Mini LED display: consider for cinematic gaming where screen size outweighs desk footprint.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the exact model number and whether the listing specifies 1,152 or 2,304 zones.
- Verify the advertised refresh modes: original launch specifications are 4K/160Hz and 1080p/320Hz.
- Calculate the delivered cost, including freight, tax, duties, payment fees, and reseller margin.
- Confirm plug, voltage, firmware language, documentation, and return arrangements.
- Get written warranty terms for your country; do not assume the reported China three-year service transfers internationally.
- Check your GPU, cable, and laptop output capabilities before relying on 4K/160Hz or USB-C charging.
The Bottom Line
The original Hisense G7 Ultra is an unusually ambitious China-market monitor: 4K/160Hz, 1080p/320Hz, 1,152-zone Mini LED, and broad color claims at a reported ¥3,299 launch price. Its main risks are not the headline specification but uncertain international support, import economics, unmeasured HDR and motion performance, and confusion with a later 2,304-zone G7 Ultra listing.
