Bitdeer Pricing & Reviews 2024: Fees, Profitability, and Legitimacy

Bitdeer’s 2024 cloud-mining price was more than its advertised hash-rate fee. Learn how electricity charges, the halving, difficulty, payouts, and negative reviews affected the decision.

Bitdeer was a real, publicly reporting Bitcoin-mining company in 2024, but its cloud-mining contracts were not guaranteed-income investments. The amount advertised for hash rate was only one part of the bill: customers also paid electricity charges that could be paid in installments and adjusted to site costs. The April 20, 2024 Bitcoin halving, rising network difficulty, machine efficiency, Bitcoin’s price, payout rules, and Bitdeer’s support all affected the result.

The practical question is therefore not only “Is Bitdeer real?” It is whether a specific contract’s all-in cost could plausibly produce more Bitcoin than the customer paid, after operational and counterparty risks.

What Bitdeer sold in 2024

Bitdeer’s cloud-hash-rate product let a customer subscribe to computing power from company-operated mining machines and direct that hash rate to a mining pool. Bitdeer’s 2024 Form 20-F describes arrangements in which mining rewards were delivered through the applicable pool or arrangement, including customer-designated wallets: 2024 Form 20-F.

Classic mode

The customer paid a hash-rate subscription fee and separate electricity-related charges, then received the mining rewards associated with the subscribed hash rate.

Accelerator mode

Accelerator plans used a lower initial computing-power subscription fee. After the customer’s subscription and electricity costs were recovered under the contract’s definition, Bitdeer could receive an additional share of mining profits. That makes Accelerator a different risk-and-upside structure, not simply a cheaper plan.

Bitdeer pricing: the advertised rate was not the total price

Bitdeer’s fee documentation separates the bill into two components: a hash-rate fee and an electricity fee. The company says pricing is estimated using factors such as cryptocurrency prices, network difficulty, and network capacity, while electricity charges may reflect the mining site’s actual electricity price: Bitdeer fee explanation.

Cost component What it pays for Risk to check
Hash-rate fee Contracted computing power Upfront price may vary with market conditions and difficulty
Electricity fee Electricity and related operating costs May be paid in installments and adjusted; mining can stop when the balance expires
Total contract cost Both charges over the contract term Must be compared with expected net Bitcoin, not a headline hash-rate price

A basic calculation is:

Total cost = (hash-rate fee per TH/s/day × contracted TH × days) + (electricity fee per TH/s/day × contracted TH × days)

Official illustrative example

Bitdeer’s help page gives an example of 50 TH/s for 360 days at a hash-rate fee of $0.0126 per TH/s per day and an electricity fee of $0.0531 per TH/s per day. It calculates $227.50 in hash-rate fees, $955.80 in electricity fees, and $1,183.30 total, or $0.0657 per TH/s per day combined. This is an illustration of the calculation, not a verified historical 2024 quote.

Bitdeer says plan prices change dynamically with supply, demand, and mining difficulty. Its current page therefore cannot be silently used as a 2024 price: official cloud-mining page. A precise historical quote requires a dated receipt, screenshot, archived page, or contemporaneous announcement.

Electricity-payment failure

The company’s documentation says customers must renew electricity payments; if payment is not renewed, mining and revenue can stop and the missed period may not be compensated. Confirm whether auto-payment is enabled, monitor remaining electricity days, and retain payment records.

Why profitability was especially difficult after the 2024 halving

On April 20, 2024, Bitcoin’s block subsidy was reduced by half. Unless Bitcoin’s price rose enough to offset the reduction, the same equipment produced less gross revenue. Higher network hash rate and difficulty further reduced the Bitcoin earned per unit of hash rate. Older, less-efficient machines were most exposed.

What a credible break-even calculation needs

  • Bitcoin price and the dates used
  • Network difficulty or hash-rate assumption
  • Block subsidy, including the post-halving subsidy
  • Machine model and energy efficiency
  • Pool fee and any platform or withdrawal fee
  • Electricity rate and whether it can change
  • Contract length and expected downtime
  • Minimum withdrawal threshold and any internal-balance rules
  • Taxes and blockchain transaction costs

Bitdeer’s calculator-style estimates should be treated as scenarios, not forecasts. The company warns that static calculations assume future cryptocurrency price, network difficulty, and block reward remain unchanged: Bitdeer cloud-mining page. “Mining is active” also does not mean that the Bitcoin produced exceeds the fees paid.

Company results are not customer returns

Bitdeer reported 2024 revenue of $163.1 million from self-mining, $39.8 million from cloud hash rate, $67.6 million from general hosting, and $64.0 million from membership hosting. Total revenue was $349.8 million and total gross profit was $66.4 million, while net loss was $599.2 million. Cloud-hash-rate revenue fell from $67.9 million in 2023 to $39.8 million in 2024. Bitdeer attributed the decline to expiring contracts, lower average selling prices, expiring electricity subscriptions, the halving, and equipment changes: 2024 results and 2024 Form 20-F discussion.

In the fourth quarter, cloud-hash-rate revenue was $2.3 million versus $16.2 million in Q4 2023; Bitdeer said nearly all machines previously supporting long-term cloud contracts had been reallocated to self-mining during 2024. These figures show a substantial operating business, not that an individual retail contract was profitable.

Bitdeer reviews: what the public record does and does not show

On August 18, 2026, Trustpilot displayed Bitdeer’s profile at 2.0/5 from 17 reviews, with many one-star ratings and no reviews in the preceding 12 months at the time recorded: Trustpilot profile. Complaints included login access, slow support, electricity payments, repeated KYC or wallet requests, disputed withdrawals, unexpected fees or deposits, and changing electricity prices or terms.

Those are user allegations and experiences, not an audit. The profile contains reviews from multiple years, including 2021–2023, so the score cannot be labeled a measure of 2024 service quality. Review platforms are self-selected, and a customer who loses money because Bitcoin falls or difficulty rises may call a disclosed-risk product a scam. At the same time, a genuine company can still have serious billing, withdrawal, or support failures.

Is Bitdeer a scam?

The evidence supports a narrower answer: official Bitdeer was a real public mining company and reported cloud-hash-rate revenue, but that status does not make every plan profitable or every complaint unfounded. Treat company legitimacy, contract economics, customer support, and withdrawal performance as separate questions.

Protect yourself from impersonation and advance-fee fraud

  • Navigate directly to bitdeer.com; do not trust unsolicited Telegram, social-media, app, or lookalike-domain links.
  • Do not send a “tax,” “clearance,” “unlock,” or refundable deposit to release cryptocurrency without independently verifying the request through official support channels.
  • Distinguish ordinary, disclosed electricity payments from an unexpected demand made only when you request a withdrawal.
  • Keep contract receipts, payment confirmations, wallet records, and support correspondence.

Repeated KYC requests may reflect account-security procedures or poor handling; an account-specific record is needed to determine which. Do not automatically attribute every complaint using the Bitdeer name to the official platform.

Who might consider Bitdeer—and who should avoid it

Potentially suitable

  • Experienced miners who can model difficulty, halving, price, and fee sensitivity.
  • Buyers who can lose the entire contract cost without borrowing.
  • Users willing to monitor electricity balances, payout thresholds, wallet details, and support communications.

Poor fit

  • Beginners seeking predictable passive income or guaranteed returns.
  • Anyone using borrowed money or needing a fixed recovery date.
  • Users unable to tolerate Bitcoin-price, difficulty, electricity, and counterparty volatility.
  • Anyone treating a displayed revenue estimate as a fixed return.

How to compare Bitdeer with alternatives

Option Main exposure What you control
Buy Bitcoin directly Bitcoin price, custody, fees, and regulation The asset and its custody arrangement; no mining downtime or electricity renewal
Buy an ASIC Hardware cost, electricity, cooling, noise, repairs, obsolescence, and downtime The machine, pool, facility, and resale strategy; one vendor example is Bitmain
Host an ASIC Hosting provider, energy price, maintenance, and machine performance The hardware, subject to the host’s operations
Hash-rate marketplace Marketplace fees, liquidity, custody, and profitability Usually more flexibility than a fixed contract; one example is NiceHash
Cloud mining All-in fees, difficulty, electricity adjustments, payout rules, and provider solvency No physical machine; the provider controls infrastructure

Run the same dates and assumptions for each option. Compare the Bitcoin acquired, not just dollar revenue, and include every fee and the capital that remains at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did Bitdeer publish a definitive 2024 price per TH/s per day?

Not reliably from the current public page. Bitdeer dynamically adjusts pricing, and its fee documentation provides the calculation method plus an illustrative example rather than a definitive historical quote.

Could Bitdeer electricity charges change after purchase?

Bitdeer’s fee documentation says electricity charges can be adjusted according to the mining site’s actual electricity price and may be paid in installments.

Does a low Trustpilot score prove Bitdeer was fraudulent?

No. The score is a warning about reported experiences, especially support and withdrawals, but reviews are self-selected, span multiple years, and do not independently establish fraud.

The Bottom Line

Bitdeer was legitimate as a corporate mining operator, but a 2024 cloud-mining contract was a high-risk, price-sensitive purchase. Judge it only after adding electricity to the hash-rate fee, applying post-halving and difficulty assumptions, checking payout and withdrawal rules, and comparing the expected Bitcoin with buying BTC or owning an ASIC.
