In an EE Times interview published June 18, 2025, he discussed the company’s business position, growth markets and product wins during his first months in the role. The picture was of a chipmaker rooted in automotive sensing and power management, while pursuing opportunities in areas including data centers, e-mobility and industrial automation.
What Doogue’s first months at Allegro focused on
Doogue’s career at Allegro began after he graduated from Dartmouth in 1998. He started as a chip designer and later held roles including chief technology officer before becoming CEO in February 2025. The interview framed his first 100 days around Allegro’s financial performance, its product-design momentum and markets where the company sees room to grow.
The interview summary does not provide a transcript or a detailed day-by-day account of his management actions. It does, however, describe the business he was leading: a company with substantial automotive revenue and reported design wins spanning automotive, biomedical and other applications.
Allegro’s latest reported revenue and growth
For fiscal 2025, the 12 months ending March 28, Allegro reported $725 million in sales, of which $544 million came from automotive. In the quarter ending March 28, automotive sales increased 8% sequentially, while industrial and other sales increased 9% sequentially. Those quarterly figures compare with the preceding quarter; they are not year-over-year growth rates.
| Measure | Reported result | Period and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Total sales | $725 million | Allegro fiscal 2025, year ending March 28, 2025 |
| Automotive revenue | $544 million | Allegro fiscal 2025, year ending March 28, 2025 |
| Automotive sales growth | 8% | Sequential growth in the quarter ending March 28, 2025 |
| Industrial and other sales growth | 9% | Sequential growth in the quarter ending March 28, 2025 |
The mix matters to investors assessing Allegro’s exposure: automotive accounted for most of the stated annual sales, while the quarterly increase in industrial and other sales points to activity outside that core market. The figures alone do not establish whether either growth rate will continue.
Why onsemi’s proposed acquisition mattered
EE Times reported that onsemi had proposed acquiring Allegro for $6.9 billion and that Allegro’s board unanimously indicated the offer was inadequate. That is the specific position described in the interview summary; it does not establish a final transaction outcome or provide the board’s detailed valuation rationale.

For Allegro, the proposal raised the strategic question of whether to remain independent or pursue a sale. The available reporting supports saying that the board considered the proposal insufficient, not assigning an unstated reason such as price per share, financing terms or regulatory concerns.
Where Allegro sees growth opportunities
The growth areas discussed in the interview include e-mobility, data-center power management, clean energy, robotics and automation. These applications fit the company’s stated areas of work in magnetic sensing and power-management semiconductors, but the interview summary does not quantify expected revenue or market share from any of them.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- E-mobility: Automotive electrification creates demand for sensing and power-control components.
- Data-center power management: Allegro identified data centers as a potential application for its power-management expertise.
- Clean energy: The company named clean-energy applications among its growth areas.
- Robotics and automation: These markets broaden its industrial opportunity beyond vehicle systems.
Design wins across automotive and other applications
The reported wins indicate activity across several product categories and end markets. Allegro’s wins included its first Chinese automotive high-voltage isolated gate-driver design win, TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) wins in biomedical applications and xEV thermal management, and a record number of electromechanical-braking wins. A design win is evidence that a product has been selected for a particular program; it does not by itself disclose shipment volumes, revenue or the timing of production.
For readers evaluating Allegro’s product reach, the examples connect magnetic sensing and gate-driving technology to vehicle systems while also showing applications outside conventional automotive sensing. The interview summary does not name the customers or provide financial values for the wins.

What the interview establishes—and what it does not
The interview provides a snapshot of Allegro’s leadership transition, fiscal-2025 scale, sequential quarterly sales trends, strategic bid context and selected design wins as of June 18, 2025. It does not establish the eventual outcome of the onsemi proposal, forecast future growth, or give a complete operational account of Doogue’s first 100 days. Its useful takeaway is the combination of a largely automotive revenue base and a stated push into adjacent power and sensing markets.
