At closing, Molex said AirBorn’s military-grade connectors, cables and electronic assemblies would form the foundation of a new Molex Aerospace and Defense Division. Michael Cole, who was AirBorn’s president and CEO at the time of the announcement, was named to lead that division.

What does AirBorn make?
AirBorn produces rugged connectors and electronic components for aerospace and defense, commercial air, space exploration, medical and industrial applications. The completion announcement specifically identified military-grade connectors, cables and electronic assemblies. These are specialized business-to-business components, not generic consumer accessories.
What happens to AirBorn products and part numbers?
Molex’s current AirBorn integration page says the AirBorn portfolio, part numbers, certifications, engineering expertise and dedicated support team remain in place as the business integrates with Molex. That is Molex’s stated customer-transition position; it should not be read as independent confirmation that every product, service process or operating detail is unchanged.

Who distributes AirBorn products now?
Molex’s completion announcement identified TTI, Inc. as a valued distribution partner for both companies. On September 18, 2025, Avnet announced that it had become a franchised distributor for AirBorn products in EMEA and the Americas.
Those announcements show dated distribution-channel activity. They do not establish consumer-retail availability, an affiliate program or universal stock for every AirBorn part. Procurement teams should confirm regional authorization and application-specific availability with Molex or an authorized distributor.

What company scale did Molex report after the deal?
Molex’s December 4, 2024 completion announcement described the combined organization as having more than 50,000 employees and 85 plants in 20 countries. Those are announcement-era figures from 2024, not a verified current headcount or facility count.

Is there evidence of facility changes?
A Massachusetts WARN notice dated August 20, 2025 concerned the AirBorn facility at 355 Constitution Drive in Taunton. It stated that the facility was expected to close beginning December 31, 2025, with the expected period ending December 31, 2026. The notice is location-specific and describes an expected period; it does not verify the eventual closure outcome or establish company-wide employment, plant or integration effects.
What the acquisition means for buyers
The clearest customer-facing message is continuity of AirBorn’s specialized portfolio and support while it becomes part of Molex’s aerospace and defense organization. Buyers should treat availability, qualifications and facility status as time- and location-dependent, confirm them through current Molex documentation or an authorized channel, and avoid assuming that another connector is interchangeable without engineering verification.
