Vanta’s New Trust Center Tools Help Enterprises Handle Security Reviews

Vanta added conversational AI and Questionnaire Automation to Trust Center in May 2024. The tools draft answers from existing documentation, but accuracy and compliance still depend on current evidence and human approval.

Vanta’s May 1, 2024 product announcement introduced two additions to its Trust Center: a conversational Vanta AI experience for visitors and Questionnaire Automation for security teams. Together, the tools are designed to reduce repetitive work when customers ask about controls, certifications and policies—while leaving organizations responsible for maintaining accurate evidence and approving every response.

What Vanta announced

The announcement covered two connected workflows in Vanta Trust Center. The first lets an authorized Trust Center visitor ask questions in a conversational interface. Vanta said its AI generates an answer from the resources that visitor is allowed to see, displays the resources used, and gives administrators visibility into incoming questions and recurring themes.

Vanta said administrators could enable or disable Vanta AI and that it would not train models on customer data. Those statements describe Vanta’s May 1, 2024 launch announcement; they are vendor representations rather than an independent audit finding.

The second addition, Questionnaire Automation, creates suggested answers for security teams to review and approve. Vanta described a knowledge base built from previously submitted questionnaires and security documentation, with the ability to incorporate Vanta policies. The workflow was designed to work with forms, spreadsheets and third-party portals.

How the workflow works

1. Build the answer library

Teams import prior questionnaires and upload relevant documentation and policies. Current Vanta guidance says coverage insights can identify unanswered areas, gaps or conflicting information. The resulting library is the source from which suggested answers are generated.

2. Draft responses in supported formats

Questionnaire Automation uses the organization’s documentation and prior responses to propose answers across forms, spreadsheets and external portals. It drafts text; it does not create a SOC 2 report, invent a policy, or supply evidence the organization has not provided.

3. Collaborate and approve

Vanta’s current materials describe collaboration features and approval workflows. A reviewer should verify that each answer is accurate, current and appropriate for the requesting customer before sending it. Vanta’s Help Center advises approving answers and marking a questionnaire complete only when the team is ready.

4. Let customers ask the Trust Center directly

For visitors with access to the relevant resources, the conversational layer can address questions such as “When did you last complete your SOC 2 report and were there any exceptions?” or “How does your company handle encryption?” Showing the underlying resources helps the visitor trace an answer back to published material.

What determines answer quality

The system can answer only questions covered by the organization’s knowledge base. In practice, accuracy depends on whether the source material is complete, consistent and up to date. A stale policy can produce a polished but misleading response, while an uncovered question still requires a subject-matter expert.

  • Review expiration dates and control descriptions before importing older questionnaires.
  • Keep policies, reports and Trust Center resources synchronized with the current control environment.
  • Use coverage insights to find topics with no approved answer or conflicting source material.
  • Assign an accountable reviewer for each questionnaire rather than treating AI output as final.

What the published performance figures mean

Vanta’s current product page, observed September 27, 2026, reports that 80% of security questions are answered on average and that 95% of AI-generated answers are accepted. Vanta qualifies those results as varying with the information in a customer’s knowledge base, so they should not be read as universal benchmarks.

The same page cites “81% faster completion of security reviews” from an IDC white paper published in January 2025. The white paper was sponsored by Vanta, and the figure should therefore be attributed to that sponsored study rather than presented as an independent, across-the-market result.

Vanta’s 2024 launch post also gave a customer example: Noibu said it completed security questionnaires “5x faster with Vanta.” That is a customer result reported by Vanta, not a promise of five-times-faster performance for every organization.

Launch timing and current availability

In the May 1, 2024 announcement, Vanta described the Trust Center conversation feature as being in preview and said Questionnaire Automation was expected to reach general availability in the following weeks. Current Vanta product and Help Center pages describe Questionnaire Automation as an available product, but note that some capabilities may require a plan upgrade or add-on. Availability should be confirmed for the organization’s plan, region and desired integrations.

Features mentioned as future plans in 2024 coverage—including additional workflow initiation, SCIM support and certain reporting or bulk-operation enhancements—should not be assumed to be available today without current confirmation.

Questions to ask before adopting it

Teams evaluating the product should test the workflow against their own review process, not just headline percentages.

  • Which intake formats and third-party portals are supported for the questionnaires customers actually send?
  • Can every suggested answer be traced to an approved document or prior response?
  • How are customer-specific resources separated and access-controlled in the Trust Center?
  • Who owns review, approval, expiry checks and final submission?
  • Which CRM, workflow and identity integrations are included in the selected plan?
  • How are language, regional privacy and data-retention requirements handled?
  • How does the vendor define “answered,” “accepted” and “faster,” and what population supports each figure?

What the announcement does—and does not—prove

Vanta’s tools address the administrative burden of repeating the same security answers across customer reviews and Trust Center visits. They can organize existing evidence, draft responses and expose questions that recur. They do not, by themselves, establish that an organization is compliant, validate every control, or guarantee a security outcome. Human governance remains necessary whenever an answer affects a customer’s risk decision.

Vanta also quoted Leah Bosé, identified in the launch post as Senior Privacy Compliance Manager at ZoomInfo: “With the Salesforce integration, we’re able to see exactly how many dollars in revenue are directly touching the Trust Center.” Her statement concerns measuring revenue influenced through Trust Center interactions; it is not evidence that Questionnaire Automation independently caused that revenue.
