Broadcom has appointed Arrow Electronics as a cloud commerce manager for VMware across 19 European countries. VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) partners in those markets can obtain VMware Cloud Foundation through Arrow, alongside local commercial and enablement support tied to Broadcom’s redesigned VCSP program.
What the Arrow appointment changes
Microscope reported the appointment on 21 August 2024. Arrow now has a central distribution and enablement role for VMware cloud partners in the covered markets, rather than serving only as a conventional product distributor.
The arrangement follows Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware and its effort to simplify the portfolio around VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), the private-cloud platform named in the partner deal. For a VCSP partner, the practical route is to work through Arrow for access, commercial administration and program support, subject to the terms available in its country.
Which countries are covered?
The announcement lists these 19 markets:

How Broadcom changed the VCSP partner model
A simplified platform focus
The article describes Broadcom’s post-acquisition VMware offering as being simplified around Cloud Foundation. Broadcom also cited June 2024 enhancements, including VCF Import, which it says is intended to accelerate adoption and time to value. The same announcement described capabilities aimed at helping developers without increasing business risk. These are vendor claims, not independent performance tests.
The Advantage Partner Program
Broadcom also revised the Advantage Partner Program for VCSP partners. The changes are described as more streamlined pricing and benefits, with the prospect of richer margins for participating partners. The exact economics depend on the partner’s agreement, usage and market, so the announcement should not be read as a guaranteed margin increase.

More local enablement
Arrow’s role combines distribution with local technical and commercial assistance. Nick Bannister, president of Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA, said Arrow has distributed VMware solutions in Europe for more than two decades and that its local teams would help customers grow revenue and use the new Advantage Partner Program. Ahmar Mohammad, Broadcom’s vice-president of partners, managed services and go-to-market transformation, said Arrow’s European presence and VMware track record suited Broadcom’s VCSP strategy.
What access through Arrow can mean for a VCSP partner
- Commercial route: Arrow becomes the announced channel for obtaining VMware Cloud Foundation in the 19 listed markets.
- Program guidance: Partners can seek help understanding the Advantage Partner Program’s pricing, benefits and participation requirements.
- Local support: Arrow’s country teams are positioned to provide regional commercial and technical coordination rather than leaving every partner to work directly with a global vendor organization.
- Migration context: VCF Import and related June 2024 capabilities may be relevant to partners onboarding existing environments, but the announcement does not provide independent migration timings or success rates.
What the deal does not establish
The announcement does not publish a neutral benchmark for Cloud Foundation performance, a market-size estimate or a single pan-European price. It also does not guarantee that every VCSP partner will receive the same discount, margin, support level or customer contract terms.

Paul Turner, vice-president of products for Broadcom’s VMware Cloud Foundation division, called VCF “the industry’s first private cloud platform to offer the combined power of public and private clouds with unmatched operational simplicity and proven total cost of ownership value.” That is Broadcom’s positioning, not an independent assessment of total cost or operational simplicity.
Questions partners should settle before signing up
- Confirm territory: Check that the partner’s legal entity and intended customer deployments fall within one of the 19 covered countries.
- Request the current commercial schedule: Ask Arrow for the applicable Cloud Foundation pricing, usage rules, renewal terms and any country-specific taxes or currency treatment.
- Map Advantage benefits: Obtain the written requirements for enrollment, technical competencies, support obligations and any incentives before forecasting margins.
- Define onboarding support: Clarify who handles architecture, licensing, migration planning and escalation when VCF Import or another VCF capability is used.
- Check continuity: Confirm how Arrow and Broadcom will handle renewals, customer ownership, support transitions and changes to the VCSP program.
Why the appointment matters for European cloud partners
For partners already building managed VMware services, Arrow offers a named European route into Broadcom’s post-acquisition channel structure. The value is likely to depend less on the appointment alone than on the written country terms, the practical support Arrow provides and whether the revised Advantage economics fit each partner’s operating model.
