A 2005 Ford GT associated with Paul Walker and Roger Rodas’s Always Evolving Collection sold for $627,000 on December 4, 2025, in a Bring a Trailer auction. The U.S.-specification car was one of 14 2005 model-year examples finished in Mark IV Red without factory racing stripes. It is a completed sale, not a current listing or asking price.
What sold, and for how much?
The car was offered on dealer consignment from California and sold on Bring a Trailer after an auction that opened in late November 2025. The listing reported 3,701 miles, while its descriptive text rounded that to 3,700. It also recorded registration history in Virginia, California, and Montana, and said the car came with a clean Montana title and a Carfax report showing no accidents or other reported damage. Bring a Trailer’s sale listing records the $627,000 result.
That figure is a historical auction result, not a current market quote. As one point of comparison, RM Sotheby’s reported a $478,000 sale in 2021 for another 2005 Ford GT associated with the Walker/Rodas collection. The cars had different mileage and equipment profiles, so the two results are context rather than a like-for-like valuation. RM Sotheby’s 2021 listing
What does “ex–Paul Walker” mean here?
The Bring a Trailer listing identifies the GT as having been part of the Always Evolving Collection, founded by Paul Walker and Roger Rodas and based in Santa Clarita, California. That supports describing the car as associated with their collection; it does not establish that Walker personally drove it, that it was exclusively his personal car, or that he modified it. RM Sotheby’s notes that many cars from the collection were sold after Walker’s death.

There is also a reason not to conflate this sale with another well-documented collection car. RM Sotheby’s identifies a Mark IV Red stripe-delete 2005 GT, chassis 1FAFP90S45Y400282, as part of Always Evolving from 2011 to April 2014. The readily available Bring a Trailer text for the December 2025 sale does not provide a chassis number, so the two cars cannot be confirmed as identical from these records alone. Why is the Mark IV Red stripe-delete specification rare?
Ford produced 2,022 first-generation GTs for the 2005 model year. RM Sotheby’s identifies just 14 of those as Mark IV Red cars ordered without racing stripes. The 14-car count applies to that specific model year, paint color, and stripe-delete configuration—not to all first-generation GTs or all red examples.

The modern Ford GT was a production road car styled as a tribute to Ford’s GT40 racing cars. The first-generation model spans the 2005 and 2006 model years, with total production commonly reported at 4,038 cars. Ford GT Forum’s model overview
What are the car’s specifications and modifications?
Factory power came from a mid-mounted, supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8 rated at 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. A Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle and helical limited-slip differential sent power to the rear wheels. The body used aluminum panels over an extruded-aluminum space frame with roll-bonded floors; Camilo Pardo led the design as a modern interpretation of Ford’s 1960s Le Mans-winning GT40s.

This particular car was not entirely stock. Bring a Trailer documented an Accufab throttle body, aftermarket ECU tune and exhaust, Penske dampers, and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear ADV.1 twin-spoke wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Listed equipment also included Brembo brakes, HID headlights, air conditioning, a McIntosh CD stereo, and red-finished brake calipers.
The sale included an SCT handheld tuner and a spare factory-style set of BBS forged lightweight aluminum wheels mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. In November 2025, the listing said the car received an oil change and replacement of its mass-airflow sensor, battery, fuel filter, and spark plugs. It also noted a Steve Saleen signature on an engine-bay cross-member. These are details reported in the sale listing, not an independent mechanical inspection.

How should buyers read the auction result?
The $627,000 sale reflects the combined appeal of a narrowly defined factory specification, reported low mileage, collection provenance, and the car’s equipment and condition documentation. Those factors are not interchangeable: mileage, originality, modifications, provenance records, title history, and auction venue can all affect a Ford GT’s price. A single auction result—and especially a comparison with a different car sold years earlier—cannot establish what another example is worth today.
For a transaction involving a similarly collectible car, the practical lesson is to verify the identity and records rather than rely on a headline. Match the VIN across title, service history, and provenance documentation; distinguish seller-reported work from independently inspected condition; and compare cars with similar specifications and sale dates before treating an auction price as a benchmark.
