The service reportedly let people maintain structured resume information, attach work samples, publish a personalized jobrary.com page, change visibility, and download a PDF. That describes the product as documented in August 2010—not a working 2026 signup guide. Jobrary’s current operation, account access, and data retention cannot be verified.
What Jobrary was
Jobrary was an early online resume and portfolio-management platform. Its central idea was to keep career information in one hosted profile instead of repeatedly editing separate documents and scattering portfolio files across email, personal websites, and file storage.
The contemporaneous introduction described the service as useful when an applicant needed different resume or CV versions for different positions. “Portfolio management” meant presenting work samples alongside resume information; it was not evidence of a project-management system, professional network, applicant-tracking system, recruiter marketplace, or application analytics product. How the original workflow worked
Every interface detail below is historical and comes from the 2010 product coverage. It should not be treated as a currently available menu, URL pattern, or privacy control.

- Create an account. The reported signup flow began with choosing a domain name.
- Receive a personalized address. The documented format was
https://DOMAINname.jobrary.com/. - Enter resume information. Sections included objective, education, experience, skills, certification, and references, with the ability to add custom categories.
- Add portfolio material. The article says users could attach pictures, videos, and PDFs for visitors to view or download.
- Choose visibility. Users could reportedly switch the CV between public and private with one click.
- Share or export. A public URL could be sent to employers, and a PDF copy could be downloaded for printing or conventional submission.
What problem Jobrary solved
For its period, Jobrary addressed several practical inconveniences:
- Maintaining multiple resume versions without reformatting every document from scratch.
- Keeping portfolio files together rather than sending numerous attachments.
- Giving employers a browser-based link instead of a large email attachment.
- Providing a PDF when an application still required a conventional document.
- Using structured fields to impose consistency on common CV sections.
Those benefits came with a trade-off: predefined categories could make a conventional CV easier to organize but might constrain an unusual career history or a highly art-directed layout.

Is Jobrary still available?
Jobrary appears defunct or, at minimum, unavailable and unsupported; its present operating status cannot be verified.
The original coverage was published and updated on August 13, 2010. A third-party monitoring page records repeated downtime for jobrary.com, including checks through July 2023 (NotOpening). A separate domain-information page lists a registration expiry date of September 9, 2025, based on WHOIS data last updated October 19, 2024 (AZStats). These are third-party records, not an announcement from Jobrary, and they do not prove that every historical account or file was deleted.

There is no verified current official product page, support center, pricing page, or signup flow in the available evidence. Do not rely on an old subdomain for an active job search, and do not assume that a page asking for old credentials is operated by the original service.
What former users should do
Recover your own copies first
- Search computers, Downloads folders, email attachments, cloud drives, and printed files for exported PDFs.
- Search old email for
jobrary,resume,CV, and the former subdomain. - Look for editable source documents and original portfolio assets, not only the final PDF.
- Check the Internet Archive for a public profile that mattered to your job search. An archive may preserve a public snapshot, but it will not normally restore private account data.
Protect your accounts and reputation
- Change any password that was reused on Jobrary elsewhere.
- Replace old Jobrary links in resumes, email signatures, social profiles, and applications.
- Assume old portfolio media may be missing even if a cached page survives.
- Do not upload confidential client work or references to an unverified replacement page.
What a modern replacement should provide
A current setup is often better as two connected pieces: an ATS-friendly application resume and a richer public portfolio. Evaluate tools against the following requirements.

Resume creation and versioning
- Duplicate and tailor multiple versions for specific jobs.
- Keep editable source content rather than only static PDFs.
- Export to PDF and, where appropriate, DOCX.
- Reorder sections and control formatting without hiding essential text in graphics.

- A stable public URL, preferably with custom-domain support.
- Image, video, PDF, and link embeds that work on mobile devices.
- Unlisted or password-protected sharing for sensitive case studies.
- Independent asset downloads and migration options.
Job-search workflow
- Application tracking, reminders, interview notes, and status fields.
- Job-description comparison and cover-letter support where useful.
- Import and export options so your records are not trapped in one vendor.
Privacy and portability
- A clear privacy policy, deletion process, and retention explanation.
- Control over public indexing and reference visibility.
- Two-factor authentication or comparable account protection.
- Regular backups of editable resumes, PDFs, and portfolio files.
Public portfolio versus application resume
A public portfolio can demonstrate the quality and context of your work, but it should not replace a tailored application resume. Recruiters often need a quickly scannable, text-based document, while a portfolio can be visual and expansive.
Keep a conventional resume with readable typography and standard headings for applications. Link to the richer portfolio from that resume. References generally should not be displayed publicly without permission, and client-confidential work should be redacted, unlisted, or password-protected.

PDF and applicant-tracking risks
The historical description does not establish that Jobrary’s PDF output was designed for modern applicant-tracking systems. A PDF can look correct to a person while parsing badly in hiring software.
- Select and copy text to confirm it is real text rather than an image.
- Check that headings, employers, dates, and contact details remain in logical reading order.
- Use accessibility or text-extraction tools when available.
- Keep a plain-text or DOCX version when an employer requests it.

Treat the service as historical, recover any personal copies independently, and use a separate ATS-ready resume plus a durable portfolio platform for current applications.
