The reported $370-off Galaxy S24 Ultra deal was a real, historical U.S. Prime Day promotion from July 2024—not a verified offer today. The clearest reports tie the full discount to the unlocked 512GB model at $1,049.99; the 256GB version was reported at about $975 with a smaller discount. The promotion has expired, so those figures are useful for understanding the deal, not as current prices.
What the $370 Prime Day deal actually included
The best-supported match for the headline was the 512GB unlocked Galaxy S24 Ultra. 9to5Toys reported it at $1,049.99, down $370 from a stated $1,419.99 reference price. That is an advertised reduction from the listed reference price, not proof that $1,419.99 was the phone’s normal street price everywhere. 9to5Toys’ deal report identifies the unlocked 512GB listing.
| Storage | Reported July 2024 price | Reported discount | What the reports establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB | About $975 | About $324–$325 | Android Headlines separated this lower-storage price from the 512GB offer; coverage used slightly different reference-price figures. Android Headlines |
| 512GB | $1,049.99 | $370 | The clearest match for the full-discount headline, reported for an unlocked phone. 9to5Toys |
| 1TB | Not stated in the cited coverage | Not stated in the cited coverage | The available reports do not establish that this tier received the same promotion. |
A Droid Life report paired a $975 price with a $370-off description, which makes the storage tier unclear. The more specific breakdown from Android Headlines and the 512GB listing identified by 9to5Toys resolve the likely mix-up: about $975 referred to 256GB, while about $1,049 referred to 512GB. A separate Tom’s Guide report also cited a $974 Prime Day price, but that does not establish that the 256GB configuration received the full $370 reduction.
What shoppers needed to know about the offer terms
Unlocked did not mean universally compatible
The clearest report described an unlocked model, rather than a carrier promotion requiring a new line or installment plan. In general, an unlocked phone is not tied to one carrier by the sale listing. Still, check the exact model number with your carrier: supported bands and features such as 5G, Wi-Fi calling, eSIM, and visual voicemail can vary by model and network, especially when traveling internationally.

- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Prime eligibility and trade-ins were separate considerations
The promotion was presented as a Prime Day offer, so shoppers should have expected Prime eligibility requirements; the exact checkout conditions depended on the listing. Android Authority’s coverage places the offer in the Prime Day context, but the available reporting does not establish a universal checkout rule for every buyer.
The advertised sale price and trade-in value are different things. Deal coverage described the price reduction separately from additional trade-in savings, which depended on the device submitted and its condition. Any card-linked offer or financing incentive would also have been conditional. The advertised figures did not include location-dependent sales tax.

Listing details could change the real purchase
Marketplace listings can differ by seller, condition, fulfillment, color, and remaining inventory. The deal reports do not independently establish every listing’s warranty, return terms, or factory-new status. Before buying a comparable listing, verify those details rather than assuming they are guaranteed by the product title.
Was the 512GB model worth roughly $75 more?
At the reported prices, the gap between the 256GB model at about $975 and the 512GB model at $1,049.99 was roughly $75. That could be a reasonable premium for someone who keeps large video files, games, offline media, or a sizable photo library on the phone. It is not automatically better value: buyers who rely on cloud storage or regularly clear files may have little use for the extra capacity.

Is the Galaxy S24 Ultra still worth considering?
The S24 Ultra is a large, premium Android phone built around features that matter most to particular buyers. Samsung lists a 6.8-inch display, titanium construction, integrated S Pen functionality, four rear camera lenses including optical image stabilization, a 5,000mAh battery, and storage options up to 1TB. Its launch positioning also emphasized Galaxy AI and mobile productivity. Samsung’s S24-series comparison and S24 launch announcement describe these features.
Samsung’s security-update scope includes the S24 series in its policy offering support of up to seven years for eligible devices. That is a policy scope, not a guarantee that every region, carrier, and model receives every update on the same date. Samsung’s update page for model SM-S928B shows Android 16 and a 2026 security update for that regional variant; it does not by itself establish rollout status for every U.S. model. See Samsung’s security-update scope and the SM-S928B update page.

It suits buyers who value its specific strengths
- You want the integrated S Pen for notes, marking up documents, or other stylus tasks.
- You prefer a large display and a versatile camera system with zoom capability.
- You expect to keep substantial media or apps stored locally, especially on the 512GB tier.
- You want an unlocked premium phone and value Samsung’s stated support policy.
It is a weaker fit for other priorities
- You want a compact or less expensive phone and would not use the S Pen or large display.
- You prioritize the newest generation’s hardware or camera changes over an older flagship’s discounted price.
- Your carrier’s trade-in offer makes a newer phone more attractive after you calculate the actual cost.
- You are comfortable with a renewed or refurbished device and its distinct condition, warranty, and return trade-offs—or, conversely, require a guaranteed factory-new unit from a seller whose terms you can verify.
How to assess a current S24 Ultra listing
The July 2024 offer is historical. As of August 18, 2026, the available evidence does not verify that the $370-off promotion is live or establish a current S24 Ultra price. Treat any present-day listing as a separate offer, and compare its full checkout cost with newer Galaxy models and other phones that fit your needs.
- Confirm the storage tier and color in the listing; do not assume the headline discount applies to every configuration.
- Check the exact model number and ask your carrier to confirm compatibility and the features you need.
- Read the “sold by” and “shipped by” details, and confirm whether the phone is new, renewed, or open-box.
- Review the return window, warranty eligibility, and whether the device is intended for the U.S. market or has been previously activated.
- Check the final checkout price, including any Prime eligibility, coupon, payment, shipping, or trade-in condition; add applicable tax for your location.
- Compare the final amount against a newer Ultra, a smaller Galaxy model, or a carrier offer using the same assumptions about trade-in value and financing.
For listings to compare, see Amazon’s unlocked 512GB search and Best Buy’s unlocked S24 Ultra search; neither search page establishes a particular current price or inventory. Samsung’s U.S. phone shopping hub and trade-in estimator are alternatives for checking current offers and conditional trade-in value.
