Verdict: Samsung’s U.S. store is showing the unlocked Galaxy S25 Ultra at $300 below its listed prices, but the official pages reviewed do not establish a blanket 57% discount or a universal free-storage upgrade. The larger headline saving would require a qualifying trade-in and possibly a separate, limited promotion.
Prices and offers change quickly; the figures below were checked on August 18, 2026, at Samsung U.S.
What Samsung’s U.S. listing actually shows
The unlocked S25 Ultra is listed in three capacities. Samsung’s product page shows the same $300 markdown on each configuration, so the percentage discount is smaller on the more expensive tiers.
| Configuration | Listed “was” price | Surfaced sale price | Direct reduction | Approx. discount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB unlocked | $1,299.99 | $999.99 | $300 | 23% |
| 512GB unlocked | $1,419.99 | $1,119.99 | $300 | 21% |
| 1TB unlocked | $1,659.99 | $1,359.99 | $300 | 18% |
See the Samsung U.S. buying page for the live configuration and price display. The percentages are calculated from Samsung’s listed prices: $300 divided by each “was” price.
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
How a headline could reach 57%
“57% off” is not the direct markdown shown above. It could be an all-in savings calculation that combines several different items:
- the automatic $300 price reduction;
- credit for trading in an eligible phone;
- a carrier subsidy paid as monthly bill credits;
- the value of a storage-tier promotion; or
- Samsung Credit, accessories or other benefits that do not reduce the phone’s cash price.
A 57% reduction from the $1,299.99 launch price would put the phone at about $558.99 before tax. Nothing on the official U.S. pages reviewed establishes $558.99 as the ordinary no-trade-in checkout price. The comparison also changes if the headline uses a different storage tier, a carrier installment plan or a one-time account offer.
Trade-in credit is conditional, not automatic
Samsung’s featured-offers page advertises up to $520 or more in instant trade-in credit for the S25 Ultra. “Up to” means the maximum is reserved for particular devices and conditions; it is not a guaranteed amount for every customer. Check the offer at Samsung’s featured offers page.

Your quoted value can depend on the model, storage capacity, carrier version, physical condition, timing and whether the phone passes Samsung’s inspection. “Instant” describes when the credit is applied in the purchase flow, not that everyone receives the maximum.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsProtect yourself during a trade-in
- Photograph the phone, its condition and the shipping package.
- Back up your data, remove accounts, disable device-finding locks and factory-reset it.
- Read Samsung’s condition rules and keep the tracking and delivery evidence.
- Expect the credit to be revised if inspection finds damage, a lock or a condition mismatch.
Is the free storage upgrade real?
The current U.S. buying page shows separate 256GB, 512GB and 1TB choices with separate prices. It does not show a universal offer in which every 256GB buyer receives 512GB, or every 512GB buyer receives 1TB. Samsung’s launch announcement confirms those storage capacities and the $1,299.99 starting price, but it does not prove a current U.S. upgrade promotion: Samsung Newsroom launch announcement.
A storage deal may have applied during preorder, in another country, through a retailer, or only to a logged-in account. Treat it as active only when the checkout page or dated terms state which tier you buy, which tier ships, and any code, color or carrier restrictions. A storage upgrade is not a memory-card slot or a post-purchase expansion; it changes the phone’s built-in capacity.

What you will pay at checkout
Taxes, shipping and financing
Samsung’s product page displays a 24-month example of $41.67 per month for the $999.99 256GB model and a pay-in-four example of $250 every two weeks. Those are payment schedules, not extra discounts; the page notes that taxes and shipping are excluded from the one-time payment example. Your jurisdiction may calculate sales tax differently when credits are involved.
Charger and protection plans
The box contains the phone, a data cable and an ejection pin. Samsung states that a charger is not included, so budget for a compatible USB-C charger if you need one: S25 Ultra product page.
Samsung Care+ is optional. The displayed prices are $10 per month or $199 for two years; Care+ with Theft and Loss is $15 per month or $279 for two years. Availability and pricing can vary by state, product and enrollment timing, so these plans should not be counted as part of the phone discount.

Other benefits are not cash off the handset
Samsung’s S25 Ultra offers page mentions possible Rewards points, online-exclusive colors, one-day shipping language, six months of SiriusXM and a two-month Adobe Photoshop Lightroom trial. Redemption rules and expiration dates apply, and these extras should not be added to the phone’s price reduction: Samsung S25 Ultra offers page.
Which storage tier makes sense?
- 256GB: Lowest purchase price for moderate users who stream media and back up photos to the cloud.
- 512GB: More practical for frequent 4K video, large games and offline media.
- 1TB: Suited to heavy recording and long-term local storage, but expensive unless a genuine upgrade removes the tier difference.
A “free” upgrade has value only if Samsung actually supplies the larger tier at checkout and you would otherwise pay for it. It is not equivalent to cash back.

Consider a carrier
Carrier promotions commonly deliver savings as monthly bill credits tied to an installment plan and qualifying service. Leaving early can make the remaining device balance due. Do not compare the advertised total with Samsung’s $300 markdown until you account for the plan and credit schedule.
Consider a retailer
A retailer may offer a gift card, price match, different return terms or a better trade-in, but current retailer prices were not established here. Verify the desired capacity, color, warranty and return deadline directly.
Who should buy this deal?
- No trade-in: Expect roughly 18% to 23% off, depending on capacity—not 57%.
- Recent flagship owner: Compare Samsung’s inspected trade-in quote with alternatives and document the device condition.
- Unlocked-phone buyer: Samsung’s listed configurations are unlocked and avoid a carrier commitment.
- Heavy-storage user: Choose 512GB or 1TB only when the additional capacity justifies the higher cash price or is explicitly included.
- Newest-model buyer: Note that Samsung’s current featured-offer pages prominently list the S26 series, so the S25 Ultra is an older generation even though it remains on sale: Samsung featured offers.
How to verify the headline before ordering
- Select the exact capacity, color and unlocked or carrier option.
- Record the price before trade-in and the quoted trade-in device and condition.
- Look for a line explicitly stating any storage upgrade, including the purchased and shipped tiers.
- Check whether savings are immediate, a later bill credit, Samsung Credit or an accessory benefit.
- Add tax, shipping, charger, protection and any required carrier service to the checkout total.
- Save the terms, order summary and trade-in instructions.
Bottom line
The verified Samsung U.S. offer is a $300 direct reduction: $999.99 for 256GB, $1,119.99 for 512GB and $1,359.99 for 1TB, before tax and other costs. A strong eligible trade-in can lower the effective price further, but the official listing reviewed does not support assuming 57% off or a universal free-storage upgrade. Buy only after the exact trade-in credit, storage tier and final checkout total appear in writing.
