Recuro Health announced on September 10, 2025, that it promoted Michael Brombach to executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will continue overseeing operations while taking a larger role in advancing the company’s digital-health technology, including planned AI-powered clinical tools and care-team engagement capabilities.
What Recuro announced
The Dallas-based company described the move as a promotion, not an external hire. According to its September 10, 2025 announcement, Brombach will retain responsibility for operations and assume a broader remit for technology capabilities as Recuro serves a growing client base.
| Item | What was stated |
|---|---|
| Executive | Michael Brombach, an existing Recuro executive |
| New title | Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer |
| Core remit | Operations, organizational scaling, customer service and member satisfaction |
| Technology focus | AI-powered clinical tools and care-team engagement solutions |
| Announcement date | September 10, 2025 |
Recuro said the expanded role reflects growth, operational performance and the need to scale service delivery while improving the member experience. The release identified Phil Fasano as chairman and CEO at the time. Recuro’s current website uses the title executive chairman, so the title should be understood in the context of the 2025 announcement.
Who Michael Brombach is—and what is not publicly established
The announcement presents Brombach as a Recuro leader who helped lead teams, scale the organization and support customer service and member satisfaction. It does not provide his education, earlier employers, detailed tenure or a full career biography. Recuro’s About section and homepage provide company context, but the reviewed pages do not establish a detailed, attributable biography for him.

What the expanded COO role is intended to do
Scale delivery
A larger operating mandate would require Recuro to maintain access, response times and service quality as employer and health-plan enrollment grows.
Integrate a broader platform
The role also appears designed to connect clinical services with benefits, navigation and engagement workflows rather than treat each service as a separate product.
Standardize operations
Repeatable processes across virtual primary care, urgent care, behavioral health and supplemental benefits can help a buyer administer one relationship, but they also create more eligibility, data and handoff complexity.

Support product expansion
The release specifically mentions AI-enabled clinical tools and care-team engagement. It does not provide a launch date, product specification, named technology partner or deployment figures.
What Recuro’s platform includes
Recuro’s current offerings page describes a configurable, virtual-first platform delivered through a software-as-a-service model. It combines care delivery with benefits and navigation services for employers, health plans, third-party administrators, diagnostics companies and other intermediaries.
- Virtual primary care
- Virtual urgent care
- Virtual behavioral health
- Chronic-care management
- Pharmacy benefits
- Health advocacy and care navigation
- Wellness programs
- Pediatric behavioral health
- On-demand counseling
- Virtual musculoskeletal therapy
That structure positions Recuro as more than a video-visit provider: it is presenting a configurable benefits and care-delivery layer for institutional buyers. The description is based on Recuro’s published product structure, not an independent audit of its technology or outcomes.

What the AI announcement does—and does not—mean
“AI-powered clinical tools” is a broad description. The release does not say whether the tools will support triage, documentation, care-gap identification, clinical decision support or administrative work. It also does not say whether they are already live, which clinicians or members will use them, or whether Recuro or a partner will build them.
Before treating the initiative as a product launch, buyers should ask:

- How are false positives, false negatives and model drift monitored?

- How are protected health information and vendor access controlled?
- Are performance and access results reviewed across demographic and clinical groups?
- Can the tools exchange information with primary-care, insurer and in-person-care records?
What performance evidence Recuro provided
Recuro’s announcement says the organization experienced rapid growth over the prior two years and reports an average net promoter score of 75–80 during the preceding 12 months, compared with an asserted industry range of 39–58. These are company-provided figures; the release does not provide survey sample size, response rate, product mix, benchmark source or independent validation.
A serious evaluation would also require retention, utilization, clinical outcomes, escalation rates, resolution times and service-level results. The NPS claim alone cannot establish clinical superiority, lower costs or return on investment.

Recuro’s homepage and offerings pages advertise 24/7 virtual urgent care, appointments through a mobile app or online portal, and behavioral-health services including therapy, counseling, psychiatry and medication management. The company says behavioral-health appointments are often available within 48 hours, subject to provider availability, and that primary-care members may select a consistent physician.
Its advocacy services include care navigation, coverage review, physician searches, prescription assistance and bill negotiation. Recuro also advertises nationwide access and behavioral-health availability across all 50 states. Eligibility, activation, provider availability, state rules and the member’s employer or health-plan design determine what an individual can actually use. The company’s listed urgent-care response time of under nine minutes is a marketing claim, not an independently measured guarantee.

Questions for employers, plans and TPAs
Recuro’s public commercial path is a sales demo or proposal request; no public pricing was identified on the reviewed pages. Prospective buyers should clarify:
- Which modules can be selected independently?
- How does eligibility integrate with benefits-administration systems?
- Are all employee locations and dependents covered?
- What response-time, appointment and escalation commitments are contractual?
- How are prescriptions, labs, referrals and in-person handoffs handled?
- What reporting covers utilization, outcomes, access and member experience?
- Is pricing per employee, member, visit or utilization, and are minimums or implementation fees required?
- Who holds clinical liability and responsibility for compliance?
- Can members export records or continue with providers after termination?
What this promotion does not establish
- A funding round, merger or acquisition
- A specific AI product release or named partnership
- New employer or health-plan contracts
- Clinical-outcome improvement or cost savings
- Regulatory approval for future AI tools
- A quantified provider-network expansion
- A change in consumer pricing or ownership
Bottom line
Brombach’s promotion is an operations-and-platform-scaling announcement. Its significance will depend on whether Recuro turns the stated technology agenda into named products, transparent safeguards, measurable outcomes and reliable delivery across its broad virtual-care and benefits platform.
