6 Crypto-Friendly Banks Compared: Best Fits by Customer and Country

Crypto-friendly can mean an integrated consumer app, institutional custody and settlement, or private-client digital-asset services. Compare six options by market, customer and key limitations.

The right crypto-friendly bank depends on where you live and what you need: SoFi and Revolut are consumer-facing options in specified markets, while Anchorage Digital Bank, Sygnum and AMINA focus on institutional or private clients. Bank Frick appears in a 2025 industry map, but its current public product details are not established here. None of these labels means crypto holdings are insured or low-risk.

What “crypto-friendly bank” means in this comparison

The phrase can describe very different services. A bank or financial app might let a consumer buy and sell crypto, provide an institution with custody and settlement, or offer private clients staking, lending or stablecoin-related services. Banking access and crypto access may also be provided under different terms or by different regulated entities.

The six candidates below are grouped by the customers and jurisdictions the available information identifies; they are not ranked universal winners. Fees, spreads, onboarding rules and supported countries were not comparable in the cited information, so check the current terms of the specific entity that would serve you before opening an account or transferring assets.

Provider Intended customer and market Crypto-related services identified Important qualification
SoFi Bank U.S. consumers Buy, sell and hold crypto in the same app as banking, borrowing and investing SoFi says crypto and other digital assets are not FDIC-insured or bank-guaranteed and may lose value.
Anchorage Digital Bank U.S. institutions USD banking, global wires, custody and 24/7 settlement Not positioned as ordinary retail checking; digital assets are not FDIC- or SIPC-protected.
Sygnum Bank Institutional and private clients; Switzerland/Singapore heritage Fiat and digital-asset accounts, trading, custody, staking, lending and payments Account access and terms depend on the relevant client and jurisdiction.
AMINA Bank Private and institutional clients in Switzerland Stablecoin rewards account with segregated custody Rewards require a stated minimum monthly balance in an eligible stablecoin; rates and availability can vary.
Revolut Retail customers in the EEA and UK, subject to local terms Crypto buying, selling, deposits, withdrawals, holding, transfers, staking and spending through a linked card Its U.S. terms say Revolut Technologies Inc. does not offer crypto services; cryptoassets are not covered by the European deposit guarantee scheme.
Bank Frick Liechtenstein; category candidate Listed among crypto-native banks in the 2025 Paypers Web3 Payment Acceptance Report Current public retail product details, supported assets, fees and affiliate program were not established in the reviewed material.

How each option fits

SoFi Bank: banking and crypto in one U.S. consumer app

SoFi announced in 2025 that consumers could bank, borrow, invest, and buy, sell and hold crypto in one place. That makes it a candidate for a U.S. consumer who values an integrated app experience. Availability and product terms still matter, and SoFi’s own announcement makes clear that digital assets are not FDIC-insured, are not bank-guaranteed and may lose value. The bank relationship does not turn a crypto balance into an insured deposit.

Anchorage Digital Bank: institutional banking, custody and settlement

Anchorage describes its offering as banking for cash and crypto, including USD banking, global wires, custody and 24/7 settlement. It says Anchorage Digital Bank is federally chartered and regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Its stated audience includes exchanges, protocols, fintech companies and miners, making it a poor assumption that ordinary consumers can open retail checking there. Anchorage discloses that digital assets are not protected by FDIC or SIPC coverage.

Sygnum Bank: broader digital-asset services for private and institutional clients

Sygnum’s service mix spans fiat and digital-asset accounts, trading, custody, staking, lending and payments. Its product page says it provides regulated custody for more than 70 digital assets, a figure stated by Sygnum in 2026. It supports CHF, EUR, USD and SGD accounts, with other currencies available on request. That breadth may suit an eligible client seeking several crypto functions through one provider, but the specific service and account terms should be checked for the client’s jurisdiction.

AMINA Bank: Swiss stablecoin rewards for qualifying clients

AMINA describes a Swiss-regulated stablecoin rewards account with segregated custody and quarterly rewards. The stated qualification is a minimum monthly balance of 10,000 in an eligible stablecoin; the published information does not specify a currency unit for that figure, so confirm the applicable threshold directly. AMINA says its products are licensed in Switzerland, while reward rates and availability may vary. A reward account is not the same as a bank deposit with guaranteed returns.

Revolut: a country-specific retail choice, not a global crypto bank

Revolut’s EEA terms describe buying, selling, depositing, withdrawing, holding, transferring and staking cryptoassets, as well as spending crypto through a linked card. Those terms warn that cryptoassets are not covered by the European deposit guarantee scheme. The U.S. terms are materially different: Revolut Technologies Inc. says it does not offer cryptocurrency services. Check the terms for your country and contracting entity rather than assuming features available in one market apply elsewhere.

Bank Frick: a Liechtenstein name to verify, not a confirmed retail recommendation

The 2025 Paypers Web3 Payment Acceptance Report includes Bank Frick among crypto-native banks. That supports its inclusion as a category candidate, but does not establish a current retail account, particular supported assets, current fees or affiliate arrangements. Anyone considering it should first confirm the available service, eligibility and protections from Bank Frick’s current official materials.

Crypto access does not mean crypto is insured

For a customer, the key distinction is between permission for a bank to conduct an activity and protection for an asset held through that activity. The FDIC’s March 28, 2025 guidance says FDIC-supervised institutions may conduct permissible crypto-related activities without prior approval, provided they manage risks and comply with applicable law. The OCC’s March 7, 2025 release reaffirmed national banks’ authority for custody, certain stablecoin activities and node verification. Neither statement means customer crypto balances are insured, guaranteed or protected from market loss.

Protection can differ between cash deposits and crypto holdings, even when both appear in the same app or customer relationship. Read the product disclosure for the precise balance you plan to hold; do not assume FDIC, SIPC, FSCS or European deposit-guarantee coverage applies to crypto unless that product’s current disclosure explicitly says so.

Choose by the job you need done

  • For consumer access in the United States: compare SoFi’s integrated app approach with the exact account, crypto availability and risk disclosures applicable to you.
  • For institutional USD banking, custody or settlement: Anchorage is expressly aimed at institutions and describes those functions together.
  • For a broad private-client or institutional crypto service mix: assess whether Sygnum’s account currencies and trading, custody, staking, lending or payment services fit your jurisdiction and needs.
  • For stablecoin rewards in Switzerland: verify AMINA eligibility, the meaning of its stated balance threshold, current reward terms and availability.
  • For retail crypto services in Europe: check whether Revolut offers the relevant feature under the EEA/UK terms that apply to your country; do not assume U.S. availability.
  • For Bank Frick: establish the current product and protections directly before treating it as an option.

Before moving money, verify the contracting entity and jurisdiction, supported assets and functions, fees and spreads, withdrawal rules, minimums, custody arrangements, and what protection applies separately to fiat and crypto. Those details were not established on a comparable basis for all six candidates.
