DITO Telecommunity’s “Unlocking Possibilities for All” was an August 2023 product launch, not a verified guide to plans available in August 2026. It introduced DITO Mobile Postpaid FLEXPlans and DITO Home UNLI 5G WIFI, promoting lower entry prices, data rollover, unlimited all-network calls and texts, number portability and 5G fixed-wireless internet. The prices, device bundles, coverage list and promotional benefits below are historical launch details; check DITO’s current consumer site before subscribing.

Handsets and the meaning of “free”
DITO identified the Samsung Galaxy A02 as free across the described plans, the Galaxy A04 as free with FLEXPlan 888, and the Galaxy A14 5G as free with FLEXPlan 1288. A Samsung Galaxy S23 was listed with a corresponding cash-out requirement. These were launch bundles, not current inventory. “Free” in a contracted plan does not necessarily mean free of monthly obligations, eligibility checks, taxes, fees or early-termination costs. DITO’s announcement pointed customers to its handset page for cash-out details: dito.ph/postpaid/handsets.
Flexibility features
- Advance Pay: DITO said SIM-only customers could pay future monthly fees in advance and receive a discount of up to 40%.
- Mobile Number Portability: Customers could seek to retain an existing mobile number when moving to DITO.
- Choose Your Number: Customers could request a vanity number, subject to availability and the provider’s process.
The announcement said applications for these features were handled through DITO Experience Stores. Rules may have changed.
Launch-period application requirements
DITO listed the DITO app, DITO Experience Stores and retail partners including Rulls, MemoExpress and EC Panda as application routes. The listed documents were at least one valid government ID, proof of financial capacity such as an employment certificate or credit-card bill statement, proof of billing showing the address, and a selfie for app applications. Treat these as 2023 requirements, not a promise of today’s accepted documents or partners.

DITO Home UNLI 5G WIFI
Postpaid home internet
The reported postpaid offer cost ₱1,490 per month and advertised speeds of up to 500 Mbps. Customers subscribing by October 6, 2023 were offered an introductory price of ₱745 per month for the first six months. The reported package included a free 5G modem/router, a 24-month contract and a 30-day Prime Video subscription.
A simple calculation puts the advertised base commitment at ₱35,760 over 24 months (₱1,490 × 24), before taxes, fees, equipment conditions, promotional changes or termination charges. This is an illustrative calculation, not DITO’s quoted total cost.
Data-capped postpaid alternative
DITO also described a 200 GB postpaid plan at ₱990 per month, with unused data carrying over to the next billing cycle. The rollover limit, expiry rules and what happens after the allowance is consumed should be confirmed in the current contract.

Where Home service was listed at launch
DITO listed selected areas in Metro Manila/NCR, Cebu, Laguna, Cavite and Davao. This was not a nationwide availability claim. Enter the exact installation address in DITO’s current checker: a mobile coverage map does not guarantee usable indoor fixed-wireless service.
What “inclusive next-generation technology” meant in practice
DITO’s positioning translated into specific features: a lower advertised entry price, SIM-only access for people who already owned a phone, subsidized or financed handsets, number portability, prepaid and postpaid home choices, 5G connectivity without a fiber installation, and rollover on selected plans.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. A fair assessment also needs the total cost after equipment and contracts, address-level availability, affordability for lower-income households, customer-service quality and performance in underserved communities. “Affordable,” “inclusive” and “for everyone” were DITO’s positioning claims, not independent conclusions.

- Wave 2 Wireless Internet Router: Achieve up to 600 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 1300 Mbps on the 5GHz band. Dual-band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.

How to interpret DITO’s network-performance claims
DITO cited OpenSignal recognition for Upload Speed Experience, Availability, Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality. The announcement included figures of 58.8% for DITO versus 56.7% for Smart on Excellent Consistent Quality, 79.9% for DITO versus 77.7% for Globe on Core Consistent Quality, and a 5.2 Mbps Upload Speed Experience result.
These are report-specific measurements for a defined period. An award or market-level average cannot guarantee the speed, latency or indoor reception at one home. “Up to 500 Mbps” is a maximum advertised ceiling, not an everyday promise. Signal strength, reinforced concrete, distance from a cell site, terrain, tower capacity, evening congestion, modem placement and device capability can all change results. A phone or router may also move between 5G and 4G.
Who might consider DITO—and who should be cautious
Potentially suitable users
- People who verify strong DITO reception at home, work or school.
- Households without accessible fiber that want to try fixed wireless.
- Users seeking prepaid home service or a second network for backup.
- Customers who value number portability or SIM-only service.
- Buyers willing to test real performance rather than rely on national averages.
Potentially poor fits
- Addresses outside the current service footprint or with weak indoor 5G.
- Businesses requiring guaranteed low latency, high uptime or enterprise support.
- Customers unwilling to accept a 24-month home contract.
- Users needing mature roaming or international-service support.
- People whose phones do not meet DITO’s current band and VoLTE requirements.
- Anyone assuming “unlimited” means unlimited speed under every condition.
Buyer checklist before subscribing
- Check serviceability using the exact home address, then test indoors near likely modem locations.
- Ask whether service will be consistently 5G or may fall back to 4G.
- Run tests at peak evening hours and compare download, upload and latency with your actual work or streaming needs.
- Confirm whether the modem is location-restricted and whether relocation is allowed.
- Read data caps, rollover expiry, fair-use and post-allowance rules.
- Calculate equipment, activation, delivery, installation, taxes, handset cash-out and early-termination costs.
- Verify current phone compatibility, number-porting eligibility and possible service interruption.
- Confirm the current Prime Video benefit, promotional duration and separate subscription terms.
- Ask how cancellation, unpaid bills, contract exit and equipment return are handled.
- Compare the first-year and full-term cost with fiber, another fixed-wireless service or a dual-network setup.
What must be rechecked in 2026
The August 2023 announcement does not independently establish August 2026 pricing or availability. Before purchase, verify current plan names and prices, coverage, device stock, contract language, rollover rules, fair-use policies, Prime Video inclusion, application documents, compatible devices, modem conditions and current network-performance evidence on DITO’s official site. The historical launch coverage is available from Tech Times and DITO’s announcement.
The Bottom Line
DITO’s 2023 campaign was significant because it combined lower advertised mobile entry prices with prepaid and postpaid 5G home options. Its value depended on address-level signal, total contract cost and actual performance—not the headline price or a historical award. Treat every figure in this article as launch-era context and verify the live offer before signing up.
