The cheapest Boost Mobile deal is usually the phone you already own. New customers can currently get Unlimited for $10 a month for the first three months, then $25 a month, while selected new phones receive much deeper discounts on higher-priced plans. The right choice depends on your complete cost—service, device, taxes, financing, lock period and cancellation risk—not the largest discount on a product card.
Boost Mobile deals at a glance
Boost’s live offers change with inventory, location and eligibility. The following figures reflect the offers and plan terms available when checked on August 16, 2026; confirm the checkout total at Boost’s deal page.
| Option | Advertised price or feature | Best fit | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unlimited | $10/month for the first three months, then $25/month | BYOD users and low monthly bills | New-customer promotion; offer terms, taxes, fees and activation conditions apply |
| Unlimited+ | $50/month with AutoPay; 40 GB high-speed data and hotspot | More data and larger device discounts | Discounted phones can be locked to this tier or higher for 12 months |
| Unlimited Premium | $60/month; 50 GB high-speed data and hotspot | Higher data allowance and premium device promotions | Device eligibility and financing terms vary by checkout offer |
| Bring your own device | No device payment | Someone with a compatible, paid-off unlocked phone | IMEI approval and local coverage are separate checks |
See the current plan lineup at Boost’s plan page. “No contract” describes service; it does not erase a financed device balance or the loss of promotional credits after cancellation.
What the current $10-to-$25 offer actually means
Boost advertises Unlimited at $10 per month for the first three months and $25 per month for new customers thereafter. The public offer allows either a compatible existing phone or a Boost-purchased phone, subject to the detailed terms at the offer page. Check whether your checkout requires AutoPay, a port-in, a new line, identity verification, an activation fee or add-ons; those conditions can differ by promotion.

Start with BYOD: often the lowest total cost
If your current phone works, BYOD removes the largest cost in most carrier promotions: the handset. Use Boost’s BYOD page and follow this sequence:
- Check the coverage map at home, work, school and other frequently visited addresses.
- Run the phone’s IMEI through Boost’s current compatibility checker.
- Confirm that the phone is paid off, not blacklisted and unlocked or eligible to be unlocked by its current carrier.
- Verify that the exact model variant supports the needed network bands and features. eSIM, Wi-Fi calling, 5G and hotspot behavior can vary by model and software.
- Choose a new number or port your existing number, then activate.
- Test calls, texts, data, hotspot and indoor reception before terminating your old service.
An unlocked label is not a compatibility guarantee. A carrier variant, financing restriction or unsupported bands can cause an IMEI rejection.
When a discounted Boost phone is worth considering

Compare plan cost before chasing a phone discount
Unlimited
The $25 post-introductory plan includes 30 GB of premium high-speed data. After that threshold, speeds may be reduced to 512 kbps for the rest of the billing cycle. Device selection is generally narrower than on higher tiers.
Unlimited+
Unlimited+ is advertised at $50 per month with AutoPay and includes 40 GB of high-speed data, hotspot and Global Talk & Text. Its terms say discounted phones may remain locked to the current tier or higher for 12 months. Changing plans can remove promotional benefits; read the terms at Boost’s Unlimited+ terms.
Unlimited Premium
The published terms identify a $60 plan with 50 GB of high-speed data, hotspot and special discounted-financing offers. Individual phone promotions change independently, so confirm eligibility in checkout and consult the Unlimited Premium terms.

How to calculate a “free phone” deal
Use this formula before ordering:
Total cost = upfront device cost + service cost during the required period + device payments + taxes and fees + optional insurance − promotional credits.
| Cost component | Record this figure |
|---|---|
| Device | Promotional price and full list price |
| Plan | Required monthly tier and AutoPay price |
| Retention | Months you must keep service to preserve credits |
| Introductory rate | Length and amount of any new-customer discount |
| Taxes and fees | Device taxes, service taxes, activation and shipping |
| Financing | Term, interest if any, payoff rules and remaining balance |
| Unlock | Whether the phone is unlocked now or after a service period |
| Cancellation | Credits forfeited, balance accelerated or return required |
Illustrative example: a $0 phone on a $50 plan kept for 12 months costs $600 in service before taxes and extras. A $300 unlocked phone paired with a $25 plan costs $600 over the same year. The “free” handset is not automatically the cheaper choice.
Locks, financing and changing your plan
Boost’s unlocking policy distinguishes the purchase price from unlock eligibility. Postpaid devices are generally unlocked after financing is completed, or immediately when paid in full. Prepaid devices are generally eligible for automatic remote unlocking one year after initial activation if the account is in good standing, payment or usage requirements are met and any device balance is paid. Eligible phones are typically unlocked within two business days after eligibility. Review the current unlocking policy.
Boost says qualified customers may finance selected phones through Affirm or directly through Boost, depending on the device and plan. Financing spreads the checkout cost but does not make the device free; cancellation or a lost promotion can leave a balance payable. Details are described at Boost’s account and financing page.

Coverage, data and international features
Boost uses a combination of its own network and partner networks. Coverage can vary by address, building materials, terrain, congestion, device antenna and the partner network serving you. The map is an estimate, not a promise of indoor reception or a fixed speed. Enter your ZIP code and addresses in Boost’s coverage map before porting.
“Unlimited” refers to usage, not unlimited premium speed. Unlimited lists a 30 GB premium-data threshold and Unlimited+ lists 40 GB; speeds may be reduced for the remainder of the billing cycle after the threshold. Hotspot and international features also depend on the selected tier.
Returns and the 30-day service guarantee
Eligible new customers may qualify for Boost’s 30-day money-back guarantee, but the requirements are specific: create a new account, activate one or more lines, port in a number, enroll in AutoPay and request the refund through customer care within 30 days of account creation. The guarantee covers eligible service fees; activation fees and phone payments may not be refunded. See the guarantee terms and handle a device return separately under the return policy.

Boost Protect may offer screen repair, loss or theft protection and technical support. Premiums, deductibles and exclusions are not fixed on the plan page, so compare the checkout terms with manufacturer or credit-card coverage before adding it.
A Chime-linked promotion may provide qualifying customers with cash rewards toward Boost service after opening a Chime account, establishing qualifying direct deposit and paying the Boost bill with Chime. It is only useful if you already want the account and can meet every requirement. Review Boost’s offer at the main Boost page and the referenced Chime terms.
Who should choose Boost—and who should skip it?
Boost is a strong fit when
- You own a paid-off compatible phone and want a low monthly bill.
- Coverage is reliable at the places you use service.
- You are comfortable keeping a qualifying plan through the promotion.
- The discounted device remains cheaper after adding service and taxes.
Look elsewhere when
- You would select a more expensive plan only to obtain a phone discount.
- You expect to switch carriers before the unlock or credit period ends.
- Your location has weak indoor or rural coverage.
- An unlocked phone from Apple, Samsung or Google costs less after all required Boost service.
For a sanity check, compare the structure—not just headline prices—with unlocked options at Apple, Samsung or the Google Store, and with other prepaid services such as Visible or Metro by T-Mobile. Current competitor prices are not included here because they change frequently.
Order-day checklist
- Run an address-level coverage check.
- Confirm IMEI compatibility and the phone’s unlock status.
- Write down the required plan, AutoPay rule and port-in or new-line requirement.
- Record the full device price, list price, taxes, activation and shipping charges.
- Read financing terms, promotional-credit duration and cancellation consequences.
- Note the earliest unlock date.
- Save screenshots or PDFs of the offer and order confirmation.
- Keep your old service active until calls, texts, data and hotspot work on Boost.
