Let’s Jetty’s Kickstarter Launch: What the Female-Founded Travel-Tech Startup Actually Built

Let’s Jetty’s 2023 Kickstarter surge highlighted a group-trip planning startup, but campaign momentum is not the same as proven commercial traction. Here’s what the product, founders and current public record show.

Let’s Jetty reportedly raised more than $15,000 on Kickstarter within its first 72 hours in 2023, giving the travel-planning startup an encouraging early signal. The company’s product is a collaborative group-trip planning service—not a verified flight, hotel, package-tour or insurance marketplace. Its website still presents a web-based service for invitations, surveys, RSVPs, itineraries and group communication, but the public record does not establish the campaign’s final total, reward fulfillment, revenue, user scale or long-term commercial success.

The Kickstarter milestone—and what it does and does not prove

A July 2023 report from YourStory said Let’s Jetty collected more than $15,000 in its first 72 hours on Kickstarter. That is the measurable crowdfunding result currently documented for the company.

The original campaign page, funding goal, final amount, backer count, reward tiers and delivery record were not available in the cited material. Accordingly, the 72-hour figure should be treated as a contemporary media report rather than a complete, independently verified campaign ledger. Crowdfunding momentum can show that people were willing to support an idea; it does not by itself demonstrate product-market fit, retention, recurring revenue, successful fulfillment or sustainable customer acquisition.

The reported rewards included possible accommodation discounts and priority access to a concierge service. Those were campaign-era benefits, not proof that the offers remain available or were delivered to every backer.

The group-travel problem Let’s Jetty targeted

Planning a trip for several people usually means combining chat threads, email, spreadsheets, polls, booking confirmations and separate calendars. Decisions get buried, guests answer at different times, and an itinerary can change without everyone seeing the latest version.

Let’s Jetty’s origin story, described on its About page, centers on Suzie Palma and Tyler Palma’s destination wedding. More than 50 guests had to coordinate travel and event details, exposing the difficulty of collecting preferences and keeping a large group aligned.

That positions Let’s Jetty as a shared planning layer. Its documented proposition is coordination and communication, not the operation of a full-service travel agency. The available company materials do not establish that it sells flights, hotel rooms, package holidays, travel insurance or settlement of group expenses.

What the product offers

The company describes Let’s Jetty as a “Social Planning Platform for Travel” in its terms and conditions. The stated functions are designed for a trip organizer and the people invited to the plan.

  • Shared itinerary builder: keep trip activities and timing in one plan.
  • Group communication and collaboration: share information and coordinate decisions in the context of the trip.
  • Centralized travel-plan storage: give the group a common reference instead of scattered messages and files.

The About page directs users to app.letsjetty.com and says the service works on desktop and mobile devices. Phone users can add the web app to a home screen. That description is consistent with a browser-based progressive web app; it should not be rewritten as proof of native iOS and Android applications in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Who founded Let’s Jetty?

Public descriptions change depending on the date and source, so the founder story needs a timeline rather than a single unqualified list.

Source and period People identified How they were described
2023 launch coverage Wendy Diep, Suzie Palma and Nicole Martinez Women founders; Tyler Palma was described as the developer supporting the project.
Current official About page Suzie Palma, Nicole Martinez and Tyler Palma “Founding Family”: Suzie Palma, CEO; Nicole Martinez, CDO; Tyler Palma, CTO.
2024 App Growth Summit listing Wendy Diep Listed as Let’s Jetty co-founder and CEO.
Qwoted profile Nicole Martinez Identified as co-founder and creative director.

Diep’s continued public association in 2024 and her absence from the current About page may reflect a change in titles, operating roles or public positioning; the available sources do not explain which. Tyler Palma is now explicitly presented as a technical founder and CTO.

Calling Let’s Jetty “female-founded” is supportable when referring to its launch-era presentation: the 2023 account described three women founders, and the company’s LinkedIn description says it was designed by women, for women. The more precise formulation is that it launched with a predominantly female founding team, while its current public founding leadership includes Tyler Palma.

Who is the target customer?

Let’s Jetty is aimed at groups that must make decisions together: friends, families, wedding and event parties, multi-household vacations and the person acting as the trip organizer. Its value is greatest when a group needs shared input rather than one traveler simply forwarding booking links.

LinkedIn also presents the company as “designed by women, for women” and repeats a claim that women control 85% of travel purchasing power. That percentage is company marketing language in the cited source, not an independently established statistic here, so it should not be treated as a general market fact.

How Let’s Jetty appears to make money

The clearest stated model is freemium: free sign-up and basic use, with premium capabilities available through an upgrade. The company does not disclose enough current pricing or plan detail to evaluate the paid offering.

Its campaign-era accommodation discounts and concierge access suggest possible partner and service revenue, while a partner-program form invites experience providers, entertainment companies, accommodations and travel-planning businesses to join a waitlist. That establishes partnership intent, not the amount of revenue or number of active partners.

Other models—referral commissions, paid concierge work, sponsored partner placement or business tools for group travel—remain plausible industry options, but they are not confirmed Let’s Jetty revenue streams.

Where a group-planning platform helps—and where it may not

Potential advantages

  • A single place for availability, preferences, RSVPs and itinerary updates.
  • Less dependence on long message threads and manually reconciled spreadsheets.
  • A decision process that lets participants provide input before the organizer commits.

Practical limitations to check

  • The service may organize a trip without booking transport or accommodation.
  • Its usefulness depends on guests joining or reliably opening the shared plan—the classic network-effect problem.
  • Travelers may still need separate tools for payments, cancellation rules, maps, reservations, calendars and offline access.
  • Public materials do not establish uptime targets, security certifications, accessibility compliance, customer-support response times or data-export functions.

Before adopting it for a complex trip, an organizer should verify whether reluctant guests can use a read-only link, how updates are notified, whether partial attendance and different arrival dates are supported, and whether plans work across time zones, currencies and international phone numbers. The cited materials also do not establish offline mode, expense splitting, booking tracking, calendar/PDF export or a procedure for preserving an itinerary if the company closes.

Privacy and trust questions

Let’s Jetty’s privacy materials say the service may collect names, email addresses, phone numbers and, where relevant, payment information. That makes the platform’s data practices important for wedding parties, family trips and other groups sharing personal details.

  • Who controls a group itinerary, and can participants delete their own information?
  • Can an organizer remove a guest or restrict visibility of phone numbers?
  • Are payment details handled by Let’s Jetty or an outside processor?
  • Does the service share information with travel or marketing partners?
  • Can a group export its data, and what happens if the organizer leaves?
  • How are children’s details handled on family trips?

The published policy does not answer all of these operational questions in the available text. Users should review the current terms and privacy policy before entering sensitive information.

What happened after the campaign?

The company continues to maintain a website describing a group-travel planning product, and its About page lists current leadership, features, web access and a free-plus-premium structure. That is evidence of an ongoing public presence, not evidence of active development at a particular pace, a specific customer count or financial health.

No cited source establishes current users, revenue, outside investment, retention, app-store distribution, Kickstarter fulfillment or the number of paying customers. A live site therefore cannot convert the 2023 crowdfunding result into a claim of sustained commercial traction.

Bottom line: an encouraging launch, not a proven breakout

Let’s Jetty’s reported $15,000-plus in Kickstarter pledges during its first 72 hours was a noteworthy early vote of confidence for a startup addressing a real coordination problem. Its continuing proposition is clearest as collaborative organization for group trips: collecting decisions, managing invitations and keeping an itinerary together.

Readers should separate that early campaign signal from business outcomes that remain undocumented. The founder roster changed across public sources, the product appears to be a web/PWA planning service rather than a booking marketplace, and key questions about scale, pricing, privacy operations and reward delivery still require direct confirmation from the company.
